Routine to select DWG files in a folder and save these files in DXF format?
1) Select files in folder;
2) Open select files, save each in dxf format; If there is already a dxf file with the same name, replace.
3) Close files.
I am trying to save a *.DWG file to *.DXF format. The DXF file is created, but when i tried to open the same DXF file in AutoCAD,it is showing as "not a Valid DXF file".

When i used the save as command in Autocad, it is showing different dxf file formats(AutoCAD 2010 DXF,AutoCAD 2007 /LT 2007 DXF etc..). How to save in particular DXF format. If possible give me a sample C# code for this.
I have many texts fields in my drawing. I need edit the format of all field. e.g field - 1030.60 convert to - 1.030,60 Is there any lisp doing that? I mean, select multiple field and change it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to finalize a routine which extracts attributes (created in all CAPS) from a drawing, does a bit of list handling and then will finally write each item of that list to its own line out to a TXT file.
I've had a request from an end-user to change the case of the words in the TXT file from all UPPERCASE to having each Word Capitalized Within Each Item :
e.g. :
the raw list is currently:
"DINING ROOM 1209" "LIBRARY1210" "CORRIDOR A100" "COPY ROOM 1215"
and the current output to TXT file:
DINING ROOM 1209
LIBRARY1210
CORRIDOR A100
COPY ROOM 1215
But I'd like the list to be processed within AutoCAD so that its format is changed to:
"Dining Room 1209" "Library 1210" "Corridor A100" "Copy Room 1215"
because the desired output to the TXT file is:
Dining Room 1209
Library 1210
Corridor A100
Copy Room 1215
Is there any way to convert ALL CAPS to more of a Capitalized format?
I am looking for a way to force all DWG files created with previous versions of AutoCAD to automatically open "Read Only". For example, using Civil 3D 2011, I open a file that is a 2007 format DWG. I want this file to automatically open read only, and inform the user that it has opened read only.
I'm hoping that this is possible, since opening a 2007 format DWG in a newer AutoCAD already tells you that it's an older format in the command line, and files can already be opened as read only.
I am new autolisp user (i use autocad civil 3D 2012), i try to coding there but it doesn't have "save" option. How to save the file i've made?

how to write a lisp command, or function, that will save my newly created drawing with a file name is that is called up from a variable.
For example:

and i would want the outcome to be: variable.dwg, rather than filename.dwg. I have tried numerous different ways of doing this with command prompt and cant seem to get anything to stick. Everything that works just creates a file named "filename.dwg", which is not what i want to do.

I attached some DGN files for test purpose.
I need to save an additional copy of a AutoCAD drawing whenever I press the save button.
Simply put, Every time I press save the autocad drawing is saved (Obviously!!!) but
I also need to save an exact copy of the drawing in a folder called (for eample only) "C:TestFolder"
I can do this using DxfOut for dxf files but I need to do this for dwg files.
Can it be done whenever I press the "save" button.
I need to find a way to find a good replacement for "SAVE" command to use it within Reactor. I want to save A COPY of my current ("active") DWG document to another place *without making it current* (just like command "SAVE" does and did it always). I know I could use (vla-saveAs ...) to save it first to another Folder and then use (vla-save ...) to save it back to its current Folder, but there must be a way to do it simply and fast.

I am running autocad 2011 for mac to design sails. I was given a autolisp file that will automate the majority of the process, but it uses a .dcl file to input all the numbers. Unfortunately .dcl files are not support with the Mac version and therefore I am looking for any solutions.
- Is there another way to input the information and therefore link the lsp file to something different?
- Is it easy to re-write the lisp file and input directly into that?
At the moment the time I am wasting researching how to make the .lsp program work, I could have hand drawn most of the sails anyway!
If it is possible to load old r14 FAS files into more recent ACAD versions, will it work on r2012 f.e.

I can install the toolbars in Autocad 2013 but when I try to execute on of the commands, either by toolbar icon or command line, I get the message "Unknown Command".

i am wondering if it is possible to alter a specific attribute in cca 250 files? I have this template which has like 50-70 attributes,but not all of them are used. I have to change only one attribute in all of the files. For instance, i have an attribute with a specisfic tag, but the content of it is ie MARK, i want to change MARK to PETER, without having to open,click,retype,save,close every file. Is it possible to automatize it somehow? maybe lisp, batch or even VB?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a lisp routine that gathers all xrefs from the current drawing and creates a script that opens each xref, runs specific commands then saves/closes each drawing. Once all commands have been ran in each xref I would like the script to reload all xrefs in the original drawing that the script was called from. I have a reload-all lisp that is already loaded in all of my drawings but for some reason when this command is called at the end of the script it will not run.
Is there a way to have the script continue to run in the original drawing that it was called from? Or maybe even pass control back to the lisp that created/called the script? Its seems to me that the easiest thing would be to have the script continue to run after it has gone through all of the specified drawings but this is not working.
As you can see, if i rename this to "acad.lsp" and put it in the network search path of AutoCAD users, it will update several settings in their Options > Files. WHAT A TIME SAVER THIS HAS BEEN!
What i want to do now is to set the "Default Template File Name for QNEW" but i don't know how to complete this line:

I am using autocad 2013 and importing PDFs into the drawing and recently the OSnap points within the pdf are missing. The PDFs are of floorplans and I was able to measure from wall to wall using endpoints and midpoints. Now I am only able to select the endpoints on the frame of the pdf.
Is there a switch that might have been turned off?
Is it possible to loop through multiple files in a directory?

Is there any way for me to choose a bunch of .dsd files, and have those be batch plotted?At the moment I have to publish one .dsd file at a time, and each .dsd file can take about 10 minutes to go through all the layouts I have.
Does Autocad have that capability built in? Or is this a problem that can be solved with scripts?
