Jan 15, 2009I have a requirement to take a relatively simple technical line drawing (think circuit diagrams etc) that have been hand drawn and then somehow convert them into a nice sharp and neat diagram that looks like it had been done in illustrator or Visio.
I know that image editing tools such as Illustrator allow you to "vectorize" a bitmap image but the thing I don't about is whether any of the applications can automatically straighten and correct lines and give me a "nicer" picture as a result?
Does anyone know if this sort of thing is even possible?

Aug 21, 2012In InDesign if i move my folder with images just by re-linking one image of the folder ALL will be linke at once by their names. In Illustrator i have to re-link manually one by one. Am i doing something wrong? Should i have some command selected? Can i do it through a plugin?

Programming an Action isn't an option as the Action recorder doesn't record which tracing preset is used for image tracing. I found I can use the pre-installed Image Tracing Script [URL] in which I only need to specify the correct number of the Image Tracing Preset. And that became a big problem.

May 18, 2012I have the new cs6 master collection and all programs work well and don't cause problems when I shut down my iMac except Photoshop. If I use photoshop, anytime I try to shut down my computer all I get is a spinning wheel and computer will never shut down. Here you go. If say I open a new project to any page size of my choice and import any image (any size) into the page. Is there a way I can automatically fit the page to the image size in either CorelDraw X5or PhotoPaint X3? That is, if my default page size is letter (8.5"x11") and I import an image that is 2.2"x5", can I automatically fit the default page to the fit the image at 2.2"x5"? Really very handy too. Can I also do the reverse image to paper size? If I can do either, where do I go?

Oct 17, 2008I have Photoshop CS (version 8.0) running on Windows XP Home (SP3). I searched the help files, FAQs, and the forums and didn't find anything related to this.
Today I opened a document I've been working on, created a new layer, picked a default 9 pixel hard round brush, and when I clicked on the canvas to paint I got "could not complete the task due to a program error" and right after this Photoshop shut down.
I ran my anti-virus, but the computer is clean. I then checked all the brushes in my Photoshop folder to see if there were any odd ones in there - there weren't. Then I closed PS and when I opened it again I held down Shift+Ctrl+Alt to reset the Prefs file. I created a new document and reset the brushes, then I tried once again to paint with a default brush. Again I received the same program error and PS shut down.
I uninstalled PS and reinstalled the program. I restarted my computer and opened PS and tried painting again - the same error, only this time PS didn't shut itself down.
I'm at a loss here. I know Photoshop can have some psychotic moments, but this is the first time I have encountered this weird behavior. If anyone can give me some suggestions on what might be happening and how to remedy it I would appreciate it.
Photoshop :: What's Causing CS6 To Shutdown Program And Computer
May 19, 2013CS6 not only shuts down itself, it shuts down my computer. I have a high-end graphics card (which I specifically got to run my photo-editing monitor), i7 processor, Win8, 64-bit, high resolution. It always happens, without fail, when I choose a large size brush or whatever tool in cloning, spot-healing, dodging, burning, etc). Otherwise, it runs fine. But if I choose a large brush, etc, it only shows me a half circle instead of the full circle, freezes PS, shuts down my computer, and then the computer re-starts.
I used this same PS program on my previous Win7 64-bit computer, which had far less capability, processor, graphics, and other credentials than this current one. It has nothing to do with having other apps running because it happens regardless. It has nothing to do with Bridge because I don't use Bridge. It happens every time as described above. When the computer boots itself back up, there's an option for me to send the notice of the error to Microsoft, which I've done about 50 times. Could it have something to do with Win8? Hope not, because I checked before I (regrettably) got a computer with Win8 to make sure Photoshop was compatible with Win8.

Jan 25, 2009I'm running photoshop on my Asus eee pc but I have it running on an Acer Aspire 5670 monitor (bigger screen makes it easier for my retouching work!) and whenever I shutdown photoshop my screen gets a little bit bluer.
I can fix it by doing a recalibration but it's still kinda annoying because I don't always remember to do it and I'm sure you can understand that trying to get skin tones right when your screen is blue can be an utter.

Apr 12, 2013I have successfully saved my file, shut down Photoshop without incident, and yet upon opening CS6 it starts opening the latest autorecovery file. I need to have autorecovery on for the work loss protection it provides, but it can get confusing to have an Autorecovery file open instead of the file I had meant to open. ( This is also happening on a colleague's computer.)

Photoshop :: Image Not Printing In CS5
Jun 19, 2012I have a strange issue with my Epson R3880 printer: when I make up a composite image in Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 by cutting and pasting from various other images (then flattening the layers), I cannot get it to print although the printer goes through the motions, but nothing appears on the paper; also the print head doesn't attempt to print over that part of the paper where the image should be appearing (I'm actually doing proofing).
I've reinstalled Photoshop and the latest printer drivers, and tried to print it in other applications (Photoshop Elements and Gimp). Any other images (ie non-cut and paste) print satisfactorily. I did speak to someone on the Epson help desk who told me he thought it was a Photoshop problem, but the fact that the image won't print in Gimp suggests this may not be the case. The only thing I can think is that something in CS5 which created the image causes an allergic reaction in the printer! I'm running Vista x64.

i want to print a/some wallpapers...they at max are 1600x1200pixels...i looked at some posters in my room and they are about ~100cm high, ~70cm width...
to have some kind of feeling of what could be the final result i opened photoshop and in IMAGE SIZE i saw that bellow in the form there is a thing called "IMAGEM SIZE" where it says that my 1600x1200 pixels image is 56,44x42,33 cm's...this means that if i printed the image just like it is it would have that size? or is it a something else thing?
