This error message appears when I have the Direct Selection tool selected, but have not selected an object. Every time I press Enter I get the alert: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." It doesn't matter what file I have open.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5, 2.2 GHz, 16 GB memory. This is just one of several weird bugs I've encountered in CC.
Just upgraded to PS CS6, and am having a problem manually entering a value for the magnification level in the status bar (same goes for Navigator panel).Is it supposed to automatically zoom to the amount entered without hitting enter/return? For example, if I want 25%, the box will read 2%5 and tells me my value is invalid by the time I hit return (the document will go to 2% automatically before I hit the 5). I can find nothing on this anywhere online, and the documentation mentions typing a number then having to press enter/return. Is this a feature? A glitch? Can it be disabled/fixed?
I am running a Mac and small Cintiq with an on-screen keyboard (so typing speed is slow and screen area at a premium), and the button on the pen (set to be an 'option' key) sticks on occasion.
I'm using an HP Envy x2, which is a tablet-laptop hybrid with an attachable keyboard, and I'm having an issue with Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.
When I attempt to start a new line of text in a text layer by pressing "Enter," it doesn't let me start a new line of text; instead, it stops editing the text layer altogether. I would like to be able to press "Enter" and have PSE11 start a new line of text in the text layer; I have been using Elements to create graphics since 2007 and have never encountered this problem.
I have already tried:
- Uninstalling and re-installing PSE11
- Ctrl + Enter, Shift + Enter, Fn + Enter
- Resetting the type tool
- Making sure the spacing is set to Auto
- Turning on and off the Num Lock key via on-screen keyboard
What's the setting to draw dimensions as objects? For some reason it's drawing them as seperate lines, text, etc. and they only show after hitting enter. I've had this problem in the past and i'm not sure what setting does this

This morning, my Selection Tool (the filled-in arrow) is acting like a Direct Selection Tool (the hollow arrow), but only when I click and drag on a group. It ends up select the anchors within the group rather than the whole group itself.
I've checked my preferences, quit and relaunched Illustrator a few times, and nothing seems to fix it. The problem briefly went away a few minutes ago, but came back when I quit and relaunched for good measure.
It's happening in Illustrator CS 5.1. I have CS6, and that version works fine, but I'm waiting on some plugins to be updated for it, so I'd like to use CS 5.1. I'm also running the latest Suitcase Fusion 4.
Prior to Photoshop CS6, a curve on a path could be moved using the Direct Selection Tool without altering the path beyond the two enclosing points. If you manipulated the curve, only the inside handles of the two points (that create the curve) would change - and only in length - as shown below:
Unfortunately, in Photoshop CS6, if you manipulate the path curve with the Direct Selection Tool, the handles both sides of the points move freely - affecting the path beyond those points:
- is there a way to revert to the prior behaviour? The Photoshop CS6 behaviour may seem more intuitive (or something), but it's less precise and alter parts of the path that are fine already.
Since version CS it was very easy working with paths with the direct selection tool. I just upgraded to Photoshop CC, and noticed this annoying bug:
When I select and anchor point using the Direct Selection Tool, I can no longer de-select it clicking inside the shape. This is so frustrating when working with icons.
I used to grab the Path Selection Tool to select the entire vector shape, then I switched to the Direct Selection Tool if I wanted to modify a specific anchor point. All I needed to do was clicking inside the shape, then select the anchor point I wanted to work with. Now if I switch from the Path tool to the Direct Selection one, if I click inside the shape it doesn't deselect anything, if I click on an anchor point, it doesn't deselect the other anchor points. I figured out that if I click on the path of a different vector shape, then I can go back and select an anchor point on the vector shape I was working with, but it's too much work for de-selecting a point.Is it a bug or a new way Photoshop CC behaves?
I'm experiencing this incredibly annoying behavior in PS over the past 10 days. Dragging with a selection tool (or shape tools) used apply a thin dotted outline only when the mouse was depressed—very useful for knowing what area would be selected. Now I don't see that outline until I release the mouse button (or stylus) at which point the outline persists (see attached screenshot). The behavior is sometimes corrected with a restart, other times not.
I'm on a macbook pro 2.4GHz with 16GB of RAM running 10.8.2 and CS6 13.1.2 x64 Extended.
Nothing is more tedious than not being able to use the direct selection tool to grab multiple points because there is another shape under it on a different layer. I'd think that locking those layers would prevent selection, but it does not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to select points in my vector shape (this one is selected), and I have other vector shape behind that one, I start dragging with Direct Selection Tool in order to select those two points, I got selected three points, two from first vector shape, and one more form shape that was behind and in the area where I was dragging selection. Also, now both vector shape become selected. Why is this happening if only one vector shape was selected?
I'm using Photoshop CC.
How do I fix the issue of the shutting down? I had been printing and then it wouldn't let me. i have updated everything and still won't work. I have windows 7 and lightroom 3.6.

