Yesterday Lightroom handled a bunch of files from these cameras and today it gives me a message "The following files were not imported because they could not be read." same answer for both ORF (Olympus raw) and jpeg's. The files will open in Elements. Reformattng cards both CF and SD) uninstalling LR and downloading a new install.

Nov 23, 2012I've been using Photoshop Elements 10 to edit raw .NEF files from my Nikon D3000 with no problems. Recently I purchased a Nikon D3200 and I shoot in raw .NEF files using that also but Photoshop Elements 10 will not recognize those .NEF files to edit. The error I'm getting is saying the file type is not correct.Â

Mar 7, 2014LR 5.3 suddenly has stopped showing changes and adjustments and so on in real time. In order to see a change, I have to click on a different thumbnail pic and view that, then back to the one I'm actually working on. I can't get anything done like this, and I can't figure out what I might have done to switch off a live real time view!!

Sep 16, 2012In a book I am working on, the zoom toggle suddenly stops working. It shows up, but moving the slider does not change the image size in the photo cell. I can still move the photo around in the cell, but cannot zoom in or out. I can right click to change to zoom to fill or zoom to fit, but cannot manually zoom in or out from that. Tried changing the default method to Z2Fit and Z2Fill, but neither mode solves the problem. I have been working on this book for a while, and the manual zoom has worked seamlessly up til now, and suddenly it doesn't work. I am hoping I accidentally hit a keyboard toggle to turn it off somehow, and just can't figure out how to get it back.

fwiw the problem cropped up as I started adding photos from another source, which were Nikon-based jpg files whereas all the rest previously added were either digitial scans (jpeg or tiff) or Pentax files (RAW & jpegs). I cannot imagine this has anything to do with the problem, but mentioning it just because its the only thing that was different when the problem cropped up.

Lightroom :: Edit Copy With Adjustment Suddenly Stopped Working
Feb 4, 2013I have been using lightroom 3.4 and photoshop CS6 for sometime. However suddenly I cant move images from lightroom to photoshop (Ctrl+E) with the "Edit a copy with lightroom adjustment".

When I click this option, it opens the Photoshop. But doesnt open the image. However the other two options "edit a copy" and "Edit original" works fine.

Also when i add photoshop again as another external editor, it works fine. But as you all are aware this create another copy of the image.

What I did I checked the applications path for photoshop and it was correct. I uninstalled lightroom and reinstalled.
Lightroom :: Suddenly Stopped Getting Dialog To Edit With LR Changes When Opening In Photoshop
Sep 27, 2012I have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?
Just tried to edit in Color Efex from Lightroom and got the dialogue. So...it's only happening with Photoshop. I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling with updated Camera Raw 6.7 plugin. No luck....
Lightroom :: V4 On Mac Stopped Importing From Memory Card
May 28, 2013My Lightroom 4 on a Mac has stopped importing from a memory card. It used to do so, but now it hangs up and never actually imports the photos. If I save the photos from the card to a folder on my desktop, it works just fine. I have tried several different memory cards at different speeds, sizes, fullness, and it doesn't seem to matter. What can I do to go back to importing directly from the memory card?

When Importing I would like to convert the raw images in slot 1 to the Adobe DNG format and to have the JPEG images simply imported as JPEGs. I cannot find the correct combinations of preferences/options to make this happen. What happens today is the both images import with the second labeled as a -2 copy of the first image.

Nov 17, 2012I have LR 4.2 installed. I just tried to import my 5D MK III images for the first time and is gave me a camera not recognized (409) error. From what I can see the 5 MK III was supposed to be supported from 4.1 on. Did the tether fix in 4.2 break the native image support? If not, have 4.2 installed that does recognize MK III files (within the past week)? I ran the update check and it reported that I had the latest version installed and no updates were available.

Mar 1, 2013I'm having strange things go on with Paint Shop Pro. One, it stopped automatically recognizing the camera when I plug it in to upload new photos. Now I have to tell it to open the camera, and, even if I have 100 old photos and 25 new ones, it uploads all of them again! Second, the file names have changed for the photos. They've always been the date "20132713_*.jpg". Now it opens them as "001.jpg, or 002.jpg, etc. How can I get it to go back to opening with the date as the file name.....and recognizing the camera and automatically open new photos in the camera?

Feb 5, 2013I have been copying my raw files to two different hard drives using DNG. I discovered last night that the backup file stays in the proprietary raw format. I have been operating under assumption that the backup would be in DNG format. I have been backing up my catalog onto the extra hard drive assuming if my primary drive failed, I would then have the back up hard drive with the backup catalog and things would be fine.

Is the only way to ensure my work is "safe" is to backup the primary hard drive onto a secondary hard drive?Can the dng files along with the catalog be backed up onto an online "cloud" type of service? Will the data be changed so I cannot recopy it and reuse it if my primary drive fails or my house burns down? Any recommendations for a cloud type of back-up service?Is there another methodology that should be employed to keep my photos and catalog data safe from a catastrophe?

There are no selected areas to be inside of or outside of. Every time I click, the history adds another line, but there isn't anything done.
This kind of thing drives me nuts. *If* there is a reason for invoking the brush and having it not work, there should be an error message like the one for trying to clone stamp without selecting a source.
Photoshop :: Text Pixel Smoothing Suddenly Stopped
Sep 4, 2013I Have used Photoshop forover five years, mainly for web graphics. I was changing a section of a current web site which contained text and needed redesigning. I noticed that the text on the replacement image was not smoothed as the original was despite using exactly the same font. The 'jaggies' were very pronounced. I have trawled the help pages and all the preferences available and can't find away to return the text to 'smoothed'.
