Everything else seems to be working fine... except the Import. When I click on Import, nothing happens. LR does not respond and I have to restart. Using LR 4.4, Windows 7 Professional.

Today, in the middle of correcting a large job (500 pictures), it suddenly stopped working. The message is "Lightroom is not responding". Everything is locked up. Eventually, it unlocks, but then, when I try to do anything it locks up again. I have checked my computer for usage issues and other programs are performing normally.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a incosistent problem, in which I cannot determine why it's happening and it doesn't happen all the time. I often restart Lightroom and it is ok after that.
In a small area of the screen the curser doesn't function. I cannot select an image or anything in that area while in the library module and when in the develop module brushes change back to the arrow icon and don't allow me to click in that area.
This is my first time using Lightroom and am currently using version 4.3 that I downloaded from the Mac App store. I am running a new MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.2 Mountain lion.
The usual import menue has the options for importing on the right hand side. My system is now showing an import dialouge box and the import dialouge on the right is greyed out. How do I get back to the standard import screen.

The issue that occurs is after importing images they are adjusted automatically to develop module cross process 1. After dealing with this annoyance for a bit of time I realized that I can not even "RESET ALL" the images to delete the adjustment. In delving into other images that have been in my database for quite some time, I have tried to "RESET ALL", which resets images to CROSS PROCESS 1. I have never set import to automatically adjust.
I just upgraded from LR3.6 to 4.0. When trying to import images the import module freezes for a few minutes and then displays the import screen. However, when selecting a source the program freezes again and eventually crashes.
I had the same issue when upgrading to 3.6 some time ago and then found that disabling some USB controllers solved the problem. This works for LR4 as well. As I don't need all USB connections this is a workable solution, however, disabling controllers should not be necessary to run a program.
System is an Acer Aspire 7811 64 bits w/ Intel i7, Win 7 Home Premium, 8 GB internal mem and no external drives.
I'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.
Illustrator CS4
I'm not exactly sure what happened, but suddenly my Type Tool can not select type by double clicking or click and drag any more.
I'm using Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) on a MacPro with OSX 10.6.8.
I have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

This only started today, and I can't continue with my school work until it's fixed.
When selecting polygons Extrude Settings using either the ribbon or the button, I am unable to enter a number, select any of the spinners (cannot change group to single polygon, cannot increase/decrease amount) and I cannot select Okay (checkmark) Okay and go on, or cancel. At one point the mouse would give a double-headed arrow and allow me to slide the amount up and down, but I still cannot accept it with okay, or cancel it.
It is doing this in all of my saved files, not just one in one project.
I use Auto Import to import my RAW files. Each time LR imports my files the Previous Import count number increases. Is there a way to reset this count so it shows a true reflection of the photos from my previous import session?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you manually import files the Previous Import count number resets itself automatically. I've Googled this problem & this question has been asked before - all users were utilising Auto Import.
I'm trying to import photos into LR3.3, and the thumbnails are grayed out, as is the import button. The photos come from two other cameras -- one Canon Elf, the other I'm not sure. I received them through dropbox, and they open fine with Bridge and Photoshop CS4.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had to reinstall CS5 after a new Windows installation. Never had a problem with it before, but now I have the issue where if I click on a tool that has sub-tools, it now expands to show them. Before, to access them, I had to click and hold for them to appear. Now with them expanding on the first click, it's interrupting my work flow.
Additional issues have arisen while I'm here, such as, when doing web work, I'll change the rectangular marquee to single pixel horizontal (e.g.), make the selection, do what I want with it, then press M to adjust another single pixel line, but it'll return to the full rectangular marquee, like it resets.
I'm running a test at the moment with Open GL disabled, to test drivers or display issues, but it's doing the same thing.

I have noticed that when I click on any button on the Ribbon Panels it now requires more that one click to activate the button.

My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust reinstalled Photoshop CS5 after needing to reinstall Windows 7. Now instead of being to just grab the tool I want, it produces the flyout each time and I have to re-choose what I want to use. This is rather annoying and time consuming, if I am using the same tool.
Can it be coming from Windows or just Photoshop. I did try resetting the preferences and nothing changed.
Everything was working fine on Lightroom4, however now when i click on presets, the options will not drop down and thus i can't use them
View 8 Replies View RelatedOn Windows 7, PS CS6 64bits hangs onto a side of desktop and does not respond as it launches. No error messages. 32 bits works fine. PS5.5 64 bit works fine. Only the regular windows 7 updates (no driver updates or other program updates other than Adobe Acrobat Reader) have been installed since I installed PS CS6 extended.

I notice this happens most often when I am editing attributes of a block, editing text (by double click or through the properties window), or printing to PDF. I am unable to shut down autocad, Windows 7 will not let me end the process in the task manager, and I have to shut off the power on my laptop to force it to shut down. View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I select clone stamp, then right click for the menu, there is a delay, about one time out of ten. It's the same when I move the mouse onto a pallete; the pointer disappears for a few seconds. Is there a setting I can change to reduce pointer delays?
Also, I'm running a dual-core processor. Do I need to set photoshop up any different?
I am using AutoCAD 2010 and when I open and run a drawing for a while the AutoCAD program hangs and won't respond. I have to close the program and then reopen AutoCAD. How come AutoCAD keeps doing this

I've asked this question before, and Adobe's response was something I'd expect from MicroSlop ("it's a feature, not a bug) - specifically, it takes upwards of 25 seconds for the Book module to load (system specs below). Adobe's response was that the individual modules don't load until you click on them. Blurb book quality - I've had a couple of friends, and numerous posts on the Blurb forums, complaining about the quality of their books. I did several with Aperture and had no issues. I no longer own a current license for PathFinder and want Lightroom to use the normal Finder application. I do not have Path Finder even installed any longer and so clicking the button does nothing at all.
