Paint Shop Pro :: Automatically Save Copy Of Work In Progress Every X Minutes?
Feb 24, 2013In older versions of PSP, auto-save would automatically save a copy of the work in progress every X minutes (depending on what was set by the user) and overwriting the previous version, including the original if not working on a copy of it.
In PSPX4, auto-preserve added the functionality of saving a copy of the original to avoid overwriting it, but it also has autosave setting.
Questions :
- what does the autosave do except save the image when changing from Edit to Manage to Adjust?
- does autosave automatically save a copy (even if overwriting) of the work in progress?
- if so, where do we set how frequently a save should be?

Feb 12, 2014I recently upgraded to CC from CS5. I work on objects that have multiple elements. Since I am on CC, I am running into an annoying problem. When I copy paste an object with multiple elements, or command/option/shift + drag the object, the various elements shift in z-order.

Jun 25, 2009The draw order toolbar icon is displayed on screen. When I try to change the draw order, I hit the toolbar and get an AI_Draworder unknown command. I even moved the toolbar in a different part of the screen. The only why I can now change the draw order on an entity is the type in the word draworder in the command line. Is there any way to reactiviate the draw order toolbar?

Jun 5, 2011When I put my DSLR memory card into my computer the files appear in order in Windows Explorer, but when I double click a photo, Corel Instant Viewer opens but the thumbnails are no longer in order according to their file numbers. Some will be in order, but earlier (lower file numbers) files will be sprinkled throughout seemingly at random. I can't figure out how the viewer decides to arrange them or how I can make it display my files in the order in whidch they were shot. What am I missing?

Jun 18, 2012I want to print multiple documents with a duplex printer, so I need to set the order in which the documents are sent to the printer. In the Print dialog box, when I select "Documents" in the "Print range", I can select the documents to print, but I cannot set the order in which they're printed. I appears that the order is in reverse alphabetical (how logical!). As far as I can tell, the only way to determine the order is to rename the files (using Save As). Interestingly, if I "Save As" a pdf or "Publish to PDF", the documents are in the order in which they were loaded or created.
If you're going to offer the ability to print or export multiple documents as a single file, it seems that there should be some way to order the documents first.

Jun 2, 2012I can not get copy metadata to work in LR4 or 4.1. When I click on copy metadata, with a picture selected that has metadata, a window opens with the metadata form. None of the check boxes has any metadata in them from the picture I selected. If I fill in some of the boxes and then paste to another picture, that works. The same thing happens with sync. It appears that the metadata from the selected picture is not read when clicking on copy metadata.. I am running LR4.1 under Win 7 on a PC.

AutoCad :: COPY PASTE From Another Drawing Does Not Work
Jan 14, 2013list all known reasons for pasting and inserting geometry to the DWG might fail.
1) Block that was not created by Autocad application was inserted to the drawing.E.g. the guy who does installation network sent you the file, and you happily inserted his work to your DWG.Bummer, copy paste stopped working.
SOLUTION: Weed out all of his blocks see Block removal thread. Design center might be of use (ADCENTER).
PREVENTION: Before inserting any outside work to your drawing do open it in Autocad and do EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command, than -PURGE /r, -PURGE /a, audit SAVE, CLOSE, RECOVER, SAVE. After that you can use the data more safely and insert to your drawing.
Do check block and attribute names and change to your needs. Try not to have same names if the actual block or attribute is really not the same.Check all the layer names, styles and line types too so you do not inherit what you do not need.

