CS5, window 7, 64 bit. Inexplicably, CS5 just stops working with PNG & GIF format files. Bridge says it's missing a/the java plug-in. Huh? Java is up to date at OS level.
View 12 RepliesI have the Creative Suite cs5.1 student version (had it for about a year now), and now recently I have started to encounter a strange bug with Photoshop.
Sometimes when I have been working in PS for a while and then open another file, the photoshop starts acting weird, resulting in the file looking like this: [URL] .....
And if I try to paint anything, it will look pixelated like in this file:Â [URL] .... and if I use ctrl+z after painting the paint just looks like this:Â [URL]...... the 2 last named effects will also apply for any images opened before this occurrence, and it happens for any file type.
I have checked my video card drivers, and they are up to date, so that's not a problem (My graphics card is ATI Radeon 5700 series). I've also run a throughout virus scan with Norton without it finding anything.
the Photoshop CS5.1 that I have installed on my Windows 7 64b has stopped working. It still works on my other computer though. It starts up just fine, but when I go to Open a PSD file (which I have edited here before) nothing happens -- absolutely nothing! When I try to create a new file the same nothing happens. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall or something. I don't think I've made any updates to Photoshop, it just stopped working this week for no apparent reason that I can think of. I also went back and tried my CS5 version and the same thing happens.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am a paying subscriber of Adobe CC and my problem is this. After about 15 minutes of use in Photoshop CC (32 or 64 bit), it suddenly stops letting me either create a new file or open an existing one. I select File->New->the new document dialog appears and I select the defaults and click OK. Nothing happens. Same thing with File->Open->select an existing image file and it never appears.
 If I reboot my computer or logout and sign in with a different account, re-open Photoshop CC, it allows me to create and open files without issue...for about 15 minutes and then the same thing happens. This is NOT an illegal copy of the program! I am a paid subscriber.
When I double-click a file it will open the file in CS6 version 13.0.1, but then after a while double-clicking will no longer open jpeg or raw files. I can open the same files by going to File > Open in the Menu Bar.

When I am simply opening downloaded files from my camera, I can open 200-300 by double-clicking with no problems. However, at times when I am working on an image, it is not long before I can't open a file by double-clicking. It will open a blank Photoshop window, but without any Toolbar or Menu Bars.

This happens on a regular basis. Sometimes, also, Photoshop is slow to Quit, for no apparent reason.
CS5 has suddenly started opening files with the default magnification of 0.12%. This means images appear as tiny specks of dust in a very small window and typing 'cmd-0' has no effect. Typing 'cmd-1' does enlarge the image to actual pixels but the window stays postage stamp size and has to be manually dragged larger. Typing 'cmd-0' again at this stage returns us to 0.12%.

Resetting the zoom tool or anything else I can think of has no effect.
Since upgrading the server in our office Autocad 2013 is having trouble opening files. Â When I attempt to open a file the progress bar gets to about 85%, a "not responding" message comes up for about 15-20 seconds, and then the file opens. Â Two workstations in the office have AutoCAD 2013, one has 8GB RAM and Windows 7 64 bit, the other has 16GB of RAM and also a WIndows 7 64 bit OS. Â Neither PC had issues opening files before the new server went in, and neither PC is having problems with any other network program. Â Is there somewhere within the program or in Autocad's registry entries that might still be pointing to the old server? Â I have tried the following, Firewall has been turned off, VP has been disabled, repair has been run on the program (through programs and features in the control panel). Â I have email support through Autocad and sent them an email this morning, but have yet to receive a response.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently have installed Corel Draw x5 and everything was working perfectly fine when all of a sudden it stopped opening .cgm files. It will pop up the message of Corel Draw has stopped working and then I click OK and it closes the program. Every other file extension I have tried opens prefectly fine.
Here are a couple of things that I've done so far:
1. Reverted back to a Default Workspace.
2. Closed out all Dockers.
3. Reinstalled entire program and all features. Updated all patches and Clean booted the PC with only MS Services running. (As instructed by Corel Support)
So I recently created a 350 frames long animation, which I then tried to render out as an .avi using the mental ray renderer.
I have it set up in the render setup to render from frame 0 - 350, I have also chosen the output format.
Everything seems to work fine and dandy, the frames are rendered out nicely but then all of a sudden after about 40-50 frames it just stops rendering. The little window containing the progress bar just seems to disappear and in the render preview window is a half rendered image.
I have tried redoing this 3 times, but every time it just stops rendering at about the same place. The first time it stopped at frame 43, the second time at frame 47 and the third time somewhere inbetween.
I use PS CS4 for photo editing and digital scrapbooking. For the past few weeks I have had some issues opening layered psd files of digital layouts that I have saved. They save properly but when I open them there is nothing but a black document with a red stripe going across the top. Can someone please help? Here are a few screen shots of what I am getting. In the first one you will see that the thumbnail is an actual image of the document and the second one is a screen shot of that document when I open it. ETA: This does NOT happen all the time. I have successfully saved and opened some psd files since having this issue for the first time a few weeks ago. I just can't seem to pinpoint what has happened prior to the psd file not opening properly.

(2) When I go to save as jpeg, the file type defaults to eps. And even when I change to jpg, I get a dialog about eps options.

The only way I found to get around this was to convert my files to 16 bit. That certainly shouldn't be necessary.(I'm using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac running Mountain Lion)
I have a new Mac (2x2.4GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 12GB Ram, OS X 10.8.2) and the latest version of Photoshop (13.0.4) installed.Besides the general slower behaviour sometimes, opening and saving files with 80+ layers is unacceptably slow..This is like going back 10 years compared to CS5.5

used uninstaller to uninstall complete Creative Suite package. Used Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.app afterwards.  Reinstalled.  Still it crashes.

After opening and using photoshop cs6 for a few minutes I get a box popping up saying Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." So far never received any notifications about a solution. I notice that it closes soon after I try a CTRL T to select an image.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using corel X6 64 on a Dell optiplex 9010 intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. 8.00GB of RAM. Its taking about 1-2 minutes to copy/cut/open a file/save a file or even publish to PDF. On the same machine Same circumstances but different User i have no problem. I have to use my user because its connected to my email and at this company i cant change that. I have researched many forums and its not color styles or object styles. It does it on a new file with only one object created. I got a new computer signed on to my user account and the problem persists.

My normal workflow is:

Open RAW file, edit, then separately save PSD and JPG in Irfanview (maybe an odd choice but it's familiar and easy to use).

Just recently I've noticed a problem in Irfanview when entering and saving IPTC data, in that suddenly I'm told the file isn't found, when I try to open it the image area is black, and all I can do is delete it. This is possibly unrelated to my PSE 12 problem, however each time the only way to get a usable copy of the JPG is to re-open the PSD in Elements and re-save as a JPG.

Today, in Elements, when I go to Save As (my usual choice) I go through the usual process but when I check on my hard drive the JPG hasn't been saved.
I have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?
Just tried to edit in Color Efex from Lightroom and got the dialogue. So...it's only happening with Photoshop. I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling with updated Camera Raw 6.7 plugin. No luck....
My HP had win 7 pro issues and then blew its motherboard so i replaced it. I reloaded Video Studio Pro X3 which worked fine until I tried to save the edited video as a mpeg-4 HD (to be converted into an AVI later). It starts saving and then shut downs informing me to contact Corel and give them the data dump to figure out what the problem is. of course, i can not contact Corel who directed me to this forum. I did download and install the critical update but the same error occurs.

So when I attempt to open eps file, it simply hangs, and eventually says NOT RESPONDING. As I type this I've been attempting to open a file for over 30 minutes. I've tried rebooting to no avail.

Was working fine, then one day went to edit a file and got a message saying could not open due to program error.
I have reset preferences and turned version cue off, but still nothing works.
I have previewed the "flattened" image in brava, and in the open console of adobe, so i can see the file is there.
I have reinstalled adobe, but still nothing.
I have tried saving new images and opening them, but they will not!
Bridge CS6 always stops importing the files from my D800 via USB 3.0 after exactly 6 jpg files are transferred. In mixed nef+jpg as well as in jpg only mode. No matter if CF only or SD only or both cards are used. No problem with .nef only.To change the target directory to another SSD or HD makes no difference.

But at the same USB 3.0 ports (I tried them all), no problem whatsoever to do the transfer via Windows Explorer. So I guess it must be something with Bridge and USB3.0 and jpgs from the D800.System is a brand new W7Ultimate64 on an IvyBridge Z77 platform.
I'm using CS5 on a mac. I've always been able to save JPG files with clipping paths intact. Suddenly today the paths won't save. I do a 'save as' and the path is there. When I close the file and open it up again, the path (not work path, but a saved path) is gone. No path in the path panel list! I am guessing I must have accidentally changed a setting?

the save option is available but when click it nothing happens and save for web is working i need to do lot of work and i m not able to save psd file.
Okay, so basically I selected some 40 images in .bmp to load into Photoshop, but it stops working and closes. I don't have any other versions installed and I already tried installing it again, with no avail. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Should I also try installing Bridge again?

Suddenly today, Photoshop is slow like molasses to open & save files. Lots of progress bars and wait cursors. Everything else on the Mac is fine. It boots quickly & normally, and other apps are happy. My boot drive, a clean installed Mountain Lion system, says S.M.A.R.T. Status: Verified. In Activity Monitor, a process with ID # 0, Kernel Task, was using 700 to 800 MB RAM, while another process, mds, with ID # 44, is using 350 MB RAM.

I should add that I booted from a backup system and its copy of Photoshop was also doing the same thing. In addition, a high level troubleshooter on Apple Discussions informed me that my present level of 500 MB RAM for Kernel Task is normal. So all I know is Photoshop is suddenly slow.

There was a problem with the selected file or folder. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted. - Error Code -6640" I does this while saving too, which means I have to save files, then go back into Explorer and move them manually.
