I just got my student/teacher copy of CC. In PS, under preferences for plugins, there is no option to allow me to direct to an alternate folder for plugins. Am I missing something? It says it's up to date, but no matter what I do I can not get any plugins to show. No matter what folder I put them in.
View 3 Repliesmakes upgrades/re-installations smoother and it is very simple to disable them for troubleshooting. If you disable the selection of the dedicated folder, you can compare performance. IF that solves your problem you can tilde them all out and re-enable them one by one to find the specific conflict.

However, the standard folder is embedded in the AppData folder in Windows. That folder resides on the system (C:) drive. I always install Plugs in a folder on a separate drive on my system (D:) so as to make it easy to manage and navigate.

Those I am missing are ones that I had in an external folder that you could set in preferences. The ability to set an Additional Plugin Folder is gone. Can I set an external plugin folder?
When I add an addtional plugin using preferences-plugins in CS6 the plugin shows up in cs6 but my active tools will pulsate or vibrate around when I try to use them. If I uncheck the preferences-plugins- additoonal plugins and reboot the pulsating of the tools ceases. Any way to stop the pulsating tools?

So what I need to do is to take the following
filename (1) from Folder (A)
filename (1) from Folder (B)
Open in Photoshop and run an applescript to combine the two images and save the result to a location.
Then
filename (2) from Folder (A)
filename (2) from Folder (B)
Run the batch again and again until all images in the sequence are processed in both folders.
Was looking into an Applescript that may do the job but can't seem to find anything. Happy to look at purchasing a solution if it is available.
In previous versions of Photoshop it was default behaviour to affect the shape in the currently selected layer when using the Direct Select tool. In Photoshop CC it's default behaviour to affect all shapes (in seperate layers) within the selected area. I often want to change some anchor points on a single rounded rectangle, for example, to make it fit perfectly.
Is there any way, without selecting "isolate layers", to restrict the selection to the currently selected shape layer?
Prior to Photoshop CS6, a curve on a path could be moved using the Direct Selection Tool without altering the path beyond the two enclosing points. If you manipulated the curve, only the inside handles of the two points (that create the curve) would change - and only in length - as shown below:
Unfortunately, in Photoshop CS6, if you manipulate the path curve with the Direct Selection Tool, the handles both sides of the points move freely - affecting the path beyond those points:
- is there a way to revert to the prior behaviour? The Photoshop CS6 behaviour may seem more intuitive (or something), but it's less precise and alter parts of the path that are fine already.
This error message appears when I have the Direct Selection tool selected, but have not selected an object. Every time I press Enter I get the alert: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." It doesn't matter what file I have open.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5, 2.2 GHz, 16 GB memory. This is just one of several weird bugs I've encountered in CC.
Since version CS it was very easy working with paths with the direct selection tool. I just upgraded to Photoshop CC, and noticed this annoying bug:
When I select and anchor point using the Direct Selection Tool, I can no longer de-select it clicking inside the shape. This is so frustrating when working with icons.
I used to grab the Path Selection Tool to select the entire vector shape, then I switched to the Direct Selection Tool if I wanted to modify a specific anchor point. All I needed to do was clicking inside the shape, then select the anchor point I wanted to work with. Now if I switch from the Path tool to the Direct Selection one, if I click inside the shape it doesn't deselect anything, if I click on an anchor point, it doesn't deselect the other anchor points. I figured out that if I click on the path of a different vector shape, then I can go back and select an anchor point on the vector shape I was working with, but it's too much work for de-selecting a point.Is it a bug or a new way Photoshop CC behaves?
I just installed PE12 on my IMac (OS 10.8.5) and can not access directly the Photomerge module from Lightroom 5.2: the corresponding menu lines are inactive (dark grey). On the other hand, I cant open the files in Elements from LR, and once there, the Photomerge module works properly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing this incredibly annoying behavior in PS over the past 10 days. Dragging with a selection tool (or shape tools) used apply a thin dotted outline only when the mouse was depressed—very useful for knowing what area would be selected. Now I don't see that outline until I release the mouse button (or stylus) at which point the outline persists (see attached screenshot). The behavior is sometimes corrected with a restart, other times not.
I'm on a macbook pro 2.4GHz with 16GB of RAM running 10.8.2 and CS6 13.1.2 x64 Extended.
Nothing is more tedious than not being able to use the direct selection tool to grab multiple points because there is another shape under it on a different layer. I'd think that locking those layers would prevent selection, but it does not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to select points in my vector shape (this one is selected), and I have other vector shape behind that one, I start dragging with Direct Selection Tool in order to select those two points, I got selected three points, two from first vector shape, and one more form shape that was behind and in the area where I was dragging selection. Also, now both vector shape become selected. Why is this happening if only one vector shape was selected?

We just got our updated release of AutoCAD 2012 and I noticed it now supports direct import of Pro-E models, which is what our engineering department uses for one reason or another...
I'm currently using 3DS Max 2011... If Max 2012 support direct import of Pro-E models like AutoCAD is now doing??? It would be REALLY handy! Currently they export a either an STL or OBJ to me that I then can import into Max... would be nice if I could just take their native file and run with it!

When I use XrefGraph xg = mainDb.GetHostDwgXrefGraph(true); in Code then I get all the Files as a node including MasterRoot (say count=6).
If I want to get Only direct Children (here, Root1 and Root2)(means count=2 only), then what i have to do?
Since i bought a new machine, i've been having issues with the trial of Max 2012.Drivers, DirectX, etc. is all fully updates to the latest version, and Max started having these issues after (i think) a win7 update (I've attached a pic).
I've tried changing the settings to Direct3D and OpenGL, but the last one, makes it so Max crashes when opening (forcing me to change manually the config back to Direct3D), Aero is disabled by default too.
When I first installed LR4, I used an external HD, which I called Photo Library, for all my images. I also had a second Ext. HD, which I called Photo Library Backup. Unfortunately, Photo Library crashed. I have now replaced it with another, which I now call New Photo Library. For many of my images in LR, when I access them, I get the message that they are either missing or offline.
My question: I now want LR to find ALL my images on New Photo Library. There are 4 folders which I recently downloaded, which are on New Photo Library, but most are not. Many are on Photo Library Backup, and those LR can find. But I'd still like them all to point to New Photo Library.
All the images that are in LR are now in the HD called New Photo Library.
There is a new command in Premiere Pro: direct link to speedgrade. What change is meant by the choice of new wording, from "send to" to "direct link"? Is there a dynamic link now between Premiere and Speedgrade? I haven't seen anything to that effect in "What's new."
