I use autocad architecture 2013 and it works just fine until the save turns to qsave whenever i want to save a drawing by save, save as and ctrl+s it works as qsave..how can I turn it back to SAVE ?
As many of us seam to do the option to save by default to an older version of AutoCAD or universal DXF format is selected, my problem is however when you save an existing drawing a prompt appears asking if 'Drawing*.dxf last saved in AutoCAD 2004 format. Save in AutoCAD 2013 Drawing format?' this has annoyed me for years!
I have set it as default DXF 2014 for a good reason I don’t want a prompt asking me if I want to then save it as 2013 or I would have set it like that on my default setting, gets on your nerves when you are doing 100's of files.

Seems that the Save format keeps getting changed back to 2010 in AutoCAD 2013. We set the Save Preferences to save as 2013 in the Options > Open & Save > File Save: Save As box to 2013.
It seems that if you open an older version of AutoCAD, say v2010, then the next time you want to save a drawing (not necessarily the drawing you just opened, but another one you are working on) even if it was already in v2013, it gets saved back to v2010. And when you go back into the options dialog, it now is set to save everything as v2010. This wouldn't be so annoying if it didn't take 30 seconds to save the drawing as a v2010 drawing. There is a substantial difference in the time it takes to save a drawing to v2010 when using AutoCAD 2013.
Is there a way to make it stick to saving as a v2013 format?
When I change the User Preferences "right click customization" to "Repeat Last Command" and "ENTER" then hit "Apply & Close" it reverts back to the default settings.
I recently upgraded AutoCAD to 2013. It now appears that we need to drop the save as format back down to 2010 format.
I realise that there is a reg edit for "defaultFormatForSave" which can be changed to "48" but when a user first runs AutoCAD this setting is overwritten.
How to change the default save format to the 2010 format?
When I export a file from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop Elements 11 to edit. I make my edits, then click "Save." For some reason it opens the "Save-As" dialog box. How can I fix this so that I only click "Save" and then let the file return to Lightroom?
When I save as DXF, I have to manually go into options on the save tab and click "default DXF configuration," otherwise it exports the file as a ZIP folder. I can't figure out how to save the configuration so I dont have to manually do that everytime, im sure it something simple, as it usually is..
why I'd get this error when doing an Export to AutoCAD 2010/2007/2004...? It seems to be innocuous, and irrelevant, but it's disturbing none-the-less. I haven't been able to identify any reason why it appears, and all drawings seem to work normally, with no problems. AUDITs turn up no errors. So I've just been ignoring this message, but it's distracting. And it doesn't always appear... although I haven't been able yet to identify what causes it to appear in some drawings, and not others. I think it only ever happens when there's an XREF, but not sure... (Maybe when an XREF is in an older version of C3D/LDD/AutoCAD...?)
Over the years I have had to occassionally save (export) an Inventor idw into an AutoCAD dwg file. Now, at IV version 2013, does it still not happen correctly. Why doesn't the process export the title block, border, notes, etc. into AutoCAD's paper space and export the model and dimensions into model space all in one step. It's either all paper space or all model space. Then I have to spend time to correct the AutoCAD drawing. Is there a better method to do this that results in a correct AutoCAD drawing in one export step? Maybe a third party software?
Working in a assembly and just edited an existing note in the Engineering notebook. Clicked the "X" to close the assembly.... what? no prompt to save the file?
Just checked adding a note to a ipt and it doesn't dirty the file either, so if you only add a new engineering note, you have to save it, cause it won't prompt you before closing.
I have a problem. I use AutoCAD 2010. I want to know the use click save or discard button when close the document. I know the "Saved" Property of AcadDocument can tell me the result. However, I could not use the AcadDocument Class. Because there is another plug-in, when i use the com class just like AcadDocument , it will tell some error.so i only can use .net Class just like Document. Is there any Proprty to get it ?
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
In my quest to remove any unnecessary clicks I want to be able to set the default location when you press Save, Save As, Demote or 'Save and replace component'.
Default it will show up a file save as dialogue starting from my workspace. Or my last saved location. I believe this is stored in the registry and hope to Intelligent adjust these registry value's using VBA.
When diving into the registry I believe I found the right keys here:
Seeing if there is a option/3rd party plug in where it will save a dwf(x) along with the inventor files - WITHOUT using vault.I'm Currently using Inventor 2013.
All of the sudden, when I go to the pull down menu and click "Save As", instead of the window opening where I can physically choose where I want to save or save over, I get the file directory in the command line. I even typed in the folder directory and it still doesn't save it there. Why the sudden change?
i'm having a problem with maya 2011 , i can't open some file and sometime the program don't save and an error message appear saying i "maya could not save", i've got to send my work next saturday and i'm desperate now .
I just recently upgraded from WinXP64 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and everything is good… aside from the fact that everytime I save the files, it is realy slow
I never had this issue before (although when I think about it, I used to work on another Win7 station a few months ago and I had the same issue)
I think the reason is OS related as everytime I click on save, it “re-creates” the file from scratch… This is not much of a problem on small files… but I have scenes that are over 500MB each and it takes forever to save everytime (not that the scene unreliability is not enough!!!)
I've got a white UI button with 3D shading and transparency. The white button looks great. I want a red button, so I turned off the green and blue channels (and left on the red and alpha channels). The red button looks great.
A red button is being displayed under GIMP. When I save the red button as a PNG, the button saves as white rather than red. How to save/export to file using GIMP 2.6?
I am trying to save a *.DWG file to *.DXF format. The DXF file is created, but when i tried to open the same DXF file in AutoCAD,it is showing as "not a Valid DXF file".
When i used the save as command in Autocad, it is showing different dxf file formats(AutoCAD 2010 DXF,AutoCAD 2007 /LT 2007 DXF etc..). How to save in particular DXF format. If possible give me a sample C# code for this.
i have big problem to save in Autocad 2011, then we save in 2007 DWG format it takes up to 3-4 min even local this problem exist, reinstalled i computer totally clean, no antivirus just windows 7 and updated, even disabled fidelity. then i save in 2010 format it goes fast.
Am doing a lot of pix-editing.. Would like to disable the save conformation pop-up, so edit saves on first click-save.. There's too much repetition in commands in the computer these days.. It isn't efficient enough to be smooth when the user is in high-gear.. Seems OS's cater to those who make mistakes and can't think.. I.E.: "eliminating delete confirmations".. You hard lesson lose only one file of pix, or notes, then never do it again...
Would be nice if there was a tiny dot on the window, just under the pix, that saves the edit to where it originated, when clicked... Would be sweet if the user could disable all the time wasting safety features, and just have Gimp save the edit every 60-seconds, like word processors do...
Been trying to save files that are processed from Camera raw to tiff in CS 5 . The pop up window shows a different folder from where the just processed file was located. The preferences 'save file options is set(checked) 'Save as to orginal folder' Not sure what to do . After further tries I noted that the ' save as' dialogue indicates the saved folder is 'my documents' . This only occurs with files saved a Tiff or PSD . When a jpeg file is opened and then saved it is saved in the folder it originated from. Is this perhaps a windows 7 setup issue?
I am trying to optimize an image in Photoshop CS5 and when I click on File to Save to the Web the dialog box is too big and I cannot reach the commands at the bottom to change anything.
