Is there a way to make it appear glossy?
Is there a plugin that will achieve that effect?
I want to copy a black and white photo which was printed (old original 'wet' method) on matte paper. When I scan it the scanned image has thin white vertical stripes through all the dark areas of the photo. I have located a method of removing them using Photoshop (using layers etc) but cannot duplicate those 'instructions' using PSP X2.
how I can remove these thin stripes (they make the photo look like everyone one is wearing pin striped clothing).
I had a chance to use the old StormNet software extensively in my previous company. This is my first time that I'm using it under AutoDesk. It appears to work similarly. So now I'm trying to model a small but a bit of a complex system.
I have a modeling scenario where I have a storage tank with two orifices. The first orifice outlets to a 10 inch diameter pipe which eventually outfalls into a stormwater treatment area. This area will allow ponding. Due to site topography a portion of this pipe run will be pressurized with the outlet set just low enough below the 1st orifice elevation at the tank. The second orifice outlets to a 12 inch diameter pipe which connects to the underground storm drain system via gravity. This second pipe run will only take on water that exceeds the capacity of the first. With this scenario I have a few questions:
1. In trying to model the bolted rims to make the portion of the system to work as a pressurized system, my understanding is that I have to set the surcharge elevation (at the junction) high enough above the max rim elevation. I have set up the surcharge elevation high enough, trying different elevations and the max water elevation in all cases is exceeding the max rim elevation.
2. My storage tank is a close tank. Is there a way to ensure that is modeled as such or does the program assume is a storage node such as a detention pond?
Why does a block appear at 0, 0, 0 in map 3d specifically? I need the technical reasons behind this, this is entirely for educational purposes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFrom a cut-out image on a transparent background, I use Save for web specifying a black matte to create a JPEG. The resulting image has compression artefacts within the black matte around the image just the same as if the original image had a black background. I can then apply a mask channel copied from the orignal file to the JPEG and fill the matte with black. Delete the mask and Save and I have a JPEG with a matte free of artefacts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the 3D render engine vray, using its multimatte render element which assigns mattes of certain materials (or objects) in the scene to a channel: R, G, or B.
I'm curious about the best way to composite once I have this file rendered out. The simplest way I can think of is doing a color range selection on the matte channel's solid color, then using that selection to modify my image as necessary. But I have used After Effects to do this also, and there is a "channel select" effect that extracts the channel and converts it to an alpha mask in one step... makes me think there's a more elegant way in Photoshop as well.
How can i make transparent gif image without Use MATTE

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Elements 6.0, and everything worked fine until I loaded some new brushes. Ever since I loaded those brushes, the only color ANY brush will paint in is white. I deleted the brushes, but I still can't paint in any other color.
Has anyone else ever had this problem, and what'd you do to fix it?
I just installed PS CS6 and when I apply a layer mask to a layer I can paint black to hide the layer, but when painting white to restore the layer there is no effect. White paint will not restore the layer or modify the mask at all. The black paint works as usual to hide the layer, but how do I restore an area in a layer mask if not painting white?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just started playing around with Smoke 2013. I played around with the CFX and did some keying. Now, on the timeline, I have a clip with CFXa and an axis effect. Now I thought, that it should be a container, and that I could simply double click the clip, step into the container and copy out the matte. But that doesn't work anymore, since double clicking now enters the editor again.
So, how can I access the matte (and how can I step into the container)?
Oh, and now that the unrendered clip is on the timeline, I only get the message Unrendered Frame. Obviously Smoke can't play back an unrendered clip, but why doesn't it at least show the frame I'm parked on? And also, I started rendering, but it took forever, so I stopped after 10 min. In Smoke 2012 it rendered at least partially, but now I still only have a dotted line......

in cfx schematic , i got an action network, i set this action so it can output the comp and also the matte (the node got 2 output indicator : yellow and blue). Now if i right click and choose 'create cfx' , i will get a new cfx node , but i only output the final comp , there's no matte. In the pref, activate the 'generate alpha' will only output either white or black. Is this feature not avalable yet ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to output lens flares and rays in the matte output option from action. These obviously appear to be ok via the 'comp' option, but when I add all objects to output the matte, only the geometry appears in the output, with no sign whatsoever of flares and rays. I would imagine these are available as a choice as they do appear in the object choices. [Code]..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing a strange issue on a comp I am working with, and due to the way its set up, and the pre-comps etc, I am not even sure how to go about asking the questions!
1) To start:
I have a comp with 3 Footage layers. One 4K Moving background image from Video blocks, interpreted at 25FPS. One R3D clip of one of our ships, camera on a tripod and ship "Waggling" slightly up and down - kept in RAW mode for clean keying. A duplicate of this layer, used as the colour corrected layer.
I have a Comp that contains the RAW footage, Keyed, and the colour corrected footage below it and set to Alpha matte.
Above is the settings and the output of the ships wing.
This is then precomped, and engine glows, contrails and thrusters etc are added with Null objects, lights, optical flares and particular:
at this point, everything looks great, this is then further precomped into a new comp, where it is placed above the background layer - and here is where the issue happens. It is almost as if the trackmatte is a frame or two behind the colour layer:
<-- notice the blue edging from the blue screen.
I track these layers backwards and forwards through the precomps, and I cant figure out why this happens?
(there are keyframes on the trackers above, and the contrail precomps for position, and a scale change over time on the ship layer in the final comp.) If I pull the ships precomp into the final comp as a new layer - the issue remains. If I double click to open the ship layer, the issue is not visible.

I recently updated to Corel Draw service pack one (X5 suite). After this update the background color has changed into a light yellow when I try to export to jpeg format (see attached screen shot). In the matte color menu in the export window I have the option of changing this color. All colors are there except White! (or transparent). This is driving me nuts. I would just like to be able to export to jpeg with a White background. I have changed no settings, only installed service pack 1.
How to get rid of the yellow background/matte? I am considering uninstalling Corel Draw, then reinstalling without installing the service pack.
I can't seem to remove nodes from the Matte Blender by holding down the "Control" & "Option" keys as stated in the online tutorial.

I am having issue with a simple project. It's a simple green chroma keying project which looks ok inside Premiere, but once exported it turns into a nightmare. I will post screens instead of writing the details. I am not using any external plugins. The output is rendered with tweaked settings for H.264 Vimeo 720p 29.97 fps MP4 format. I'm working with an NDA, but the problem is only in the shadows as far as I can tell.
This is how it looks inside premiere (both reference and program look the same) This is how the matte looks. And this is the final render (checked in Quick Time and VLC).Never in my life of editing in Pr, FCPX or Smoke have I enountered this issue before.
When i am using layer masks in elements 9 I can conceal paint with a black brush, but when I want to go back over something to reveal (white brush) nothing happens. I have the layer mask selected as active and it works perfectly fine in reverse (black).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a project in which I need to do a 3 or 4-way split screen. While it's easy to set that up and position them at the right places, I cannot seem to find a way with which I could change the scale of the video with an Image Matte applied without changing that of the Matte as well. I can use offset and push the video around "underneath", so to speak, but I would love to be able to scale that video underneath as well. I know that could be done with a layer on top obscuring the video below but I find that rather cumbersome, especially with 4-way or more, adding quite a few more layers.
