I am currently using PhotoShop CS3 and having some trouble with a font. I had made a text/pic about 2 years ago and i wanted to go back and rename the actual text or make a new one with the same font.
However i can not find the same font i had used. Is there anyway to get the same font again maybe a trick or something? Heres a picture of what it looked like...
I've got some Text Layers in my CS6 document.  In CS5, if I had Text Layers and changed the text on the layer (by double-clicking the "T" icon of the specific Layer in the Layers palette), the name of the Layer would change to reflect the new text I entered.  For some reason this behavior is gone in CS6. So, for example:  • I have a Text Layer with the word "Email" on my canvas. The Text Layer name also reads "Email". • I double-click the "T" icon of the Email Layer to edit the text on canvas. • I enter new text, "Contact". The text on canvas updates to "Contact", but the Layer Name remains "Email".  So, for accurate Layer names, I find myself having to change the text twice: once on the canvas, and then manually updating the Layer name as well. Is there an option or preference somewhere that I'm missing that would re-enable the behavior from CS5?
My text in Photoshop is jagged unless I zoom in at 100%. When I do that it's normal. Also when I save as a file on my computer it's normal. I don't see other people with this issue, they get normal text by default. I haven't changed any settings, everything is as it is when you first get the program.
Is there a way to get the dimension text to highlight along with the actual dimensions, without having to directly select it after pulling a dimension off of an object? CAD Tools 7 automatically highlighted it.
I want to disable the auto renaming feature in text layers so that I can change the content without change the name of the text layer. Also i want to do this to all the text in one step, without do it manual one by one. Â for more description, i am working on replace English text with other language but i want to keep English name of all text layers SO i want to disable auto renaming while replacing the content.
Is it possible to have Lightroom rename the source images according to my custom naming convention? Â I just imported 278 photos and they are all correctly renamed within Lightroom however the source files retained the original Canon generated names. I want to rename them for backup/in case I ever decide to stop using Lightroom/etc.
I was working on a project and I had recently installed a new font. Now all of a sudden whenever I make a new text box and type some text in nothing shows up. I can only see a tiny black line which isn't even text, even tho its set to 36ft. I changed the font and size to see if it made a difference, and nothing worked. I restarted PS and my computer several times, and still the same thing...
I'm trying to get the dimension text that I pull out to the side closer to the actual dimension marks. The 2 1/2" and 2" shown have a minimum distance they can get toward their dimensions. I would like it to be about half of what it is, but so far I haven't been able to find the property that changes that.
I need to extract text and font from a text layer. No problem, I thought, with gimp-text-layer-get-text and gimp-text-layer-get-font.
But I find that the original text layer was cropped withplug-in-autocrop-layer. Nevertheless Gimp lets me edit the text with the text edit tool - after a confirmation dialog.
But I can't get the text with script-fu. Is there a way to manage it? There are many files involved.
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?
Very difficult to change a font in Photoshop CS6: I select the font then go to the dropdown (either the side panel or the options panel at top; same results) and BEGIN TO scroll down to find the font I want to change to. After a couple seconds, the list pops back up to the top. Usually I cannot scroll past the fonts beginning with M or N before it overrides my scrolling and pops back to the top again, If I can select quickly, I can sometimes nab a different font that starts with a B or C, but hardly ever one I am seeking.
How do I figure out what font is used on text layer on a .psd? I thought highlighting the text or selecting the layer would show me the font used, but it doesn't seem to work that way. Is there an info option or something that can give me this info?
when I try to add or edit text (in this case, as the screenshot shows, Franklin Gothic Heavy)-- It always adds a 'slight' italicized format to the text.
As you can see, the 'font style' drop down menu is greyed out.
i have installed font in D directory as i didn't have enough space in my default one.. now my fonts in photoshop are not working they are just showing a black line.. what to do..?Whenever i type with my text tool it only shows a black line..
Sometimes I open a file with layers in PS and click on a text layer, to move or change it, and immediately the text and font changes into another text/font from the document. Can not save the file then the problem stays forever. I can´t touch/change any text layer without this problem. Happens on every ca. 10th - 20th file I open... how can this be fixed?
Not sure if I have some option checked here I shouldn't. I am working on an image where I want an 8 pt font. When I use text tool > horizontal type tool > I make sure I have verdena size 8pt font checked. I have made an image with this font size before and it turned out fine. However, now when I use this font it is huge, looks like size 20 or something. It is at 100% so it should look a lot smaller. I also put the old image next to it and the font is a lot smaller then the new one. Any idea on what's going on?
I opened an old file, probably from photoshop 7 or something, where I was using 'warp text' - just a simple 6 degree arc. Now, in CS4, I attempt to change the text written, or make any changes at all to the type, and the font becomes distorted. It doesn't matter what font, and it does it from scratch as well as editing existing warped text. Did my warp feature become corrupted somehow?
I'm having some trouble when typing text with the text tool. Whenever I try to type something down in PS, the font is incredibly small. In fact, it only appears when I set the font size to its maximum. And then, it's by far not the size I want it to be.
I am using CS2 on a XP64 machine. I am editing a .psd originally created in Photoshop 7 but saved under a different file name in CS2.When I open the file, a dialog box with this text appears: "Some text layers need to be updated before they can be used for vector output. Do you want to update these layers now?" The options are No and Update. Updating the layers changes all the text layers from font "Times New Roman" to "Radioactive", which I'm sure isn't a standard installed font. To avoid the problem in future edits, I saved the .psd under a different name through CS2 and then deleted all the offending text layers and recreated them using "Times New Roman" again. However, after saving the file and reopening it, I get the same problem as before. Should I perhaps delete the "Radioactive" font? I'd really rather not have to enter all the text in again.
When typing text, the text is blurry and broken up and very hard to see what's going on. But as soon as I accept, or hit return then it's clear as a bell.
Every time I try to use the Text tool in PSE10, it won't let me change the font and the page will "jump up and down"and I get the "not responding" message.
After opening a .jpeg file, I'd like to add text. No problem adding text. The problem is editing the text.  Apparently, PhotoShop Elements 10 gets stuck on one font. And it can't be changed.  When clicking on the down arrow (to change the font), the User  Interface "jumps" up and down. But, the font won't change. I am able to change the color of the text, but not the font. I checked my System and there's no problems. I even did a Virus scan...none found.  Is there a setting from within                  PhotoShop Elements 10 that I'd be able to import the fonts on my System ?
My System : Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit and 3 Gb RAM.
I want to get a tattoo, similar to the one Johnny Depp has (Google 'winona forever tattoo' and you will see what I mean). But I want the two words to be different in my tattoo. I was hoping to take a pic to the tattoo artist with the words I want in the image.Â
Is there any way to take an image of his tattoo, and change the words to the words I want in my tattoo? I can't find the font on any font identifying sites, I don't even know if it is a proper font.
I am using PSE12 with Mac OS X Mavericks. If I use the type tool, type some text then want to change maybe the font or size, the text disappears! If I set the parameters before typing everything is OK, but it is really inconvenient.  Also when I do a return in text the first letter of the next line is always a capital whether or not I start a new sentence!
Using photoshop CS6 on Mac, I am seeing a problem with one of my batch processing sript who's only task is to apply an embossed water mark to images which I have resized such that the longest side is always 500px. (short side varies depending on how I have cropped). Â In most cases, the piece of text I am adding to the image appears fine. But then for no apparent reason, it will suddenly apply the text (which I have set to 24pt) and it is way to big. To address the issue, I have to reduce the font size (via the actions pallate) down as far as 8 pt. Then it starts to appear more or less correctly (for a while) until maybe a few weeks later when I open up photoshop to run the job again and suddenly 8 pt font is WAY too small and I have to bump it up to 24 pt again.
