Photoshop :: CS6 Crashing On Video Render
Jul 24, 2013
I've got a problem with a Photoshop CS6 version I use in my office (Windows 7). Everytime I try to export a video from the timeline to use an image sequence on a graphic software it keeps crashing. The video render initializing starts and stops more or less at 80%.
If I cancel it, I cannot use Photoshop again as it keeps restarting at anytime only for stopping itself always at the same point. So I have to force it to close with the task manager.

I edited a wedding video that is over 90 minutes long (it was a wedding in Ireland). It was filmed in AVCHD on a pro video camera.
I wanted to produce a standard DVD and a Blu Ray copy to send over. The DVD copy rendered fine but the Blu Ray as well as the AVCHD file crashed every time and even crashed the computer to re-start. It crashed at around 30% in and I tried a number of different combinations to accomplish this render.
What I then did after a few attempts was to look at the last frame of the couple of files it did render to see where on the time line it was crashing.
It turned out it was on a transition I customised, I think using proDAD VitaScene. It was a transition that created a twinkling star effect from one scene to the next. As soon as I removed this one transition and it rendered a Blu Ray file with no problems at all.
One question though, I am not sure why there are so many choices of Blu Ray and AVCHD in the menu. What is the difference and which one would be the generally used one.

We have repeated crashing on a scene that uses Light Tracer... if we remove Light Tracer it doesn't crash the nodes. It's particularly annoying that our other nodes are 24 cores and they work fine.
So, the spec of the crashing nodes with 32 cores are AMD Opteron 6276 2.30 ghz 4 processors (8 cores each). 64GB RAM, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

I am a student in animation and media design. I have used photoshop in CS4 to animate in the past then I switched to creative cloud.
Another student thinks that I am getting it to render and its playback is just to fast for me to see but I have adjusted the settings and used different formats but it is all the same. What else could it be?

I am trying to render a video from layers I made from a quicktime. The problem is that all of the layers are on top of each other and take up the whole length of time instead of each being one frame sequentially after each other. So, when I render or do a DPX sequence it is only one frame played for 6 seconds. There are 167 layers (frames) so I would rather not have to adjust each layer back one frame at a time.

I can see that the render video options are vastly different in OS X and Windows versions of PS CS6. Not only they are different layed out but as far as I can see a wide range of codecs are missing on the OS X version.
In particular, how can I export a video file using QuickTime container and H.264 codec in OS X version? If You select H.264 video it creates an .mp4 file whereas I wnat a .mov file. Same codec but different container.

PhotoShop CC (v 14.1.2 x64) Trail (about 5 days into it)
1) I can open a video and play it back at the speed of the video.
2) I can not get playback faster than 1 fps if there are any filters applied - the pre-render / buffering isn't working at all.
3) I can not "Render Video" by choosing either "Render Video from the menus or the Export Arrow button in the GUI.
As soon as I select either I get a Progress Bar that that says "Initializing Video Export" but never finishes. I have waited as long as 4hrs and still no dice.I've tried with more than a few different videos and the result is always he same. Here are three of the videos I have tried with:

I'm trying to use the export>render video feature in Photoshop CS5 extended. I must use avi without any compression, keeping the original frame rate (the original file is also an uncompressed avi). My impression was that this setting keeps the original video quality.
However, the exported video loses quite a bit of its original quality. Is it possible to keep the original quality?

I am using Elements 10 for the first time and am a true beginner at this. I am trying to add multiple effect onto the beginning of a video. Do I have to render the whole video every time I want to watch what I added to the video? The video is 45 minutes long and I am only working with the first 5 minutes of the video. I am guessing if I cut and remove the 40 other minutes rendering with not take so long but, how do I save the other 40 minutes so I can re-attach it when I am ready to work on it?

Any settings I can change to speed this up? Im using Windows 7 32bit.

I have experienced when rendering video from Photoshop that the color looks especially bad in Quicktime Player compared to what it looked in PS. I read that there is a color shift issue when Rendering Video from Photoshop due to the lack of color management in some video players. I know this is more a player issue than a Photoshop issue, but I want to be able to make my video look best across all players.
Is there any kind of general rule for an adjustment I can make?
I can't seem to find much information on Google about this particular shift with regards to PS' Render Video.

My Corel VS X6 Pro is crashing during a MPEG-4 1920x1080 export at 69% complete. Happened twice in a row. The error message refers to this dump file. I have been able to export this same video before, this just started happening.
I tried to add the dump file as an attachment but the .DMP extension is not allowed.

I had VisualStudio x5 working fine on my Windows 8 Pro machine. I've been using this for a few months without issue. I imported some video from my phone in .MOV format, and had the message that I needed install quicktime to work with this video. I did so, edited video, and posted it.
However when I then imported video from my Canon camcorder, AVCHD format, I received a crash dump in trying to play any of the clips. What's strange is that I was able to look at old sections of clips I'd saved and play them find. Only the newer clips were an issue. I suspected corrupt files, re-imported things and it didn't work. I even recorded new video and that didn't work. I was up to date on patches from Corel, according to the product.
I was in a bind, so I decided to upgrade to x6, even though none of the features were really important. I upgraded, imported the same videos I'd had issue with in x5 and they worked. Problem solved, or so I thought.
I had to run x5 to access some old clips to put together a short reel. I did that and things worked fine. I then went back to x6 and received crash dumps on all imported files, including the video I had just imported. I can still play the edited pieces of clips I separated out in x6, but I cannot play any full clips.
I've rebooted multiple times, removed quicktime, uninstalled and reinstalled x6, no go.

