Photoshop :: Can't Access Preferences Settings Due To Integer Error
Mar 25, 2013
I'm working on some art on Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended Trial and suddenly out of the blue, whenever I use the Brush Mixer tool, a message appears on screen saying that I can't use it because there isn't enough memory on the RAM. So I tried to enter Preferences on Photoshop to try and increase my memory usage however every time I do that, a message appears on screen saying "An Integer between 96 and 67 is required. Closest value inserted". Sometimes when I click "OK" on this box, it doesn't disappear and I'm forced to close Photoshop via Task Manager. Or sometimes the Preferences box box will open but when I try and click on the "Performances" tab within the Preferences box, the same Integer error message appears again and again and I can't click on the "performance" tab whatsoever.
I reset preferences, deactivated then reinstalled PS CS6 and CS6 64bit same issue. If I open PS CS6 (not x64) I can access preferences without a problem. I'm running windows 8 64bit. Everything else in x64 works normally (editing ect). Edit>Preferences>Camera Raw works. Anything else I choose in Preferences and PS freezes and I have to End Task in Task Manager.
I was trying to animate my character and when I wanted to change the frame-rate (under Animation Preferences) the error "//Error: Cannot Find Procedure 'preferencesWnd'" came up. I also found that if I just wanted to access Window -> Settings/Preferences -> Preferences the same exact error would appear. I've tried deleting the preferences folder in My Documents to no avail.
Unfortunately any one with a similar issue seems to be dealing with custom scripts. I'm not, I'm just trying to open the preferences window.
I used to be able to 'hide' PS CS6 when for example whilst it was batch processing. Now PS CC will not allow me to hide it away from the screen so I can get on with other work...Do I have to changes settings/preferences? I am on a MAC quad core with OS 10.7.5
I am using a classroom in a book tutorial for cs6 and stuck on one directive that gets me nowhere: "Start Photoshop, and then immediately hold down Command+Option+Shift (MacOS) to restore default preferences." When I do this, nothing happens -- no prompt as promised. What am I doing wrong and where can I go to get the default settings in preferences restored?
I finally upgraded my 2002 version to ACAD LT 2013; possible to migrate my setting, templates, plot files and preferences from 2002 to 2013 (I have to admit I haven't tried yet)?
Whenever I save a set of print settings for printing I can no longer access Print Settings again. This works but then the problem represents itself the next time I go to print. It is rather tedious to reset all my preferences every time I want to print a document.
Mac 10.6.8. I have the latest version of CS5 fully updated. Printing to an Epson 4800.
I have created a shape, converted the layer to a 'smart object', and rendered 'lighting effects' to it. When I do that, PS creates a 'Lighting Effects' layer but the settings don't appear and how to access them. I am using CS6.
When I try to open the program, it gives me the following error: "Could not initialize photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted). I've uninstalled and re-installed the program.
We are having issues with Adobe Bridge working properly with Photoshop. When trying to access Bridge through Photoshop we receive the following error "Bridge CS6 was not found on this system. To use this command, please reinstall Bridge CS6"
- We have the Master Collection CS6 installed - Bridge CS6 is working fine as a stand-alone program - This is installed on Windows 7 x64 - I am unable to find an uninstall location for Bridge CS6, it is not under control panel > Adobe Master Suite - All adobe products are up-to-date as of this morning.
Everytime I open my CS6, it always show " Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)" I reinstalled it but it is still popping out.
We are attempting to access the file naming prefix in documents settings but i am unable to start code or find away to get where i need.
We have a multi solid bodie part that changes on via suppression to different styles of profile we then need the file naming prefix to chage depending on what key have selected .
ie Parameter = Style with 4 Multi selctions 1,2,3,4
depending on selection picked we then need to change the Solid Bodies Prefix in document settings..
Example :: If style = 1 then Solid Bodies Prefix = Dave
I work with OpenEXRs 3D renders alot. While they are usually lossless at 32bpc, there are options to save at lossy 24-bit float and lossy 16-bit float with drastically reduced file sizes.(Photoshop still opens them up as 32bpc)
How do these compare to Photoshop's 16bit color? (Which I'm assuming is 16-bit integer?)At 16-bit float, I'm throwing out half the color information, but I'd still have vastly more color information than 16-bit integer? When do I really need 32bpc float? And when is 16bpc float "good enough"?
The error is the following: "Error 1606. Could not acess network location 0." It happens after the computer specifications process. I've tried to search for solutions, but with no results at all... I've tried to track it down in registry, but also with no results.PC: LG E500OS: Windows Vista Home Edition Help?
I'm running After Effects CS6 11.0 on MAC OSX and everytime I attempt to apply text, either by creating a new text layer from the drop down menu or dragging open a text box I get "Unable to Access Resource P_TextSmallCaps_Sm_N_D (type png)"
Is this a png file missing from the program, a fixable bug or what?
I'm only a few seconds in to my video and a few clips in... and when I play it back I get weird audio feedback like a repetitive noise that appears to be an artifact of decompression. I tried to produce an output to see if it shows up there as well (as opposed to my project view playback) and near the end of processing the short clip, I get an error message:
Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xffffffff Exception e6d7a0adh. This error only occurs while I am using dimension commands. This is happening on a daily basis, no resolution from AutoCad. Error reports sent each time it happens. This particular failure never happened with 2012.
I'd like to use a grid to snap a lot(!) of small images into a larger(!) one. That works alright.
Problem: the large image has places the small images need to be snapped into, but they are not spaced an integer number of pixels apart. So the grid slowly wanders off the places as I move over the sheet. The places are 127.5 pixels apart (alternately 127 and 128, I guess). I cannot scale the image up, because the image is already 2.7 GB in size and my computer cannot handle the quadrupled size.
Is there a way to make GIMP accept a non-integer width for grid spacing?
It is absolutely ok if GIMP alternately places the grid lines a pixel shorter and a pixel longer.
Edit: I'm using GIMP 2.6.11, could install another version.
I'm trying to import a .SAT file into ACAD 2000. I'm using the ACISIN command. Usually I don't have any problems with this. When I find a .SAT file that is too recent, I use HOOPS 3D Part Viewer v13.15 for ACIS to save down the file.
Lately I've been trying to import some Colson caster CAD files from 3dcontent central and I have a problem when I get to the ACISIN portion of my procedure. I get this message
"Modeling Operation Error: Missing integer in restore file. Unable to read the ACIS file"
The file looks fine in HOOPS. I'm not sure why it's not coming into ACAD. I used to not have this problem but I'm having it a lot lately.
so i've been getting this pop up window everytime i try to open autocad today. yesterday night i was using it fine.now whenever i try to open the program, it says "fatal error unhandled access violation reading b14c4b12h"..i sent an error report to autodesk and they suggested a patch. and after restarting my pc its still not working.
i have win8.1 with autocad2014.it pisses me off koz i have school assignments to do and it's not working
Just reviewing the discussion board, I find that there is an indication that this error has been around since longer than AutoCad 2000.
We are currently using AutoCad 2010 in combination with Cadworx 2010 and still encounter the "Missing Integer in Restore File" error randomly. Once this error is encountered, the drawing file is rendered virtually useless.
