View 1 RepliesI have not used it in a few months went to start it up and all I get is the splash screen and the little time circle but nothing happens. Says it is not responding and shuts down. Worked fine when I last used it months ago. No real change in the computer. It was a paid for copy. I looked for my old downloads but can't seem to find it yet, must have burned it some back up media. I found the serial number on Corels website under my account but no redownload.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I make all new files always start as RGB files as opposed to CMYK? I couldn't find this online or in the preferences.

Was working fine, then one day went to edit a file and got a message saying could not open due to program error.
I have reset preferences and turned version cue off, but still nothing works.
I have previewed the "flattened" image in brava, and in the open console of adobe, so i can see the file is there.
I have reinstalled adobe, but still nothing.
I have tried saving new images and opening them, but they will not!
Today when I was exploring the options renaming in library mode in order to keep the development settings my images have. Suddenly, on my hard drive I saw an entire photo folder filled with xmp files! No xmp files were visible before this and I have checked my catalog settings to make sure that writing to xmp files was not checked.
I don't use separate xmp files - Is there a way to merge the xmp files with their associated photo file? Can I delete them without loosing my develop settings and key words?
I have used Lightroom since v2 and currently on v5.3. Have been upgrading regularly and everything was working perfectly until today.
I'm using CS5 on a mac. I've always been able to save JPG files with clipping paths intact. Suddenly today the paths won't save. I do a 'save as' and the path is there. When I close the file and open it up again, the path (not work path, but a saved path) is gone. No path in the path panel list! I am guessing I must have accidentally changed a setting?
View 1 Replies View Related i use windows 7 ultimat with 2gb memory and around 300 graphic ram i was using cs from a month and it was working fine. but recently it stopped saving file. whether by commands or going menu option.
the save option is available but when click it nothing happens and save for web is working i need to do lot of work and i m not able to save psd file.
Window 7 64bit
quad core, 8 GB RAM
Olympus EM-5 and E-5
Yesterday Lightroom handled a bunch of files from these cameras and today it gives me a message "The following files were not imported because they could not be read." same answer for both ORF (Olympus raw) and jpeg's. The files will open in Elements. Reformattng cards both CF and SD) uninstalling LR and downloading a new install.
After this error when I click cancel to delete the files and start again shows the same error deleting the remaining files.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy is Bridge CS6 suddenly slow to open files?
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe Photoshop CS5.1 that I have installed on my Windows 7 64b has stopped working. It still works on my other computer though. It starts up just fine, but when I go to Open a PSD file (which I have edited here before) nothing happens -- absolutely nothing! When I try to create a new file the same nothing happens. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall or something. I don't think I've made any updates to Photoshop, it just stopped working this week for no apparent reason that I can think of. I also went back and tried my CS5 version and the same thing happens.

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy 8 core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro has 10 GB RAM and a blank 100 GB scratch disk. Photoshop is always quick. Has been for years. Suddenly today, Photoshop is slow like molasses to open & save files. Lots of progress bars and wait cursors. Everything else on the Mac is fine. It boots quickly & normally, and other apps are happy. My boot drive, a clean installed Mountain Lion system, says S.M.A.R.T. Status: Verified. In Activity Monitor, a process with ID # 0, Kernel Task, was using 700 to 800 MB RAM, while another process, mds, with ID # 44, is using 350 MB RAM.
I should add that I booted from a backup system and its copy of Photoshop was also doing the same thing. In addition, a high level troubleshooter on Apple Discussions informed me that my present level of 500 MB RAM for Kernel Task is normal. So all I know is Photoshop is suddenly slow.
Out of the blue, when I re-import Photoshopped files back into LR3, they fail to appear in Grid View. But they DO APPEAR in the 'Import' screen, grayed out, as normal. So why is LR suddenly not showing them in Grid View.Here's a screenshot of the import window that clearly shows the image that does NOT appear in Grid View. Notice that image# 2012_3_4-Edit.tif resides immediately next to it's original 2012_3_4.tif file. It obviously is part of the catalog, LR knows it's there but it does not appear in the Grid. I really need a solution to this because I've build my workflow around moving files around with LR and this is a major setback for me now.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCS5 has suddenly started opening files with the default magnification of 0.12%. This means images appear as tiny specks of dust in a very small window and typing 'cmd-0' has no effect. Typing 'cmd-1' does enlarge the image to actual pixels but the window stays postage stamp size and has to be manually dragged larger. Typing 'cmd-0' again at this stage returns us to 0.12%.
Resetting the zoom tool or anything else I can think of has no effect.
i have a drawing i am working and somehow i lost my linetypes that use shape files, anything with text in the linetype work fine. I have tried to reload the shape file, compile it and to no avail. my file directories are pointing in the right direction and everytime i load and compile it goes to correct file and directory.
The reason i say i caused it is they were in the drawing working fine, and 1 or 2 commands later gone, I tried to insert the drawing into a new drawing and that did not work. if i start a new drawing it works fine.
suddenly elements six freezes when trying to import files .Faststone Image viewer imports the same files without problems .

