I know that sounds easy, and it should be...I used to be able to do this the standard way (ctrl+c in Illustrator, ctrl+v in Powerpoint), however now the result is just a load of code inside Powerpoint and no image. (other than exporting as pngs etc.)

Aug 20, 2013I'm attempting to copy paste a block and a line from one tab to another in the same drawing and it doesnt appear. I get
Command: _pasteclip Duplicate definition of block _Oblique ignored.
Duplicate definition of block _ArchTick ignored.
Duplicate definition of block attr_FFL ignored.
i've purged, i've audited, i've even created a new drawing and transfered the information but im still getting this problem.The strange thing is occasionally it works.also, i purge so the drawing it is clean, then i try to paste, then when purging again 1000's of blocks appear in the purge diologue box. A49285 to A55404 & a block called A$C4E2C21A4Â
AutoCad :: Copy Paste With Original Coordinates Doesn't Work?
Aug 1, 2012I have two DWG files and I want to paste the content of the first into the second file with the original coordinates. It sounds very easy (and I am sure it is) but I am still failing. I open the first file, select all (crtl a), copy all (crtl a), open the other file and want to chose the function: right click > paste with original coordinates. But this open is not active (grey) and can not be clicked. Actually there is no paste function available to click on if I do a right click.
btw. I am working with AutoCAD 2012.
Illustrator :: Object Scaling Doesn't Seem To Work Correctly With Objects Containing Bezier Curves
Feb 21, 2014I created a closed object that had a Bezier curve as part of it's definition. I wanted to scale it by 110% and then use this second enlarged object to create a sort of a background underneath the first object to create a sort of a shadow effect. But rather than the second object being uniformly larger than the first it intersects the original object in ways that don't make sense to me.

Is there an easier/differnt way to create an effect like this? I can do it but have to manually adjust a lot of points in the new object so that they create a uniformly larger version of the original object but it's a lot of effort for something that works fine for normal polygons with straight lines (e.g. a star with 5 points).

i've attached an image of what I get with this technique of creating two examples of two objects one a 110% scale version of the other. The first star shows the effect I'm trying to get and the second shows the problem (the red border does not surround the black object uniformly around the perimeter)
Illustrator :: How To Copy A Graph From PowerPoint
Apr 5, 2013I've used earlier version of Adove Illustrator without any problem, but once I start trying CS6, I cannot copy a graph that I inserted from GraphPad to Microsoft PowerPoint. I converted GraphPad file from version 6 to version 5 and then some of file can be copied & pasted to Illustrator Artboard. Most of them cannot be copied properly. It shows only axis title with empty box way far away from Artboard.Â

Nov 17, 2013Weld doesn't seem to work correctly on some ARCs, though I don't quite know which ones yet. Here's an example - A left and right box created to allow two hemispheres to be made. Now try to "weld" them into a circle, and the program fails and delets both, replacing them with some rubbish.
This is most definitely a bug... It's very unusual behavior. Also, when ARCs are used in a welded shape, and it's extruded, it sometimes fails to make a solid. I found that two arcs with two polylines worked, but four arc and four polylines did not.
Also, if we're submitting bugs via Corel rather than directly with Graebert, is it possible to get a bug tracking list on the forum?
 Update: Took this ( and others ) to Corel Support. They looked into it, and apparently weld doesn't do what the training videos say it does ( and it doesn't quite do what AutoCAD thinks either ) - but it's all moot.
To do this - Type PEDIT and then M for Multiple polylines. Select and convert them all, then JOIN. Works beautifully. So, if connecting lines, don't use WELD or JOIN - use PEDIT and convert to Polylines first.

Maya Modeling :: Keep Faces Together When Extruding Doesn't Work Correctly
Feb 2, 2012 I'm pretty sure that 'Keep faces together' when extruding does not work correctly in 2012. Well not on my mac anyhow. If you wish to replicate my problem here is my workflow-
Create cube poly > make some subdivisions> select some faces> extrude with 'keep faces together" unchecked> Select a face and use move tool, notice that faces will move apart as they should> Now select some more faces> extrude with 'keep faces together' checked this time> select a face and use move tool> notice how face is still separate as it SHOULD NOT be.

1) Block that was not created by Autocad application was inserted to the drawing.E.g. the guy who does installation network sent you the file, and you happily inserted his work to your DWG.Bummer, copy paste stopped working.
SOLUTION: Weed out all of his blocks see Block removal thread. Design center might be of use (ADCENTER).
PREVENTION: Before inserting any outside work to your drawing do open it in Autocad and do EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command, than -PURGE /r, -PURGE /a, audit SAVE, CLOSE, RECOVER, SAVE. After that you can use the data more safely and insert to your drawing.
Do check block and attribute names and change to your needs. Try not to have same names if the actual block or attribute is really not the same.Check all the layer names, styles and line types too so you do not inherit what you do not need.
AutoCAD LT :: Hatch - Island Detect Doesn't Work Correctly When Used With Object Select
Mar 28, 2012I am trying to write a script that will automatically hatch several drawings. The drawings contain an area in which there are several objects that need to be hatched. For each drawing the objects vary in location within the one area.I figured I would set up my script to encompass the area with the object select hatch technique. This works fine if the objects in the area have no Islands. However when an object within the "object select hatch area" contains Islands it shades the whole object ignoring the Island or if it does recognize an island it will create an individual hatch for it.Â
However when I use the pick internal point method the hatch comes out as expected for the object with the Islands in it.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Copy Paste From Another Drawing Does Not Work

