Jan 31, 2013CS6 Windows. I am unable to select the layer to transform it when I have a path created. The only way I can select the layer is to delete the path.

GIMP :: Unable To Edit Or Select The Lines Of A Path
Jun 14, 2011Okay, I've got a weird problem involving paths. Sometimes, I'll be unable to edit or select the lines of a path. I can work with the nodes and handles just fine, but it's like the lines don't even exist. This usually seems to happen when I save a file, close it out, and then open it again, or when I use the clipboard to copy and paste a path.

Jul 8, 2013I am working on a .dwg file in AutoCAD 2013 , and on one specific layer (defpoints), I am not able to select any of the objects. Initially, I thought that the layer may have been locked or frozen, but it is not. Additionally, I went ahead and locked then unlocked the layer as well as froze then thawed the layer, still not able to select any objects on the layer.
My next attempt to fix the problem was to run the command "AUDIT", and instructed to "Yes" fix any errors detected. The command seemed to execute correctly, however, it did not do anything. The objects on the layer still cannot be selected.

I am using maya 2012 on a MacBook pro , for instance if I create a cylinder ,when it's created I bring up the Chanel box , I have : pCylinder1 then the boxes for adjusting the xyz axis etc , then shapes / pCylinderShape1 , and that's it ! I have no inputs tab to adjust sub-divisions etc ?? Have I not got something selected

Feb 19, 2008I have an image with 8 layers and i want to draw lines. So I make a new layer. While this layer is selected, i select the line tool and draw a line. Then, as I want to move this line, I select the move tool and try to move it. But instead of moving the line I just drew, photoshop automatically switches to my background layer (although i'm not sure it's defined as "background layer") and moves the entire content of the layer.
To see what actually happened, i hid each layer in the layer palette... And still... here was my line. (with all layers hidden, is it POSSIBLE to have anything?)
I tried to select my line and then, using the move tool, move it, but the message "could not move the selection because the selected area is empty"...

Sep 2, 2012Today i opened a psd file which 200 layers. Paint.net is very slow then (as all layers are flatten, pdn is missing hierarchical layers), but that is another problem.
I wanted to hide some background layers and "copy merged" a selection.
It took me 10mn to find all the backgrounds layers without this tool.
In photoshop the tool exist as a property of the "move selection" tool. Ie: you must first select the move selection tool, then select "layer" in the properties toolbar.
Any way to get that for v4 ? Will v4 be on github so we can clone and make patches ?

May 29, 2012I do not understand why whenever I go to select the rectangle/polygon(or other similar tools) sometimes-in the options bar-the path functions(subtract from area, add to shape area etc) are NOT available.
The one who is always available is the "create new shape layer".

Dec 20, 2011A simple curve anchored at two ends.
Sometimes I can click on one end of the anchor and have it select ONLY that end, then I can move that anchor.
However, more and more often, it will only let me move BOTH anchors simultaneously and I have not been able to figure out how to make it stop doing that. Sometimes it will start working again as mysteriously and apparently randomly as it quit working, but more and more I'm just giving up in frustration and not getting any work done!
According to this tutorial, Gimp should exhibit that behavior only when you do an ALT mouse click. Keyboard is nowhere near me! I'm not pressing the ALT key! I can't stop this and it's driving me batty!

Oct 19, 2012I purchased the Adobe creative suite (CS5). However, upon attempting to install it, I discovered I was unable to install it in the desired folder as no options are given to change the default location that is given.

Clicking on the bar yielded no selection window, and attempting to type the folder name did not change the default location. I am bewildered as I was able to change the folder during an earlier install (half an hour ago). Checking and unchecking the photoshop, flash and other component ticks make no difference as I am not able to select the desired folder regardless.
I have also attempted exiting and re-booting install. It does not make a difference.

Feb 22, 2012Got a bit of a puzzle here, trying to animate a cylinder deforming along a path. Fairly standard stuff. Got the path deform fine, but now I need any of the vertices that enter this one area to be deleted. Volume select with a mesh object doesn't seem to work, as it will only select the vertices where the cylinder is before the path deform object. Is there any sort of work around/way to collapse the animation of the path deform? I know I could do snapshot if I only wanted one frame of it, but the cylinder moves along the path over 1500 frames.
