Everything has worked perfectly until today. Yesterday evening, I received an update notice from Adobe for an update called Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 and I agreed to let install. It installed.
That seems to be where the problem started. Now, when I send an image from LR to Photoshop, it does not open. The "Edit in" command isn't working. PS opens, but the image does not appear.
I just downloaded and reinstalled PS CS6. I then asked PS CS6 to update, which it did. When finished, there was an error saying that Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 could not install. Error code: U44M1P7
Â
The good news is that now it all works again! So, the problem lies in the Infrastructure update, which I will not allow to update again.
Windows 7, 64 bit
Photoshop CS6, all updates
Lightroom 4.1, all updates
The Organizer and the Editor stopped working together in just 1 of my catalogs. It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?
In Lightroom 4.2 when open and I want to edit in PSE 10, I go to Photo, edit in PSE 10, and PSE 10 opens, but there is no image. I want to edit in PSE 10 and can't. Using LR 4.2, and attempting to edit in PSE 10, PSE 10 opens but no image opens to edit
I ran MacKeeper the onter day and it actually fixed all my woes, however, when I went to open Photoshop, it only opens in 64bit mode. Could be a coinsidence.I quadroople checked that it is selected to open in 32bit mode in the "Get info" window and rebooted many times, but I can't get Photoshop to open in 32bit mode.I was hoping that there is something I am missing before I have to reinstall.
After a computer crash, all my files and programs were restored, and most everything is working normally again. However when I open Photoshop Elements it no longer opens my catalog. How do I locate my catalog?
This is for .MXF files shot on a Canon XF300. Things were working fine, but suddenly I am unable to open those mxf files in AE CS6. Even projects previously created with AE CS6 now won't open, and give me the 'file damaged or unsupported' error message in AE. The file locations are identical.  I've found workarounds, but they fall a very long way short of the convenience of using Dynamic Link from the Premiere Pro CS6 timeline. There are lots of hits if you Google, but most go back a version or two, or suggest converting the MXF clips to an AE friendly format.Â
My properties dialogue box no longer opens on my screen. I've tried opening it uning the icon and the command line with no luck. When I click the icon my screen will flicker bun the box does not open. how to get it back?
I have been using PSE 6 happily on my iMac under OS 10.6.8. Now it won't open fully. I get a blank opening screen and functionality. Tried deleting and copying my programme from backup but same result. The installer only works once. What can I do.
Whenever I open photos from Lightroom (that already have lightroom adjustments) edit in Photoshop CC only opens Photoshop but does not open the image. Â If I open Images with "Edit in Photoshop" that DO NOT HAVE Adjustments, the image will open up in Photoshop correctly. I just came from Windows to Mac.
I just edited my my top 15 pics of a shoot i just did. I saved them in the RAW format. I didnt save the origional NEF, because i didnt want to not have the origional .NEF i took. It also saved a .XMP of the file. Ok, so saving goes fine, but when I open it again... it asks me about size, and some other things... I have no idea why its asking these things... I put in some numbers close to the picture size... and it opens grayscale, and totally distorted....most of them are just many lines...
I use gimp for basic graphic work on images my clients send me. I mostly receive vector pdf's, but sometimes when i open them, the image is displayed all in white with a white background. i've played around in gimp to try and get the image to show but cannot succeed. i know there is an image in the file because i send it to a friend who uses illustrator and he manages to make the image appear somehow.
I purchased a photo online and it will only open in raw format. I try to save it and it turns into a washed out mess. I want this to look like the file I saw online. Is there a way to open and save without it turning into a washed out mess?
I am attempting to have photoshop open a 16bit grayscale ramp that I generated in matlab, but a problem is occuring with mach banding still occuring eventhough photoshop is setup to be working in 10bit images right now. Are there other settings that I need to change inorder to fix this problem. (also I am using a 10bit monitor which is why I am working in the higher bits).
When I open one particular image in photoshop CS3 the thumb in the Open menu looks correct, but the image opens with a reddish tinge over the whole thing. If I then double-click the image layer in the Layers window, the Layer Style menu pops up, the tinge removes itself and the image looks as it should. None of the other images I've been working on have this happening. Does anyone know what's up here. This is a .psd file with no layers above the image layer.
Photoshop opens automatically when I save any image from anyplace on the web and it is nerve racking! CS5 is the version. how to stop it from opening like that?
I use Photoshop 6. Whenever I open an image, it opens with crop tools around it. I would like to change that and have the images open with the Move tool selected instead. How an I change this default?
For some unknown reason when I try to open an image file using PSE9 the image opens at 1% resolution instead of full screen. I have to manually enlarge the file to 100% and then enlarge it's window as well. I've already tried re-installing the software but the problem persists. Using Mac OS10.6.8
I cannot figure out why Lightroom keeps opening by itself. I thought it had to do with the backup software I installed that was syncing my files. But I uninstalled that software. It opens to the import dialog window. If Lightroom is already open, it will maximize that window and beep.
On Windows 7, R-clicking on an image shows "Open With" CS6 but only 64 bit opens. How to also have 32bit as a choice? Since the majority of my plugins only work on 32bit I find using 64bit unfortunately useless. Hence I wold like to know if it is possible to right-click on asn image with explorer and have it open the 32bit version.
I have installed Lightroom 5 via Adobe Cloud; I also have Lightroom 4 installed. When I plug my camera into my mac, Lightroom 4 continues to open, even if I have Lightroom 5 already open. I have already deselected any options in prefs in v4 that might be making this happen. Short of uninstalling v4, is there any way to stop v4 from opening?
I own Lightroom V 3.4. Everytime I insert a flashdrive or SD Card into my computer, Lightroom automatically launches. How can I turn off that feature?Â
When I go to edit a photo in Photoshop CC from Lightroom 5, it opens Photoshop from my backup hard drive and I get this message: "The application has been moved, and its path has changed. To update the product configuration, click Update." This slows down the process. How can I edit the path so that Photoshop opens from my main hard drive?
Using Lightroom 3.5. It seems to me in the past that my images would import and the 2010 process would be applied automatically. However, no matter what I do, I'm getting to the "!" on my new imports. But I guess I have forgotten what to do to force Lightroom to default to the 2010 process.
When I open an image in PS CS6 all is well. Once I move the document, it snaps itself to the top left. If I move it and try to place it somewhere else, it moves itself a little higher to the top left. The more I move it the more it snaps higher. If I move it over 5 times it covers the main menu bar (File  Edit  Layer  View  Filter) and so on. This renders the app useless as you can no no longer access the native menu to do anything to the image.  I am on Windows 7x64 (SP1) with a Wacom Tablet. Within PS I've disabled, Tabs for windows (Both check marks) as well as Flick Panning, and animated zoom.
The other day the hand tool stopped moving the layer that is active. The spacebar still changes the current cursor to the hand tool but when I click and drag nothing moves. I can still select the move tool and move the layer but it's like hitting a speed bump in your work flow.
I've clicked though the PS options but haven't been able to find a "move tool function the way it's supposed to" on/off switch. Could anyone offer any insight?
Have downloaded L/R5 and am attempting to import for the first time. Source is "EOS_DIGIGTAL" SD card from Canon EOS. All pictures are on the card. When selecting "Import", a new window opens which is a "Copy as DNG" which, during reading all tutorials, is never mentioned. I would like to just import directly from the source card to Macintosh HD. Also, "NO PHOTOS" shows as well.
