On Windows 7, PS CS6 64bits hangs onto a side of desktop and does not respond as it launches. No error messages. 32 bits works fine. PS5.5 64 bit works fine. Only the regular windows 7 updates (no driver updates or other program updates other than Adobe Acrobat Reader) have been installed since I installed PS CS6 extended.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on two 64 bit Windows 7 machines. One went fine--a clean install on a workstation with no prior CS versions.
Second machine, a laptop, not so good. The 64 bit version hangs as soon as I try to open a file, even using File > New. The program is totally hung and nonresponsive at that point. But the 32 bit version works fine.
Both machines are running 64 bit Win 7, SP1, autoupdated. The second machine had Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 8 still present when I first installed CS6. When the 'hang' first happened, I uninstalled both, and then reinstalled CS6. Problem persisted. Unistalled and reinstalled CS6 again after reboot.
I installed PS CS6 on my desktop and it opens in seconds, on my 64bit 12 gb ram laptop, it takes over 3 minutes. I tried resetting preferences and disk cache location. CS 5.5 opens in seconds on the same machine. Just installed two days ago, no plug-ins, happened on very first launch after installing.

Acad runs fine. Only frequently after closing a drawing the application crashes.
I've tried to reinstall acad but that doesn't fix the problem.

View 15 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 (64bit), when using the brush tool (with a brush with pressure sensitivity activated), I quite often get a line drawn at the max width selected, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. Everything goes back to normal after I start drawing another line, and happens again after a few lines. It's quite random.
I don't have this problem in any other software (Illustrator CS6 64bit, Painter XII, Sketchbook Pro, Zbrush, ...). I have already checked and I've found some other users on other forums with the same problem.
One example, with a picture of the problem: [URL] Another one, exact same problem: [URL] Some of those users seem to have solved their problem by installing an old driver (6.1.5r3), but they had that problem with Intuos TABLETS in the first place, not a Cintiq 24HD... I have tried that, but unfortunately the driver is not compatible with the Cintiq 24HD.
To test this out: I've been able to reproduce the problem 90% of the times I've tried. if I keep the pen at 1 inch from the display so that it's still recognized by the screen but it's not drawing, then wiggle it a bit, and then I slowly move to the screen and tap it (as if I was starting a line with very low pressure), the problem appears and it makes a large dot, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. As I said the test doesn't work every time, but almost.
This is an image of what happens when I try and make dots in Photoshop. These are done trying to push the pen with the same (low) pressure. The big ones are from when the issue appears: [URL]
I have tried the pressure test in the Wacom utility software and it seems to work fine, it never jump to full even when I try the method I've just described. In the diagnostic page of the Wacom utility software the pressure is always correct, even when in Photoshop there's the brush sensitivity issue.
note: I've already tried to completely re-install my computer + the Adobe software + the lastest wacom driver for my Cintiq 24HD, and the problem is still the same.
Both Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit) and Premiere Pro (64 Bit) Crash on Start up. 32 bit version of Photoshop works fine.

Both are referencing cooltype.dll. I ran Font Doctor on all system and non-system fonts and found no errors. Booted without Extensis Suitcase loading. Nothing works. All 32 bit programs work fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I select clone stamp, then right click for the menu, there is a delay, about one time out of ten. It's the same when I move the mouse onto a pallete; the pointer disappears for a few seconds. Is there a setting I can change to reduce pointer delays?
Also, I'm running a dual-core processor. Do I need to set photoshop up any different?
The lighting effect filter does not respond in CS6. I am on a pc with window 7 64 bit. I have 10 gig ram memory with a ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphic card.
View 4 Replies View Related time it is 3D objects not responding to keyframe animation changes. I have tried creating a new 3D object. I have tried dragging and dropping the new object in to the target doc. I can't copy it withou t rasterizing. Do I have to develop the object from scratch from within the doc? I hope not. the target doc is already very large, this 3D object being the final element. Here are some screen shots
This is what happenes after dragging the 3d object from one spot the another on the canvas. There is only one object. the other is a ghost and disappears after I move in the time line. the actual 3d object remains in the position of the first keyframe no matter how many times I try to move it. Each time I get the "ghost" obejct before moving in the timeline.
Here is a screen shot of the timeline where the keyframes are registering but the object does not move to the new location. Just the "ghost" object appears and then is gone when I move in the timelineHere is the same object on it's own it the original doc . I had no trouble getting it to respond to keframe changes on it's own.acreen shot of the target doc's layer panel. I guess I need to know if there is a way to import a 3D object into a n existing doc without haing to develop in that doc.
So, my laptop crashed, and I had to start again from scratch. I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 from my CD, and it loaded fine. Only now, no matter which tool I choose from the toolbar (blur, zoom, clone, etc,) it will only show the Hand (move tool?) And that doesnt even work.

