Photoshop :: CS6Â text And Font Changes By Clicking
Apr 23, 2013
Sometimes I open a file with layers in PS and click on a text layer, to move or change it, and immediately the text and font changes into another text/font from the document. Can not save the file then the problem stays forever. I can´t touch/change any text layer without this problem. Happens on every ca. 10th - 20th file I open... how can this be fixed?
I have a really weird problem with one of my files. When I click on the text, it changes the text to completely different words. Seems like it is corrupt somehow... see below images to see what I mean. Is there a fix? I'm on CS6 mac OS 10.8.4. Â Before:
After:
Out of curiosity I also opened up the file in text edit to see if there was anything obvious, and here's some of the code. I'm assuming this is preview text for search, but either way seems a bit fishy. <rdf:li rdf:parseType="Resource"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <photoshop:LayerName>Partners</photoshop:LayerName> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <photoshop:LayerText>WE WILL BE...</photoshop:LayerText> </rdf:li> Â Trying to edit the text and saving it out corrups the file.
I have one large file and think it didn't save correctly or something. I've tried quitting and relaunching Photoshop but that doesn't work. Editing text in other Photoshop files works normally. Â As soon as I click on any text with the type tool as though I'm going edit or style the text, the text instantly changes. Both the content and styling of the text is replaced as soon as the cursor is placed anywhere in the string of characters. Â The really weird thing is the updated text matches text that appears somewhere else on the page. If I click the other text that it now matches that will also get automatically replaced by some other text on the page. And it goes on and on. It's impossible to edit or style any text unless I create new text. Â I think the file has miss-arranged references to elements which only becomes apparent as I'm trying to edit.
I am able to use premiere pro and after effect but cannot get either illustrator or photoshop cs6 or cc to work.information that I get at start up is problem signature:
Problem Event Name:         APPCRASH  Application Name:         Photoshop.exe  Application Version:         14.0.0.0  Application Timestamp:         5176451b  Fault Module Name:         MSVCR100.dll  Fault Module Version:         10.0.40219.1  Fault Module Timestamp:         4d5f034a  [code]....
running on a PC windows 7 with 16 meg of ram and 6 core processor, had previously had CS 5 mater edition running fine. cleaned it off the system and now cannot for the life of me get cs6 or cc to work.
If I try and load new 3D materials using the "Load Materials" menu item Photoshop sends me to a web page which no longer allows logins due to the transition to Revel. Since Revel appears to be for user content I can't see why the 3D materials would be there.Where are the additional 3D textures for Photoshop ? I have searched Adobe.com but cant find a mention of them directly.
Is is possible to run Photoshop CS6Â and Photoshop-CS6 CC simultaneously in the same computer? For instance PSSC6 for batch processing and PSSC6-CC for image editing?
I copied my PS CS5 Plug Ins folder into my CS6Â one & it started having problems opening & errors... what the basic/original ones should be in PS CS^6 Plug In folder?
windows7  Epson 2880 printer I can print in Lightroom with no problem. CS6 was printing okay. Now when I try printing it says proceeding , but nothing happens. Cs6 does not crash. Just won 't print. My printer dialog box says error printing then recover file , but when i try again nothing. everything else seems okay. I restarted CS6 and rebooted computer , still no printing. What am Idoing wrong. Is does CS6 haveto be re instalked ?
I have been having a problem selecting objects in Illustrator. I am only able to select boxes and type by clicking directly on the path with both the selection and direct selection tool. Normally I can select text by clicking anywhere on it. I have checked my selection preferences and have the "Object Selection by Path Only" box turned off.
I'm trying to create a timeline wherein the camera rotates in a circle around a 3d Object that is located at the origin of the Ground Plane. I click 3d Camera in the Timeline to create my beginning keyframe, I drag the time slider to the end of the timeline, and I Rotate the camera view around the Z (vertical central)Â axis of the ground plane. I have the caps lock on so that the ground plane stays perfectly level as I rotate.)Â
As I am rotating the 3d Camera, the entire scene appears to rotate around the Z axis at the origin of the ground plane, which is what I want the animation to look like, but this is not the scene that plays back. When I play back the scene by clicking the play button or dragging the time slider, it rotates off-axis around some other center of rotation, with my 3d object often rotating out of the scene.
how can I get a Random Number in a Text by clicking a button? Â For example: I have an already animated object [a dice] as button and I have a Text object located on other part of the stage and where should appear the random number from 1 to 6. Â I have tried in CreationComplete and compositionReady, and in the Click option in the button, one of these two options: Â Math.floor((Math.random()*6)+1); var ran_number=Math.floor(Math.random()*5; Â I have also tried in the dice image [button] within the symbol this [with one of the two previous codes]: Â sym.getComposition().getStage().$("text").html(ran_number); Â And it doesn't work anyway. Right now I'm basically lost. That would be like:
Why can't I adjust the scale of my text by clicking and dragging the corner boxes? Why I have the text selected, all it does it let me highlight it to change font, size, etc, OR all I can do is move it throughout the artboard. Why can I click and drag the corner box to adjust?
