I am trying to create a circle where I can align a stroke to the outside of a path - however I need to be able to break the circle up into sections - once I do that - I cant align to outside anymore.
Aside from breaking the green section apart and aligning it manually by eye, is there no other way to do this? Perhaps by aligning all segments of the circle to another circle (one that hasnt been broken apart?)
I have no problem getting my text along a path but I am having trouble getting the text and the path to align so that the center of the text element is centered on the path.
Is this possible or do I have to figure out someway to make my path of a certain length so it ends up that the text fits to it perfectly??
Here is a screenshot of my current problem. You can see that the text and the image below it are centered. I then placed some guide lines to make sure my path was also centered. When I placed that text along the path though, it left justified the text when I want it to be centered instead..
is there a way of aligning an object along a path? For example an elipse or an arc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a variable number of text lines I would like to arrange along the path of half a circle. I would like the text to look like each text-string is radiating from the circle (the path I have as half a circle).
I would like to do this in adobe illustrator
I would like the text to be evenly spaced along the path dependent on how many lines of text I have.
I have seen other discussions suggesting either the blend-tool or the brush-tool. But no luck. The blend-tool would make distorted shapes in between, and would twist and distort the text. The brush tool would make each text a little bit 'cone-shaped', and I would prefer having the text without such a 'cone-shape'.
I am attaching a picture that halfway shows my intentions. In this diagram I have started rotating the first 4-5 text-lines. I have more text-strings (just above the half-circle) that I also would like to include along the path the half-circle is indicating.
The final goal is to get each of these locality-names raditing from the tips in the little red tree.
Is it possible in illustrator to align the text along a path like this? It is almost similar to the normal align objects and distribute objects.
I am working on a Mac OSX 10.5 Adobe Illustrator CS3.
I am having trouble aligning two layers that have layer masks on them. At the moment, the Align Left Edge tool is aligning the layers based off the entire contents of the layer, and not the mask, resulting in the layers not appearing aligned at all. Is there something I can do to tell the Align tool to take the masks into account?
I am using CS6.
When creating a work path on a new layer, the path is a grayish black color is there a way to create that path to be a different color, yellow for instance? Using CS6, I don't see it in preferences anywhere

2. I would like to Repeat / Duplicate that Black Color on Outer Path of Oval Shape. (Like shown in the Yellow versus Black. The Yellow is a Circle and the Black is from Star Tool)
3. I think the Best Bet would be to Link the Rays to the Outer Path of Oval Shape.
4. I need the Rays and Oval as 2 Different Objects so that I could Change the Color Scheme.

So, I have a layer which I made a rounded rectangle and then used ctrl + alt + t to transform and set it to 30 degrees and used alt + drag on the transformation pivot point
then I used ctrl + alt + shift + t to duplicate the rounded rectangle around that point and then ... I relocated this layer above an other layer w/a circle on it and used ctrl + alt + g to create a clipping mask
Now ... is where I am stuck ...
I'm suppose to "split each path into a separate layer" .... um. what?
Okay, I realize that each of the rounded rectangles has its own path ... but how to go about putting each one on a separate layer and I cannot find it in the manual
I have traced below image (bike). Using PEN tool stroke path.Path is around 100 layers or +.So, how to combine this all Stroke paths to one layer Path

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would really like to know if there is any way I can manage to to transform both a layer object and a path at the same time....or if there is any workaround to achieve this.
In a nutshell, say for example I spend a VERY long time creating an intricate path around a very detailed object, and then at the very end notice just how crooked and out of perspective it is, and would like to straighten it.
Of course I could transform and correct the object, and then carefully transform the path - but it just won't be exact, and I will have to spend a long time adjusting the path and making SURE it is perfect.
Isn't there any way I could get to transform them together?
Usually of course I do all the correction to straighten and correct perspective beforehand, but in some instances after I am done creating the path I then notice that the image could have used further adjustments.

I have recently had to begin using Clipping Paths for knockouts and silo's. I am having trouble though with moving the layer that has been knocked out and the clipping path that 'corresponds' to that layer.
What I want to know is if I can move them and size them together and still retain a clipping path? Every time I transform the layer and have the clipping path selected it only affects the clipping path. If I deselect the clipping path and transform it only affects the layer. The clipping path just stays where it is and I would have to move it independently of the layer to realign it.
Sometimes I want to re-orient the layer from vertical to diagonal on the white background but that will unalign it from the clipping path.
The Pen Tool is my favorite / go to selection tool. But can it do the following...I've made a path and converted it to a selection, then filled the area with a color or texture (on it's own layer).
Now I find that I need to adjust (fine tune) the shape I've created / filled with color or texture to better fit how / where it's being used. Is is possible to invoke the path handles and get it to adjust the filled area as you move / adjust the path. (This is not a shape, not using the shape tool.)
I can select the filled path / layer and free transform but that does not give me a fine enough adjustment.Puppet Warp doesn't really fit the bill eitherA good example of what I want to achieve is similar to when you put type on a path. When you adjust the path the type moves to conform to the changes in the path. I want to do the same thing with the area I filled using the path.
How can I control the stack order of a shape layer with the path arrangement option on the shape tool options menu? It seems to me that this control does not do anything with shape layers ... does not control anything. How can I use this option?

there's nothing in that dropdown menu for you to select your source image/layer in the Move Path plugin.I am using an XCF (Gimp) file, with many layers. I selected a particular layer, then I opened the Move Path plugin.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just found out about layer masks wow they are powerful before this I was cutting people from one picture and pasting them into another
What I am trying to do is have me in the same picture twice as 2 different people I know you do this using a layer mask and then using the brushes as I said above
But when I open both images and drag one onto the other how do I line them up exactly the same so when I do use the brush tool and brush away both images match up exactly the same underneath
I am locking the camera down with a tripod and its kept in the same position for both shots but what i have noticed is if you do not line both images up exactly the same you have like a ghost effect if you know what i mean
I was wondering when I align a layer to another layer, if there was a way to do it so that only one layer moves. I.e. in visio when you select your first object, that becomes the Master, and all other objects you click after this will all sync to the master, rather than what seems to happen to me in PS, i.e. both layers are moved a little. I'd like to be able to allow the first layer i click on to be static, and any other layres align to it only. can this be done?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere is a checkbox called "Attempt to Automatically Align Source Images" in File/Automate/Merge to HDR Pro..It seems to me that it does nothing. Even when I shoot with tripod and the unaligment of source images is very small, the end result is also off.
When and how should this automatic aligment work? I have Photoshop CS5.
I been given a project to align and merge three photo's to make one panorama. And there will be about 300 panorama's. So thats 3000 photos i have to align and merge. The problems I'm having it that the photographer is using an analogue camera outdoors. And i have been manually scanning them
I have tried automated merge and they don't merge. The 3 photos that make the panorama are all different angles. This isn't because of the scanning. Its the photo's i been given.
So i went with a different way of doing it. That is the first photo to make up the panorama, I tried to align all the first photo's in one go with Photomerge and save them as sperate layers. And they won't align because each photo has a different angle.
What I'm asking is a few hints. Is there addon's or something i can use to help me merge them. Or i can align every single first photo and link them, align every single second photo and link them, and align every single third photo and link them. Then all i have to do when I have done that is only use the first layer of each group to make the merge and every other photo will do the same.