For some reason I keep getting crashes when importing HDV (720p60) video into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This has happened on two different machines, with similar specs.
Per the suggested guidelines, here are the specifics:
Version of Premiere Pro: CS6, Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC:264587))All updates have been installed.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Source footage: HDV 720p60 video in .MOV container.
Full text of error message: "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project." Link to full crash report: URL....
Crash occurs when trying to import HDV .MOV file. This is a consistent problem when importing .MOV files of this type.
Complete Adobe Creative Suite is installed. Also using Episode Pro encoding software from Telestream to prepare HDV video. No other external video hardware or codecs installed.Yes, I am using the Mecury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.

I've looked everywhere online for tutorials but still don't understand how to do it. I keep getting 29.97fps in the end. I need it for a project and I need it very soon.I use MP4 video files at 60fps.

Llightroom 4.4 crashes everytime I try to playback video causing the app to close. The video loads fine, I can see the thumbnail, but when I hit play I hear audio for a few seconds, the video doesn't typically play or plays for only 1 second then the app crashes. Video files play fine in quicktime or Windows media. This happened in 4.3 as well so not related to the upgrade to 4.4. Here is what is logged in the Windows error log.

Why I cannot render a frame-based video when selecting (Share/Custom/MPEG Transport-stream)? My goal is to create an AVCHD video and burn it to a DVD (4.7G). My video is 16min long and the calculated bitrate is around CBR 15,000 kbps. If I use the (Share/ADVCHD/1920) option, I don't have any control over the settings. I have already deinterlaced my video using Neoscene. That is why I want to create a frame-based video.
Below is my workflow.
Two video sources:
.mov(1080p) from ContourHD 1080p camea
.mts(1080i) from Canon Vixia HF S100
1. Trim .mts files in CSV PX3
2. Trim .mov files in Contour S/W
3. Convert trimmed clips to .avi with Cineform Neoscene
4. Edit in CSV PX3
5. Planned to render in AVCHD, 1920x1080p, 29.97 fps, 15000 kbps

I have been using X5 for almost a year and everything seems find until lately when I up graded my system to window 8.1. I have assemble a 40 min video but when I tried to use 'share' to output to MP4 iphone/ipad HD,the rendering go halfway then the VideoStudio crashed with an error 'The program has encountered an unspecified error' and a DMP file and ask me to contact Corel support. My project only has 1 video tack, 1 voice track and 1 music track and the project file is 17,426 KB. If I disable the voice track, then the project can render successfully. Since the voice track is recorded using VideoStudio voice over with WAV format, I went back and convert all voice into mp3 to smaller size but still crash when render halfway. My system should have enough resources to process this 40 min video.
Window 8.1 pro 64x
16GB ram
CPU i7
Hard drive 2T.
I have assemble 40 min video with heavy voice before in XP and it render without any problem. Is there are issues between VideoStudio and window 8.1 64x ? Is there a limit to VS project size, or voice track size ? I read some of the posts and you recommend to manfully uninstall the software and reinstall the software. I am reluctant to do this, not at least after I can output my project to mp4, because it might wipe out my setting, templates, libraries, and even my project file. Do you know of any tool so I can read the DMP file ? I don't understand what good to have a DMP file when my software have passed the 30 day or 1 time support warranty?
It has been very frustrate to spend all this time to assemble a video and at the end cannot produce a sharable version. I was about to upgrade to X6 but now I have to think twice if this issue is not resolved. What good are all thees fancy new features in X6 to me if I cannot produce a sharable version of my project ?

I'm using VS x5.
Basically, I have a Sanyo HD camera which I've used to capture quite a bit of holiday footage. I've edited some together but when I output the project to either mp4 or mts the picture is choppy when panning.
The camera was set to 1080p @ 30fps (there's no option of 25fps even though the camera was bought here in the UK) which I have matched by choosing the "Custom" option when creating the movie. I've matched the bitrate (16789bps on the source) but this ends up being 15540bps on the output file. (??) According to the properties on the source file it's 29.97fps which I have also matched in the Custom settings option.
I understand I should expect dropped frames if I was trying to output the file as PAL compliant, but I've got VS set to NTSC so I don't think this is an issue.
The source file is mp4 and looks fine when viewing the panning scenes.
PC Spec:
Intel quad core 2.4Ghz
4Gb RAM
ATI Radeon 5430 Graphics card
2TB SATA HDD
Windows Ultimate x64

Given that it seems to be a good idea to render VSP projects to a single video file before attempting to create a DVD through Share Create Disc, I am wondering what is the most optimal type of video file to initially render the VSP into.
The video from my camera comes in a ACVHD 1080/60i. My target final disc is either 1) standard DVD, or 2) Blu Ray. I have been rendering the VSP into a 1920x1080 AVCHD format.
