View 4 Repliesi am trying to use it to design button badges on my new laptop. I have photoshop on my old laptop and have lots of psd files that I have been trying to use with GIMP.
I am finding that GIMP is shrinking my images when I import them to different images and when I come to print them on A4 they are smaller than they should be, and so useless to me in making my badges...
Printing the original image from GIMP gives me it in it's intended size though. How can I stop this from happening?
It happend when I import into an A4 - as I need to fit approximately 40 badge images per sheet.
I tried searching for this "signature+frame+batch" but did not come up with anything. maybe i using the wrong 'words'
I want to create a frame on each of my pictures and then at the bottom right hand corner have my name.
I'm laying a picture out on a 11x17 template. How do you place a frame around it, and fill it with a pattern?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you add a "pattern" to a frame around a picture. The reason I ask, is when you go to make a frame around something, it asks you what "color" you desire. I don't want a "color", I want a "pattern" (the birch wood pattern).

I took a photo so you all can better see what i am trying to do in the photo you see a painting of the joker i wanna make that painting look like it was directly hand painted onto the white picture frame. How I can make this happen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Adobe Photoshop CS, and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having with resizing images.
I'm wanting to resize an image from 485x391 to 100x81, but when I try to do that, the image quality is completely degraded and it goes blurry where the finer details are.
I have an 8 X 11 image that needs to be shrunk down to about 1" X 1" (it's being put on a poker chip). It's obviously not working.
I know the lines have to be thicker and/or darker so when they're shrunk they don't disappear.
I don't really use graphic's programs, but I know basics. Here is a copy of the image so you know what I'm referring to:

I am having trouble shrinking this compass I made.
I have the box ticked in the preferences that says to scale strokes and effects.
I made the original image 420X420 the one below is 380X380
The second image is 190X190. As you can see the increments become pushed together. I actually want this image to look exactly like the first picture at an icon size of roughly 64X64.
Is there a way I can keep the look of this compass but make it icon size?
I am writing a code to select an object (crossing) and to stretch it a certain distance on the y axis. This is the code that I have to select the object, but I cannot find what to use to stretch it. I actually found something to scale it, but it is not what I need. With ThisDrawing.Utility
Dim SP1sel1(0 To 2) As Double
Dim SP1sel2(0 To 2) As Double
Dim objSS As AcadSelectionSe
Set objSS = ThisDrawing.SelectionSets.Add("zzadsaaafatt")
' Select the object

A book scan produced about 250 images (one per page) that have gray around the edges where the old paper was yellowed (almost brown). I want to write a batch program to place a white frame of a specified width around the perimeter of the images to eliminate this unwanted gray. How can I do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a complex object (a plot with a bunch of text labels, etc.), and I want to stretch it horizontally or vertically without distorting text. I have an option to scale or not to scale strokes,. However, whatever I select here, the text always ends up distorted.
Is there a way to stretch it so that the text retains it's original shape?
I have recently upgraded to 2013 from 2007 and I am having some weird trouble with the move command. I will try to explain.. I type the move command and then select a particular object I would like to move a little and it grabs some (not all) of other objects/lines near it and then stretches the lot in all directions! It actually doesn't allow me to move it at all without stretching/extending all these areas. I have tried everything I can think of and am not sure what I am missing. I thought it was somehow related to the polyline I was selecting, but it does it to single lines as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to combine a color photo frame with a black and white image, but every time I open the frame in "open as layers" the frame turns to black and white as well as the photo. I have no problem when using color photos. Is there a way that I can do this so that my photo frame remains it's original color with the black and white photo inside.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a box, and inside that box, there is another box. Connecting/joining both boxes are two lines on all four sides of both boxes. What I don't know is how to stretch the outer box (dynamically) from the top right corner, to any size i wish to drag it out to (keeping the inner box in the center at all times, and keeping the lines joining the boxes, connected to both boxes).
I can:
-Dynamically stretch the outer box from the top right corner, keeping the inner box in the center
I can't:
-Keep the lines joining the two boxes connected to the two boxes.
There is a picture attached that shows the box before it is stretched, and a picture of the end result that im looking for. I just need to know how to dynamically stretch the first image to generate the second image.
I'm trying to wrap an image around a curved object. This is a front elevation of a sign I am attempting to render and the sign wraps around a pole. What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an image of approx. 1000x1000px... I need to make the image 500x200. Everytime I try to resize the image it comes out looking "stretched". Is there any way of resizing or shrinking the image in photoshop without distorting the image?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy the image stretches when I'm trying to place it on a page of a 3D book I created in Illustrator? I do realize the geometric lines vary depending on the shape of the page I'm placing the image on, but how can I avoid the stretch? Is there a way to move the lines, or? I read somewhere that if you rasterize the image, it shouldn't stretch. However, it still does (or I just don't know how to rasterize properly)
Here's a link to the image: [URL] ... (everything stretched out weirdly in the middle)
If I want to cut out the background of an image and leave just the object how best can that be done?
I read in one of the threads to erase it out. Is there a better way?
i'm very new to gimp.
I have been using GIMp to do some basic things but have recent got a but stuck on how to best replicate part of a subject/object in an image. for example
I have an image of a corner of a building with the wall on the left and right, and sky at the top of the image. I would like to extend one of the walls out to extend the width of the image and also replicate the sky.
The walls are on a slight angle so I can not simply do a retangle block and copy/paste, also when I do this on the sky, the gradients of the paste dont match up nicely.
How do I edit sand and coarse textures, so well that even the experts can't find the edit?..
"Sand-brushes"..?
I am trying to accomplish something but i am not sure of the correct terms to use to describe it. I would like to "trim" or "cut" around an object in an image and have a "cloud" or "blur" around the edge. I have included a link below with an example of what i am trying to accomplish from an ebay listing. If this is possible with gimp, if not with what other program?

So for example if i cut out an object from one picture that has pretty warm lighting environment, and put it in a cold light background it will look pretty out of place obviously, and this is what I would like to resolve.