I use Creative Suite 6 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a Gen 3 Core i7, 12GB of ram and a 3GB Nvidia 670m video card so I know it's definitely not hardware related.

It takes forever when workiing tagging photos, writing comments at bottom of picture etc. I am continually haviing to "wait for program to respond" ???
This morning (10/25/12) after booted my system I had a notification that there was a set of updates to my Photoshop CS6 product set. I went ahead a did the updates which installed successfully. A few minutes later I started up Photoshop Elements 10. The start-up of PSE 10 appeared normal at first, but there was a lot of hard disk activity and the Organizer window would not respond when I tried to move the sliders. I started up Task Manager and could see that PSE 10 was continuing to use processor time. I killed PSE 10 and restarted it. I decided to let it run and so far it's been doing something for over 30 minutes. From time to time the window will flash and occasionally I get an hourglass icon to display over the window. I'm not able to move the window or shrink it. I guess I'll just let it run to see if it will ever become operational. My catalog has entries for about 40,000 images so I'm wondering if the Adobe update affected something in the catalog, although the update did not seem to include anything for PSE. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit edition with all the latest Microsoft updates.

Neither one works Elements2 was okay until I installed 8 then the color palettes locked to HOTPINK.
PSE 10 becomes unstable shortly after start up, per Win 7 system does not respond and win 7 shuts it down. I have removed and reloaded problem occurs more rapidly.

This only started today, and I can't continue with my school work until it's fixed.
When selecting polygons Extrude Settings using either the ribbon or the button, I am unable to enter a number, select any of the spinners (cannot change group to single polygon, cannot increase/decrease amount) and I cannot select Okay (checkmark) Okay and go on, or cancel. At one point the mouse would give a double-headed arrow and allow me to slide the amount up and down, but I still cannot accept it with okay, or cancel it.
It is doing this in all of my saved files, not just one in one project.
When clicking on the icon, the program does not start or respond at all.

Today, in the middle of correcting a large job (500 pictures), it suddenly stopped working. The message is "Lightroom is not responding". Everything is locked up. Eventually, it unlocks, but then, when I try to do anything it locks up again. I have checked my computer for usage issues and other programs are performing normally.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy PSP X3 locked up and I had to use the Task Manager to close it due to "not responding." This has repeated each time I have tried to load the program, including trying the suggestion of pressing "Shift" and trying to launch the program on a reset. There's no error message, it doesn't get that far. The welcome screen loads, shows the program is updating the cache, etc. but then it goes to no response, no error message, just 100% locked up. Have to use the Task Manage every single time to get it to close.
Right before this happened yesterday, I also experienced difficulty copy and pasting one image or selection into another. No paste commands would appear. I tried doing the "clear" selection as posted online, but no real answer on that either.
short of uninstalling and going through all that crap again. I'd buy the latest version, but since I've had no end of problems with this version I am hesitant to move forward if there are more bugs.
Another problem already! My tool options dialog box is greyed out and will not respond; won't allow me to choose options.
I clicked it off and brought it back (via windows, etc.) but it's still grey and nonfunctioning.
How can i make it work?
