AutoCad :: How To Dim Or Change Opacity Of Drawn Line
Oct 13, 2010I was wondering is there an option where you can dim or change the opacity of a drawn line? Similar to when you can change the linetype and linewieght, is there a precentage that allows to dim lines? Like when you insert .pdf plans as underlay, and you can actualy reduce the opacity. So that when you plot the plan drawing, some lines look solid black, but some are almost impossible to see? Or should I just change the colour of the line to light gray?

I tried changing the layer thickness and making sure the settings were such that the leader line thickness would be determined by the layer. Feb 9, 2014I am making a conatct sheet of photos. I wanted to define the outside edge of the photos, so I used the Rectangular Marquee to draw an outline around the perimeter, and then I went to Edit>Stroke (Outline) Selection. I chose the weight of the line (I made it 3 pix) and successfully had the outline. I then saved the file.
But now I want to change the weight of the line (down to 1 pix). But I can't figure out how to delete the 3 pix line.

Nov 1, 2006How I would change both the model and paper space thickness of a line in AutoCAD 2004? I've tried changing "line thickness" and "line weight" in the properties dialog box but it doesn't seem to matter whether it's 0 or 9,999,999 or any number, it just looks the same, in both the model space and paper space views.
I have a drawing someone else did that uses polylines of different thickness so I have tried to figure out how they did it. Again, looking at the properties dialog box it seems to make no difference what I set the "line thickness" or "line weight" properties to...the line just stays the same size regardless.
I want to change line thicknesses because I'm designing a surface water pipe layout...I want the pipes to be a lot thicker than the lines that represent the actual building so that they will stand out when I plot the drawing.

Jan 13, 2013I am using illustrator for doing some calligraphy and I am not really experienced with this program. I am using a mouse pen with pressure to draw/write calligraphies. My question is, can I change the pressure amount after I drew lines using brush tool. Let’s say I drew a line, it is good but still not satisfactory. I just want to do a little change in pressure amount in some segments –not all the line- on line. Does illustrator give me this option?

Nov 20, 2013I'm a Model Railroader, as the screen name implies. "RRArtist" RailRoad Artist. Anyway, I have a MoPar garage, planned, I have this 3D model, built, I'm merely working on a sign, that is based off I think the 1950's.....This sign, will depict my interests in MoPar, a "Hemi", and the classy girls used back in the day, as part of the sign, AND will be lighted......SO, in 1/87th to the foot scale (Pretty small) its nearly impossible to get a "Hemi" motor, and be able to see that it is a Hemi! SO, my plan, is to take a 1:25th scale Hemi motor, and mount it to a sign pole, that's a pipe, to carry wires for lighting. Then UNDER this sign, will be a girl, that looks as tho, she is holding up a sign that says "Hemi" in the old "MoPar" signage.....UNDER her will be this Hemi Motor.....BUT the lighting is the fun part as the "lamp shades. will be CHROMED Hemi Valve Covers.....With the motor itself, painted orange, with black valve covers.....
Now this girl on the sign, is the issue.............. The girl is actually a blonde.....(don't ask LOL) I need to change her hair color... to red! Problem is? The clothing shes wearing, a short skirt, or short shorts, that are also...........RED.... so, it leaves way to much "red" for the sign......Looks good as is, don't get me wrong, BUT, if I can replace her blonde hair with red hair, to match the "looks" of the image, to be "believable" is GREAT, BUT I want to remove the red from her clothing, and make it Hemi Orange.......... trimmed in black with the silverish looks it already has, blended into the red as you will see...
This whole project is going on a display I'm adding to my layout for looks for when I run trains and to show my other interest.......... old MoPar muscle cars that were Hemi with a garage to repair them, from back in the day......Trying to make all the colors fall into place is my issue!

I import my AutoCAD 2011 drawings into a CNC however the software isn't happy if a line is drawn on top of another line. If this happens it is not obvious simply by looking at the drawing and I have to go through the drawing checking each and every line which can be quite time consuming.

Sep 3, 2013I recently got a new drawing tablet (Monoprice Graphics Tablet) and i set up everything perfectly fine. However, i opened photoshop cs6 and when i draw, there would be an extra line. when i draw a semi circle, it automatically completes the gap with a straight line when i lift the pen up or stop drawing and it's really bothering me.

Sep 15, 2012I have an artist who draws for me and he sent a profile sheet of some different heads to use on the body's already created.
PROBLEM:
When I import to Toonboom animation the image files Are in large scale and when shrunk down the match the body the heads lines are thinner than the body's line thickness.
Question:
Is there a way to import the image or scale it down prior to importing so as to keep the same line thickness?
Photoshop :: Vary Line Thickness
Jul 10, 2004I want to know if there is a way I can vary the thickness of a paintbrush line in Photoshop without having a tablet. I've done it before in Freehand by toggling the number keys, and I'm hoping that there is a similar way to do it in Adobe programs.
Anybody have any clue or should I just go ahead and invest in a tablet? I've got a lot of control with a mouse so accuracy isn't too much of an issue.

I was messing with the dynamics as much as possible, but I encountered an issue: it only adjusts opacity with pressure, not line thickness
I used Photoshop before and it allowed me to keep the opacity at 100% and change the thickness of the line with pressure (the way I prefer it)

Sep 12, 2011I have existing drawings that I copy and manipulate into new ones. I have a drawing of a conveyor line that has some segments "highlighted" with a yellow hatch that appears to follow a single line. The conveyor layout has been changed. So I need to update the drawing for the new layout. I'm wondering how this was drawn. I cannot explode the hatch to copy parts of it. I'm thinking there was probably a simple way to get the hatch to follow the drawn line. Putting boundaries around the drawn line to hatch in would be rather time consuming. Is there a simple function I don't know about?

AutoCAD LT :: Unselectable Lines Appearing At The End Of Each Drawn Line
Aug 26, 2013Any one deal with lines that appear to the right of each line that is drawn? For example if I draw a vertical line I get a line at the start point and the end point that display off to the right 2 cm or so. Zoomed in or out, always about 2 cm. After about 15 minutes, every line does this. Pretty bothersome. I thought it was a graphics card but the blocks in my drawings go off to the right in which they were created. So if the block is rotated, these little 'tails' rotate with it.
I tried some troubleshooting - Reinstalling/updating graphics card driver, switching monitors, but no luck.
I have 8gb of ram on a windows 7 Bit system, and have an Autodesk/AutoCAD certified graphics card - an AMD FirePro 3900 (ATI FireGL). You'd think that this 'certification' would prevent problems like this. What do I know.
On a side note, Draw Order > send to back/send to front does not appear to work either on my display.

GIMP :: Filling Line-drawn Shape With A Color
May 10, 2011I have a cartoon line drawing. The black outlines are anti aliased so the edges of the lines have different grades of gray pixels on them. When I use the fill tool, and adjust the fill with the opacity and tolerance sliders, (I think that's what they're called in GIMP), I still can't get what I want. Only some of the gray pixels are colored in. Others are canceled out. Completely covered by the color, erasing some of the line.
Or some pixels remain uncolored. Just gray instead of a combination of the gray AND the fill color. What I'm looking for is an effect that looks like I placed a colored gel shaped like the cartoon character over the drawing. All the different shades of gray pixels should still be seen. Even the ones that are lighter than the fill color. With a gel, those pixels would appear darker, even though they were lighter than the fill color without the gel over them. The darkness of the color PLUS the added darkness of even the lightest gray pixels should make all the pixels appear darker. And the line would appear complete. Not partially erased.
Is it at all possible to get this effect?
