Is there a way to set the pdf path to match the drawing location so when a drawing?
and pdf is moved and they have the same path the pdf will be linked to the drawing?

Jul 3, 2012It seems to me at one time I was able to just click the check box "Enable Profile Corrections" and LR would automatically detect the lens I used and apply it. Now it wants me to scroll through the list to the bracnd name--then it applies it.

I think that these types of entities should not allow exploding.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Automatic Drawing Creation
Mar 13, 2013I've been making iLogic assemblies with hints of VB for about 6 months now. My Boss has asked me if I can write code that will effectively create drawings automatically.
What we would like to create is a rule, which when run, creates a new drawing file, places the active assembly in a base view, then place a Left, Right and Top view of the assembly and place a parts list in the top corner. Dimensions are not really important at the moment, as the sizes of the parts are in the description field and the drawings are used for assembling the product only.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Automatic Layer Creation
Jan 2, 2014I am trying to get civil 3D to automatically create layers similar to ones already created. For example-
Using Description keys I am inserting survey points which automatically create layers for each type of point. e.g. p_building. I would also like a second layer to be created called l_building (for building lines) when the p_building layer is created.
I realize I can create the layers and save as the drawing template but this is not a neat solution as you have to add every possible line layer (l_??) and then you will have a lot of empty layers as not all points are collected on each job.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Grading Automatic Surface Creation
Aug 7, 2013I attached 3 pictures describing my problem.
On the first one you can see the feature lines i'm about to grade. The closed line is a pond and the two lines on the right is a riverbed. The area between them is just land.
On the second picture you can see a part of the surface i need to get by grading. I need the pond, riverbed and land to be one surface.
On the third picture you can see what happens, when i try to grade the riverbed under the same grading group. The pond surface disappears while the grading stays.

May 23, 2013I'm currently working on a model and it annoys me a bit that whenever i create a new Sketch a Center Point is created automatically (okay thats quite useful for the first sketch) and when I create a sketch on a face of an extrusion, the shape of that face is automatically projected as lines in my new sketch.
Usually I don't need that "projection" - is there a way to disable this feature?
I'm using Inventor Professional 2014 Student edition.
PS: I just noticed that I can't snap to center and corner points after deleting the projected shape.

I had to change my paper size and now my drawing does not align with the page. The drawing is very complex and I would rather not have to move it. Any easy way to realign the page.

Jul 14, 2013I am having some trouble with a file in Illustrator CS6. Within a layer, when I add a fill to an object, the fill doesn't block out the object paths beneath. For instance, say I have a square object overlapping a circle object in Layer 1. The square object is above the circle in the layer. When I add a fill to the square, the circle stroke still shows through the square even though the overlapped part should be blocked out by the fill. The square is set to normal visibility, and I have made sure that there are no duplicate paths that would account for what I am seeing. (I.e., it's not a case where there's a second identical circle path that is on top of the square, so that it remains visible in spite of the fill.)
Other details:
- I'm mainly working with a white fill, but the problem is the same with fills of any color
- When there's a fill color in the circle path as well, the circle's fill color *is* blocked out—just not its stroke.
- I have restarted Illustrator and restarted my computer and these have not changed anything.
- There are other layers within the same document where the normal layering rules work.
- I tried copy/pasting some of the problem objects into a new document, and in the new document, the fill works properly.
- If I move the problem objects to another layer, then the fill works as it should. But as I'm dealing with a number of paths, it doesn't make sense to create a layer for each to solve the problem.
I can't tell if it's a matter of working in too large or complex a file.
GIMP :: Layer Boundaries Not Showing In Any Drawing
Mar 22, 2012I loaded up GIMP today to find that the yellow dashed layer boundaries aren't showing within any of my drawings. The 'Show Layer Boundary' option in the 'View' menu is selected - I have even tried un-selecting, and re-selecting it again, but still does not show.
I really don't want to reinstall GIMP because I will lose my custom window configurations.

Jun 9, 2011After installing SP2 for 3ds Max 2011 (Windows 7, 64-bit), whenever I create a new object, the colour swatch in the 'Name and Color' rollout is always white, however, the actual colour assigned to each newly created object is not white, but is the same for all objects created (seems to be a different choice of colour after each restart of Max). If I click the colour swatch, 'Assign Random Colors' is checked and I can manually assign a different colour to the object I've just created and the colour swatch is updated to reflect my choice. If I continue creating new objects, the same colour as initially applied is assigned and the colour swatch is again white. If I uncheck 'Assign Random Colors' and create new objects, the colour swatch is again white and the same colour as initially applied is used.

I have an image of a corner of a building with the wall on the left and right, and sky at the top of the image. I would like to extend one of the walls out to extend the width of the image and also replicate the sky.
The walls are on a slight angle so I can not simply do a retangle block and copy/paste, also when I do this on the sky, the gradients of the paste dont match up nicely.