I've trying to track down a solution for an issue that we are experiencing. When some of our lisp programs get run, you can no longer double click on text to edit it in paper space. If I put text in model space, I am able to double click to edit it. Is there a variable for this?
I just verified something else, if I move the text to be outside of the View Port, I can double click to edit the text. If I try to double click to edit while inside the viewport then it switchs to model space withing the viewport.
I was working on a project and I had recently installed a new font. Now all of a sudden whenever I make a new text box and type some text in nothing shows up. I can only see a tiny black line which isn't even text, even tho its set to 36ft. I changed the font and size to see if it made a difference, and nothing worked. I restarted PS and my computer several times, and still the same thing...
I need to extract text and font from a text layer. No problem, I thought, with gimp-text-layer-get-text and gimp-text-layer-get-font.
But I find that the original text layer was cropped withplug-in-autocrop-layer. Nevertheless Gimp lets me edit the text with the text edit tool - after a confirmation dialog.
But I can't get the text with script-fu. Is there a way to manage it? There are many files involved.
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?
Very difficult to change a font in Photoshop CS6: I select the font then go to the dropdown (either the side panel or the options panel at top; same results) and BEGIN TO scroll down to find the font I want to change to. After a couple seconds, the list pops back up to the top. Usually I cannot scroll past the fonts beginning with M or N before it overrides my scrolling and pops back to the top again, If I can select quickly, I can sometimes nab a different font that starts with a B or C, but hardly ever one I am seeking.
How do I figure out what font is used on text layer on a .psd? I thought highlighting the text or selecting the layer would show me the font used, but it doesn't seem to work that way. Is there an info option or something that can give me this info?
when I try to add or edit text (in this case, as the screenshot shows, Franklin Gothic Heavy)-- It always adds a 'slight' italicized format to the text.
As you can see, the 'font style' drop down menu is greyed out.
I am currently using PhotoShop CS3 and having some trouble with a font. I had made a text/pic about 2 years ago and i wanted to go back and rename the actual text or make a new one with the same font.
However i can not find the same font i had used. Is there anyway to get the same font again maybe a trick or something? Heres a picture of what it looked like...
i have installed font in D directory as i didn't have enough space in my default one.. now my fonts in photoshop are not working they are just showing a black line.. what to do..?Whenever i type with my text tool it only shows a black line..
Not sure if I have some option checked here I shouldn't. I am working on an image where I want an 8 pt font. When I use text tool > horizontal type tool > I make sure I have verdena size 8pt font checked. I have made an image with this font size before and it turned out fine. However, now when I use this font it is huge, looks like size 20 or something. It is at 100% so it should look a lot smaller. I also put the old image next to it and the font is a lot smaller then the new one. Any idea on what's going on?
I opened an old file, probably from photoshop 7 or something, where I was using 'warp text' - just a simple 6 degree arc. Now, in CS4, I attempt to change the text written, or make any changes at all to the type, and the font becomes distorted. It doesn't matter what font, and it does it from scratch as well as editing existing warped text. Did my warp feature become corrupted somehow?
I'm having some trouble when typing text with the text tool. Whenever I try to type something down in PS, the font is incredibly small. In fact, it only appears when I set the font size to its maximum. And then, it's by far not the size I want it to be.
I am using CS2 on a XP64 machine. I am editing a .psd originally created in Photoshop 7 but saved under a different file name in CS2.When I open the file, a dialog box with this text appears: "Some text layers need to be updated before they can be used for vector output. Do you want to update these layers now?" The options are No and Update. Updating the layers changes all the text layers from font "Times New Roman" to "Radioactive", which I'm sure isn't a standard installed font. To avoid the problem in future edits, I saved the .psd under a different name through CS2 and then deleted all the offending text layers and recreated them using "Times New Roman" again. However, after saving the file and reopening it, I get the same problem as before. Should I perhaps delete the "Radioactive" font? I'd really rather not have to enter all the text in again.
When typing text, the text is blurry and broken up and very hard to see what's going on. But as soon as I accept, or hit return then it's clear as a bell.
Every time I try to use the Text tool in PSE10, it won't let me change the font and the page will "jump up and down"and I get the "not responding" message.
