Photoshop opens automatically when I save any image from anyplace on the web and it is nerve racking! CS5 is the version. how to stop it from opening like that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts. When I save a photoshop file as a .png at 300 ppi, when I open it it is 299.999 ppi.
I wouldn't mind for my personal use, but these are digital files I sell. Believe me, I will get emails about it.
Even when I open the .png file and change the ppi to 300, if I open it again it's once again 299.999!
I am saving files with a transparent background with compression no interlacing. I'm using save as, not save for web.
Here's the interesting thing.
1. This started happening when I got my new iMac with Lion and installed CS6. Did both at the same time.
2. My assistant, this happens with my assistant who is on PC with Photoshop CS5.
i am using autocad 2013 student version at home and at college i am using autocad 2012. so when i create drawing in 2013,dosent open on 2012"it says incompatible version". i like to save all my dwg files automatically in 2011 format, i dont want to click save as and change it 2011 format.what i need is whenever i finsh working on drawing, if click save it should automatically save in 2011 format.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe had a project folder named A. We created a new project folder named B and copied the AutoCad files from A to B. On one of our workstations if you open a drawing from folder B, then click save as, the dialog opens to folder A.
Not a big problem, but since the files are named the same it can be confusing...
I just edited my my top 15 pics of a shoot i just did. I saved them in the RAW format. I didnt save the origional NEF, because i didnt want to not have the origional .NEF i took. It also saved a .XMP of the file. Ok, so saving goes fine, but when I open it again... it asks me about size, and some other things... I have no idea why its asking these things... I put in some numbers close to the picture size... and it opens grayscale, and totally distorted....most of them are just many lines...
View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to save files that are processed from Camera raw to tiff in CS 5 . The pop up window shows a different folder from where the just processed file was located. The preferences 'save file options is set(checked) 'Save as to orginal folder' Not sure what to do . After further tries I noted that the ' save as' dialogue indicates the saved folder is 'my documents' . This only occurs with files saved a Tiff or PSD . When a jpeg file is opened and then saved it is saved in the folder it originated from. Is this perhaps a windows 7 setup issue?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I open one particular image in photoshop CS3 the thumb in the Open menu looks correct, but the image opens with a reddish tinge over the whole thing. If I then double-click the image layer in the Layers window, the Layer Style menu pops up, the tinge removes itself and the image looks as it should. The problem I've been noticing for a while now has been especially in OSX, now also on windows 7 is that whenever I have a PSD file open and go SAVE AS as a JPG alot of times I tend to do a batch from a single psd with different version.. ( name01.jpg name02.jpg name03.jpg etc.)
What I came across is that sometimes I tend to forget to select JPEG from the drop down menu (because the window always displays Photoshop File as default).
What happens is that Photoshop File is in the drop down menu and I name my file Name01.jpg it saves it as a Photoshop File with a .jpg extension. which confuses everyone that tries to open that file because they cant and its huge..
I remember on windows XP when this happened photoshop was kind enough to name my file Name01.jpg.psd which made the file stand out and approprietly named.
Aside from the whole .PSD .JPG issue with this not adding the appropriate extension automatically, this also causes problems when I name a file Name01 photoshop leaves it at that and does not add any extention to it so it becomes an orphan file on foreign computers.. It doesn't happen often but when it does I want to punch my computer in the face.
I'm sure I'm not the only one saving JPGs from Photoshop in large numbers that this happened to..

It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?

If I open Images with "Edit in Photoshop" that DO NOT HAVE Adjustments, the image will open up in Photoshop correctly. I just came from Windows to Mac.
I use gimp for basic graphic work on images my clients send me. I mostly receive vector pdf's, but sometimes when i open them, the image is displayed all in white with a white background. i've played around in gimp to try and get the image to show but cannot succeed. i know there is an image in the file because i send it to a friend who uses illustrator and he manages to make the image appear somehow.
How can i make the image appear using Gimp.
Everything has worked perfectly until today. Yesterday evening, I received an update notice from Adobe for an update called Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 and I agreed to let install. It installed.
That seems to be where the problem started. Now, when I send an image from LR to Photoshop, it does not open. The "Edit in" command isn't working. PS opens, but the image does not appear.
I just downloaded and reinstalled PS CS6. I then asked PS CS6 to update, which it did. When finished, there was an error saying that Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 could not install. Error code: U44M1P7
The good news is that now it all works again! So, the problem lies in the Infrastructure update, which I will not allow to update again.