Mar 6, 2013Here I have several concentric squares in an uninterrupted stack.I moved the topmost (small orange) one vertically.I then went to the Alignment panel, selected all the squares and clicked on the one I moved.Then I clicked on Vertical Distribute Center.
The right hand picture shows what happened.One of the squares (that big orange one) near the bottom of the stack shot up so that its centre was above the centre of the topmost one in the stack.The centres are evenly distributed but why is the stacking order not controlling the order in which the squares are arranged?
Fortunately the positioning of that big orange square was easy to correct, but something tells me this is not the way things are supposed to happen.Seemingly this does not always happen. I have tried the method on several stacks. Some were o.k., others showed similar behaviour to the above.
Photoshop :: Reselect Doesn't Work After (new Layer Via Copy)
Jun 21, 2013I have been having trouble with the reselect tool for a while now. I often select something and then use new layer via copy ( J). The problem is that I cannot reselect after doing that (the option is grayed out), and it doesn't matter if I do the new layer copy with the shortcut or menu.
I am using CS5 with Mac 10.8.4, just recently switched from 10.6.8 (it hasn't worked in either). I do know that I have successfully used reselect after J before, but it was on a work computer -- I believe that computer was running 10.6.8 but it might have been CS4 if I recall correctly.
There are definitely workarounds like saving a selection or path, but they are still a little slower to use when it is something that I don't need to keep around for a while. I sometimes can use command-click on the layer icon but that selects the newly copied pixels, which can sometimes be different than what I had selected -- for example, if I copied a portion of a layer of linework, it will select the lines alone but not the area that I had.

The isuue is dwg related. It only happens when i paste to some of my dwg (usualy the most important ones...). All the drawing files that are affected are in 2013 format, but if i save them to older version the problem persist.
I ve tried
-purge r, purge a, audit, save
-wblock explode, purge a, audit, save
to no avail.
Tried many other solutions sa well, but nothing worked. What on earth could be wrong with DWG to prevent pasting from another drawing? Those drawings have been saved to lower formats before.

i've purged, i've audited, i've even created a new drawing and transfered the information but im still getting this problem.The strange thing is occasionally it works.also, i purge so the drawing it is clean, then i try to paste, then when purging again 1000's of blocks appear in the purge diologue box. A49285 to A55404 & a block called A$C4E2C21A4
AutoCAD 2010 :: Copy / Paste And Delete Don't Work
May 9, 2012I've got a user that when he clicks on an item to highlight it, he can't drag it anywhere, can't copy and paste it, and can't delete it. I've uninstalled and resinstalled the application more than once. After an uninstall, I went through all directories and deleted all remaining files and folders that had either Autodesk or AutoCAD in the name and spent 1 1/2 hrs sifting through the registry and eliminating all Autodesk and AutoCAD entries. I then reinstalled the application (AutoCAD 2010), and the user is still having the same issues.

AutoCad :: Copy And Move Work Differently In Some Drawings
Jul 7, 2011Normally when I hit move or copy there cursor will change to a square and I can click single items for the command. If I enter "c" on the command line and change to the cross cursor I can select multiple objects by clicking and dragging.
In some drawing the cursor will not change to a square and I can not enter "c" on the command line. I can select single objects but the cursor becomes the standard windows arrow.
Is there a setting / variable in the drawing that can affect this?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Copy Line-work From 2012 To 2009
Sep 26, 2012I go back and forth between older drawings in 2009 a lot while my current drawings are in Civil 3d 2012. Is there a way to copy linework from a Civil 3D drawing into my 2009 drawing easily. I used to be able to copy and paste between drawings but that doesn't work between these versions. Right now I have to wblock out the linework and open that new drawing and save as 2004 then import it into the old drawing.

Aug 1, 2012I have two DWG files and I want to paste the content of the first into the second file with the original coordinates. It sounds very easy (and I am sure it is) but I am still failing. I open the first file, select all (crtl a), copy all (crtl a), open the other file and want to chose the function: right click > paste with original coordinates. But this open is not active (grey) and can not be clicked. Actually there is no paste function available to click on if I do a right click.
btw. I am working with AutoCAD 2012.

Nov 12, 2012When I import pictures from my SD Card I usually leave copies on the card for a while so I have them as backup, and to also be able to see recent pics on my camera. However each time I go to import pictures from that card within LR, it defaults to selecting all pics on my SD card even though I have the "New Photos" filter selected at the top of the import box. It always puts all my photos in the "New Photos" section, so I have to deselect all the photos that I have already imported into my catalogue so I don't get duplicates. How do I get LR to only import pics that haven't been imported bfore?
I am aware of the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" option, but that is not the samea as what I am looking for. It only deselects photos that still exist in my catalogue. Any photos that I have deleted from my catalogue remain selected in the import box as it doesn't see any duplicates.
what I'm missing to have LR only select photos that haven't been previously imported from that card?