Noramlly in CS5 and any other version of Photoshop or Illustrator that I know of, if you click a point in an object, it will show the handles for transforming the line. As I'm creating something today, it works for a while and then stops. Yesterday I had the same problem. I drew a few things and then suddenly, the Direct Select Tool is not showing any transform handles.
I can get them to show if I can click and drag a box over the point, but this is slow and doesn't work well for layered art. I already tried resetting my illustrator preferences.
Also, in CS5 there's a simple icon that you can click to convert the currently selected point from a curved point to an angled point. Is there not such a thing in CS2?
Using the selection tool i should be able tp reduce or shrink the size of the box or an image as a whole without changing the format. Iam not able to do that. I think i disabled something in my illustrator.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the direct selection tool to select multiple objects that also contain an image within a clipping set, occasionally the clipped image is included in the bounding box, even if it and its clipping mask are not selected. Selecting other objects includes them in the bounding box, but even after deselecting everything the bounding box around the image remains and the only way to remove it is to drag a handle (which resizes the image) and then undo the action. Obviously this is annoying and seriously interrupts workflow. I've had this issue ever since CS4.
View 10 Replies View RelatedUsing the Direct Selection Tool I will often click and drag over one corner or side of a shape to select those specific anchor points. This works perfectly on a shape. However, I've noticed this doesn't work on a text frame. Using the same technique on a text frame results in all anchor points being selected. The only way, to my knowledge, to select specific anchor points on a text frame is to actually click on the anchor points themselves. If my memory serves me correct (Though there's a good chance I'm imagining things.) in past versions of Illustrator the aforementioned technique would've worked. What gives, CS6?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an SSA model that has multiple on-grade inlets along a city street. Each on-grade inlet has a roadway/gutter bypass link defined (the link is defined as 'direct' in the conveyance link properties) and where applicable an upstream roadway link. Therefore most inlets have a direct link coming in and a direct link leaving to represent the gutter bypass flows. The model will successfully run under kinematic wave routing method. When changed to hydrodynamic, I get Error 134 stating:
ERROR 134 : Node CB-13 has more than one DIRECT outlet link or DESIGN pump.
I know that it is fairly self explanatory error except the error does not appear for every inlet that I have defined direct links for. Some inlets that have one incoming direct link and one outgoing direct link are not listed in the error listing, while some do. In review of the model, I do not appear to have multiple direct outlet links (I also don't recall drawing more than one per structure in my model). Based on my review of SSA documents, it seemed like modeling bypass flows using direct links as opposed to open channel flow was the most common practice. That said, if I change the outgoing direct link to open channel, that inlet is removed from the error list.

When pressing Enter/Return to commit a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input (and I'm not trying to change the feather values)!?
Pressing Enter/Return should commit the selection but it doesn't why? I have not changed any short-cut preferences in PS CS6.
When I use the Marquee or Lasso tool and make a selection and I'm happy with the selection, I press the Enter (PC)/Return(Mac) and the the "marching ants" should disappear..this has always worked until today? Now, when I press the Enter key, the Feather box (next to the Anti-alias) on the upper left corner goes from grey to white and wants me to change the value?
I use a lot of Group Layer Filters so I can turn things on/off quickly. My problem is I have been creating my Layer Filter Group by right clicking on the Layer Group Filter>going to Selection>then click Add> then go back to my drawing or Layout tab and select all of the layers I need then click enter. One day my AutoCad would not let me do that anymore, and even after I click on enter it gives me an error message saying the command is still active. Now from my Layer Properties Manager I can select any layer and drag/drop it into any filter and it works, but I really need to be able to select things within the model space or paper of each layout tabs.

Any way i do not understand with after using -convert point tool- the tool -Direction tool- (2) do not leave me to manage both the direction handles (3). I try to upload a screenshot:

When I use the quick selection tool (or when I use content-aware scaling) I get an error message saying "could not complete your request because of a program error." I am working with NEF files, 4 GB of RAM, fast machine with plenty of scratch space, Radeon X1950 crossfire graphics card. With small .jpg files, the problem doesn't occur.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use CS6, and today I followed a tutorial on how to make a robot on a picture and at first everything went ok but when I was almost done and tried to make a selection with the lasso tool I all of a sudden got an error message that says "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible." And when I press OK my selection is not there. I had no problem when I started the project but now it won't work.
And now I get this error messages every time I try to make a selection and it doesn't matter if I use the pen, marque or whatever.
We do draw a lot a we want to draw fast. And sometimes you hit the wall.But XDP9 has a flaw that I ddn't experienced before and that I'd like to check with users on this forum. But only those with a Pen like a Wacom or nTrig. So all users with a tablet with pressure sensitive setup are susceptible too.
Try to doodle a line with your pen by circling around fast and long. In my experience the lines go less smooth and eventually will evolve to straight lines (see attached screendump) Once you hit that level Xara tends to straighten every move you make with that pen.
I've hit this behaviour when I was doodling on a rather outclassed tablet with rather ancient hardware (a Portege m400 with only 2gb Ram and a Pentium T2600 (dual core). I can repeat this behaviour on a M700 with a core2duo and 4Gb albait it takes longer to hit the wall.