View 3 Replies View Relatedthe logos i created are suddenly no longer editable, neither paths nor text! i can select each element with the selection tool but anchor points don't show up so i can't edit them, and i can't select the text itself to edit it. nothing's locked, i've ungrouped everything, i can see the specs for everything. yesterday i used save to web a couple of times. today i started recreating the logos and it happened again after i exported (not save to web) once or twice. and today i can select the paths, but they're no longer a single path but a tracing, as if it was bitmapped and then traced. but i haven't rasterized or traced. and the type is still unselectable and uneditable as type. it happened again after updating. i have since reinstalled and reupdated, but i still have to re-create all four logos - and it's possible it could happen again! as it is, one "unrasterized" version of the logos allows me to select the paths but doesn't show the anchor points - and still won't let me edit the text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an iMac with CS6. I have an external Maxtor 1TB drive that is 13 months old. when I attempted to access a PSD file from the drive and received an error message telling me that the document was not a valid photoshop file. I looked at the directory at this point and noticed that the preview icons for many of the photoshop and jpg files on the drive were disabled. In each of these cases, the files will not open.
I have:
1. Repaired permissions and volumes on the external drive.
2. Changed the file extension and attempted to open.
3. Opened the file in a hex editor and looked for extra lines of code, or text, or whatever.
4. Copied the file to a different drive.
5. Attempted to open in a different program (Preview, Illustrator)
In no cases will the files open, and I'm stumped. The drive itself seems to be working fine. Not every file is affected, and the files that are affected are both in a variety of locations on the drive and were created over a period of years.
I bought a macbook pro and the student suite about 3 months ago. They work fine together (better than the couple windows-adobe), but i've got a problem. Today colors of my macbook suddenly changes when i create a new web-profile file on Illustrator. I inspect my mac wtih the utility colorsync, and this was the result:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/RedBlueYelllow.icc
Etichetta 'pseq': Il profilo richiesto non è presente. Non può essere riparato.
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Smokey.icc

I'm working on a custom batch exporter, and at one point I need to set the crop box (inside an iteration of the current user-selection). Here's the relevant code:
var maxRect = getMaxRect ( objRef, overlappingItems );
alert ( maxRect.left.toString ( ) + " " + maxRect.top.toString ( ) + " " + maxRect.width.toString ( ) + " " + maxRect.height.toString ( ) );
doc.cropBox = [ maxRect.left, maxRect.top, maxRect.left + maxRect.width, maxRect.top + maxRect.height ];
alert ( "Crop box set" );
getMaxRect is a function that calculates the maximum bounding box between the current object ref and a group of overlapping items that I've already computed. The alert on the second line gives a nice set of numbers, so I'm fairly confident that the code thus far is ok. (In addition, I've inspected the crop marks subsequent to the execution of the above lines, and it looks all right.)
Here's the thing. Once doc.cropBox (doc being the active document) is set, it seems like the script execution simply halts. The crop box is actually set in the active document, but it seems to stop after setting this. I never see the second alert, and I don't see any error messages either.
I've relaunched and tried re-installing Illustrator CC twice and didn't solve this unexpected crash problem. It has never happened since I paid for this software months ago.
Illustrator won't crash when:
- using the keyboard arrows to manually move any path or drawn shapes/ objects
- using my wireless mouse to draw objects/ new paths from clipboards, colour boards etc.
Illustrator CRASHES when:
- using my wireless mouse and macbook's touchpad mouse to move any new or old drawn paths/ objects/ shapes/ lines etc.
In my Opinion - ROOT OF PROBLEM:
- Wirelss and macbook's touchpad mouse cursor causees it to hang then crash 1 minute later.
Why would my mouse cursor suddenly be the cause of this crash problem when it was working fine all along?
Below is the error message, I use this software to run my design business.

All of the sudden I can't create a customer profile when creating a new document. Earlier I selecting the print profile. I tried opening a new document and creating a custom profile but that option is grayed out.
I created custom brushes yesterday but they don't appear today. Is that because of the profile that the brushes were created with and without that profile I won't see the brushes?
Whenever he starts Photoshop up, all of his auto recovery files open. For example - when he goes to open a psd of a web design, he will get about 25 files opening with the title "JobName recovered".
I had a meander around the forums looking for possible fixes and information about the Auto Recovery feature, but so far have not been able to cure this ailment.
I have previously disabled the Auto Recovery feature as well as deleting the auto recovery files, yet this was only had a band-aid to amuptation effect. The auto recovery files have reappeared and are now opening again upon start up.
When NEF (raw files) in LR4 are edited, it generates two additional files: tiff and jpg (by "save as"). Later on, when I want to furhter edit those images, how do I start with? Obviously, I could re-edit from history panel of the orignal NEF file or tiff file using CS5. I wonder which approach is more efficient or convenient?

I have recently exchanged my HDD with a new SSD disc on a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. I have put an image of my original disc on the SSD and after installation everything runs fine as it should, except of Illustrator CS5, which doesn't even start up.I get the following error:
Adobe Illustrator cannot be opened because of a problem.Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Illustrator works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.
If I actually plug in my old HDD as USB disc and start CS5 there, it runs no problem. Hence it doesn't seem to be a problem of the OS (anyway, it worked fine before changing the discs).The detailed crash report follows:
