View 6 RepliesI want to do anime/manga style drawings on the computer to make the colors smoother so i downloaded paint.net because its free and photoshop was too hard and not free. I only accomplished an anime eye. Are there any tutorials or people out there who do anime/ manga on paint. net?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change a template from black, to a shade of blue. Rather than just filling everything in and having it look choppy, I'm selecting each pixel with the global Magic Wand and matching the exact transparency. Is there a more efficient way to do this? A plugin, maybe?

I develop simplistic UIs using Paint.NET and I have a small overlay that is useful drawing them. I put the overlay as my second layer, but when saving it always prompts me whether I want to combine the layers or not. Is there a way to make the overlay a static non-layer grid image?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm often creating pixelart pics with transparent background using Pencil.. if as a secondary color would be an eraser (left click = drawing, right click = erasing). Is there such thing possible?
I can set some color and using Magic Wand (0 % tolerance) remove it or switching between pencil and eraser by keyboard, but - you know :) it's not so fast 'n' convenient. I tried to search for it here, but I guess I don't have correct keywords..
How do I switch off the latest tool after using it? I used the pencil then can't cancel the thing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedExactly what the title says, how do I change the Pencil tool to a desired pixel size? I've been using Paint.net for a while and I haven't noticed that the Pencil tool is fixed at 1 pixel.
Also, is there a way to dock the floating panel (Colors, Tools), maybe put them below the Menu bar and accessible via dropdown button?
how to create a shadow effect like the one they use on this site, especially to create unique horizontal rules to separate sections. Only when I tried to do this using gradients, it looked nowhere near as good.
way to create that effect with the white horizontal rule in the middle of the soft grey gradient?
I switched from MSPaint over to Paint.NET at the behest of members of my main forum, alternatehistory.com, as they find it much easier to use when editing maps.
One feature that MSPaint has that Paint.NET doesn't that would make it extremely convenient is the ability to use the pencil tool to draw short straight lines in any of the 8 main directions by holding SHIFT when drawing. While it is fairly easy to assign hotkeys on MSPaint and while Paint.NET already has them for pencil/line tools, it is often more convenient to be able to do seamlessly, especially when I'm editing many lines at once (like coasts and whanot).
I checked through the first 20 pages or so in this board and didn't find anything similar.
How to choose the thickness change line drawn?

I'm a Model Railroader, as the screen name implies. "RRArtist" RailRoad Artist. Anyway, I have a MoPar garage, planned, I have this 3D model, built, I'm merely working on a sign, that is based off I think the 1950's.....This sign, will depict my interests in MoPar, a "Hemi", and the classy girls used back in the day, as part of the sign, AND will be lighted......SO, in 1/87th to the foot scale (Pretty small) its nearly impossible to get a "Hemi" motor, and be able to see that it is a Hemi! SO, my plan, is to take a 1:25th scale Hemi motor, and mount it to a sign pole, that's a pipe, to carry wires for lighting. Then UNDER this sign, will be a girl, that looks as tho, she is holding up a sign that says "Hemi" in the old "MoPar" signage.....UNDER her will be this Hemi Motor.....BUT the lighting is the fun part as the "lamp shades. will be CHROMED Hemi Valve Covers.....With the motor itself, painted orange, with black valve covers.....
Now this girl on the sign, is the issue.............. The girl is actually a blonde.....(don't ask LOL) I need to change her hair color... to red! Problem is? The clothing shes wearing, a short skirt, or short shorts, that are also...........RED.... so, it leaves way to much "red" for the sign......Looks good as is, don't get me wrong, BUT, if I can replace her blonde hair with red hair, to match the "looks" of the image, to be "believable" is GREAT, BUT I want to remove the red from her clothing, and make it Hemi Orange.......... trimmed in black with the silverish looks it already has, blended into the red as you will see...
This whole project is going on a display I'm adding to my layout for looks for when I run trains and to show my other interest.......... old MoPar muscle cars that were Hemi with a garage to repair them, from back in the day......Trying to make all the colors fall into place is my issue!
In any case, I have a drawing I did with a pencil, and then I scanned it. Now, I want to scan it, and then paint over it. I have figured out how to paint over the scan, but I am not producing the result I want.
I have attached my scanned image, and the painting. My issue is, I want to have a digital feel to my painting; that is, I want to get rid of the penciling. I am wondering how to accomplish this. I am hoping that I won't have to manually ink the picture.
Here is the "feel" I am going for [URL] ....
I would like to globally edit blocks that we have in a drawing that was created in Microstation. All the blocks seem to have a '*A' in the name. It is preventing me from editing or manipulating the blocks.
I need to be able to globally manipulate the different kinds of sprinklers in the drawing as I need to bring this into another program (Autosprink)
I came I have attached a file with part of the drawing..DS Block Prob 1.dwg
We have Autocad 2010 and 2013 in house - though usually use Autosprink for our design.
Okay I'm making an image and I want to create a black border around a freely drawn selection but then feather it in so the opacity of the black border starts at 0 and ends at 100. How would I do this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes it exist? If not, why not? I discovered it in SAI and it's amazing how easily one could draw smooth curves with the brush/pencil without a need to mess with vectors but SAI is seriously lacking in many basic things that Paint.net has (i couldn't even change the size of a cut/pasted object). It would be perfect if Paint.net had it.

I was curious if I should create my characters in Xara and export them as AI files... if transparency fills translate well, or should I just do concepts in Xara and vector them out in ASP7pro?
you can see what i mean in the following picture examples.

Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
