Photoshop :: Screen Turns Bluish On Shutdown Asus Ee...
Jan 25, 2009
I'm running photoshop on my Asus eee pc but I have it running on an Acer Aspire 5670 monitor (bigger screen makes it easier for my retouching work!) and whenever I shutdown photoshop my screen gets a little bit bluer.
I can fix it by doing a recalibration but it's still kinda annoying because I don't always remember to do it and I'm sure you can understand that trying to get skin tones right when your screen is blue can be an utter.

I just bought a MacBook Pro three weeks ago. I'm running Mountain Lion. Also, I have my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Something very unusual is happening. I'm a Graphic Designer and currently doing an Interior Design major. I calibrated my monitor perfectly. But now, ever since I installed CS6, every time I open Photoshop, a bluish tint sets on the screen, affecting every program running (browsers, for example) and it's very annoying (not to mention it disrupts any color calibration I made to my monitor). The only solution to this problem is closing Photoshop (the problem persists even if I minimize Photoshop to use another program).
I tried opening Illustrator and it works fine. Only with Photoshop this is happening.
I searched on Apple discussion boards for similar cases and found nothing.
What's interesting, I took screenshots to send them to a friend and the screenshots don't seem to be affected by this phenomenon.

When I open PS my powerbook screen turns a a light blue like a photofilter had been applied to it. The second I shot down the app, my screen color returns to normal. This only happens with PS not LR, AI or any other app I have. Also it just started last night and is continuing to be troublesome today. Obviuose I cannot properly correct photos when everything has a blue tint to it.

buy an ASUS EeePC with Windows XP. E
As the EeePC does not come with a DVD drive and I won't be able to bring one with me on the trip, may I ask you how I can install my existing software (which is all on CDs, here in Australia) on the ASUS while I'm in the US.
when I installed my Photoshop 7.0 software (which is on a Photoshop upgrade disk) on my Dell desktop computer, during the installation process, the CD software asks me to load my Photoshop 6.0 disk to verify that I have the original full version of Photoshop 6.0 which is required to install the Photoshop 7.0 upgrade. This I did on the DELL and all went smoothly. Before I leave for the US, I'll uninstall Photoshop from my DELL desktop computer.
Would there be some way to copy the Photoshop 6.0 and 7.0 disks onto a USB flash memory drive so that they can be installed from that. But what would happen when the installation process asks for the Photoshop 6.0 disk to be installed? In other words how would I direct the installation process to the Photoshop 6.0 disk copy on the USB memory drive?

Okay getting completely irritated with these issues of overheating when I even just am rendering a video to get ready for export (and also on exporting)
I have tried setting power controls to the CPU to 80% but using SpeedFan I can see the CPU usage still spiking 90%-98% and heating just keeps rising and rising til shutdown.Idle CPU
-Rendering Usage in Balanced Power Settings
-Rendering Usage in High Power Settings
I really suck at understanding these things. But changing from Balanced to High Power didnt seem to affect the rendering times. But also the time was down at like 20-40 minutes before I started messing with the power controls now its at over 2 hours.
Finished a small render with success but it got pretty hot again and Norton pops up saying High CPU usage by PPro. 100% was hit quite a bit too

I built 3 profiles with ColorMunki for three different papers (I print with an Epson 3880). Using each of the profiles, a slight bluish tinge appears in what I'll call the "margin" of the prints. My tests were done on 4x6 paper, but the image was only about 5" wide--so there's a 1/2 inch "margin" between the edge of the image and the edge of the paper. The bluish tinge shows up here, but doesn't extend into the white border of the print. The weird part: the bluish tinge appears ONLY using the profiles. If I choose "Managed by Printer" everything is fine. No bluish tinge.
This could be related to LR 4.3, which I downloaded just before making and installing the profiles.

I have the new cs6 master collection and all programs work well and don't cause problems when I shut down my iMac except Photoshop. If I use photoshop, anytime I try to shut down my computer all I get is a spinning wheel and computer will never shut down. This happened on cs5 as well and thought newer version would fix problem but it has not.

my CS2 shuts down when I try to open a raw file and sometimes in the middle of editing an image without warning and without saving any changes. I purchased a new Dell computer hoping it would solve the problem but it didn't. It's still happening with this new $6000.00 computer running Windows XP Pro. Is this a known issue and would an upgrade to CS3 resolve this matter?

I have Photoshop CS (version 8.0) running on Windows XP Home (SP3). I searched the help files, FAQs, and the forums and didn't find anything related to this.
Today I opened a document I've been working on, created a new layer, picked a default 9 pixel hard round brush, and when I clicked on the canvas to paint I got "could not complete the task due to a program error" and right after this Photoshop shut down.
I ran my anti-virus, but the computer is clean. I then checked all the brushes in my Photoshop folder to see if there were any odd ones in there - there weren't. Then I closed PS and when I opened it again I held down Shift+Ctrl+Alt to reset the Prefs file. I created a new document and reset the brushes, then I tried once again to paint with a default brush. Again I received the same program error and PS shut down.
I uninstalled PS and reinstalled the program. I restarted my computer and opened PS and tried painting again - the same error, only this time PS didn't shut itself down.
I'm at a loss here. I know Photoshop can have some psychotic moments, but this is the first time I have encountered this weird behavior. If anyone can give me some suggestions on what might be happening and how to remedy it I would appreciate it.

CS6 not only shuts down itself, it shuts down my computer. I have a high-end graphics card (which I specifically got to run my photo-editing monitor), i7 processor, Win8, 64-bit, high resolution. It always happens, without fail, when I choose a large size brush or whatever tool in cloning, spot-healing, dodging, burning, etc). Otherwise, it runs fine. But if I choose a large brush, etc, it only shows me a half circle instead of the full circle, freezes PS, shuts down my computer, and then the computer re-starts.
I used this same PS program on my previous Win7 64-bit computer, which had far less capability, processor, graphics, and other credentials than this current one. It has nothing to do with having other apps running because it happens regardless. It has nothing to do with Bridge because I don't use Bridge. It happens every time as described above. When the computer boots itself back up, there's an option for me to send the notice of the error to Microsoft, which I've done about 50 times. Could it have something to do with Win8? Hope not, because I checked before I (regrettably) got a computer with Win8 to make sure Photoshop was compatible with Win8.

I have successfully saved my file, shut down Photoshop without incident, and yet upon opening CS6 it starts opening the latest autorecovery file. I need to have autorecovery on for the work loss protection it provides, but it can get confusing to have an Autorecovery file open instead of the file I had meant to open. ( This is also happening on a colleague's computer.)
I'm running Mac OS X version 10.8.3
2x2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
CS6 Version 13.0.4
It's happened several times with a variety of files. They are all Grayscale layered PSB's, in the 1.5 - 3 GB range.