The isuue is dwg related. It only happens when i paste to some of my dwg (usualy the most important ones...). All the drawing files that are affected are in 2013 format, but if i save them to older version the problem persist.
I ve tried
-purge r, purge a, audit, save
-wblock explode, purge a, audit, save
to no avail.
Tried many other solutions sa well, but nothing worked. What on earth could be wrong with DWG to prevent pasting from another drawing? Those drawings have been saved to lower formats before.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Copy / Paste And Delete Don't Work
May 9, 2012I've got a user that when he clicks on an item to highlight it, he can't drag it anywhere, can't copy and paste it, and can't delete it. I've uninstalled and resinstalled the application more than once. After an uninstall, I went through all directories and deleted all remaining files and folders that had either Autodesk or AutoCAD in the name and spent 1 1/2 hrs sifting through the registry and eliminating all Autodesk and AutoCAD entries. I then reinstalled the application (AutoCAD 2010), and the user is still having the same issues.Â

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Surface Clipboard Copy - Paste Does Not Work Fine
Mar 20, 2013You can copy both the surface and the original (in this case contour polylines) data or only the surface. In both cases paste operation results into a copy of both data and surface.
Ok, But when paste and rebuild, the distance from original base point and destination point is applied in turn to the surface itself. Maybe it is a BUG ?

Aug 14, 2012I've just updated to the latest version which I'm pleased to say resolves both the pdf arrow issue and the text issue I had.
Xara will not paste text copied from a table in powerpoint 2010. My workaround is to copy and paste the table text into a text box within powerpoint and then copy that text into Xara. However I do a lot of pasting from tables in powerpoint and obviously if i could copy direct (as I could from older versions of powerpoint) then my workflow time would half for this -

Photoshop :: Reselect Doesn't Work After (new Layer Via Copy)
Jun 21, 2013I have been having trouble with the reselect tool for a while now. I often select something and then use new layer via copy ( J). The problem is that I cannot reselect after doing that (the option is grayed out), and it doesn't matter if I do the new layer copy with the shortcut or menu.

I am using CS5 with Mac 10.8.4, just recently switched from 10.6.8 (it hasn't worked in either). I do know that I have successfully used reselect after J before, but it was on a work computer -- I believe that computer was running 10.6.8 but it might have been CS4 if I recall correctly.

There are definitely workarounds like saving a selection or path, but they are still a little slower to use when it is something that I don't need to keep around for a while. I sometimes can use command-click on the layer icon but that selects the newly copied pixels, which can sometimes be different than what I had selected -- for example, if I copied a portion of a layer of linework, it will select the lines alone but not the area that I had.
Lightroom :: Copy New Photos Doesn't Work In Import Dialog
Nov 12, 2012When I import pictures from my SD Card I usually leave copies on the card for a while so I have them as backup, and to also be able to see recent pics on my camera. However each time I go to import pictures from that card within LR, it defaults to selecting all pics on my SD card even though I have the "New Photos" filter selected at the top of the import box.  It always puts all my photos in the "New Photos" section, so I have to deselect all the photos that I have already imported into my catalogue so I don't get duplicates. How do I get LR to only import pics that haven't been imported bfore? Â

I am aware of the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" option, but that is not the samea as what I am looking for.  It only deselects photos that still exist in my catalogue.  Any photos that I have deleted from my catalogue remain selected in the import box as it doesn't see any duplicates. Â

May 27, 2012I am using Adobe Photoshop CS6, latest version as of 05/25/12.I have 19 layers, each has a 1200x1200px texture. These are of course overlapped, so setting them all to visible will only show the top layer.

All layers are rasterized, and contain 1200x1200px:

1) I select all 19 layers using shift+click, all are highlighted (in the layer pane).
2) I select a region using the selection tool, in this case a rectangular region that is 172px high and 35px wide.
3) I right click the selection, and then select: layer via copy. (Note, Layer via cut is disabled for some reason)
4) *problem* It creates 19 new layers with the full image from the selected layers and not the selection which is what I wanted to place in the new layers.
5) *problem* when I right click the selection and select "Free Transform", the transform box surrounds the entire canvas and not the selection.
6) *problem* when I skew, it skews the entire image and not just the selection.

7) *problem* Previously, I have been able to select a layer from the layer pane, go to image menu, select adjustments, brightness/contrast, and adjust the brightness/contrast for just that layer. Now it wont let me.

8) *related problem* If I have 3 layers (background, 1, and 2) on a 1200x1200 canvas, with the image in layer 1 being 150px, and the image in layer 2 being 150x, each rasterized, and then stack the images on 1 and 2 over eachother, then select both layers, then select a region inside the stacked images, then select free transform, the free transform selection embodies all pixels inside the canvas (not the entire canvas this time) and performs the transform on these pixels and not the original selection.

If I do it making all the layers visible as well as selected, it behaves the same.What appears to be happening is Photoshop is ignoring the selection and for some reason is using a pixel region (or if pixels cover the entire canvas, the whole image) when performing actions intended for the selection.

What's strange is when I made these textures, I started out with 19 150x150 pictures, I set the canvas size to 1200x1200, selected all the layers in the layer pane, selected the 150x150 image in the middle, and was able to move all 19 textures to the top right corner, able to switch to transform on all 19 pictures, able to rotate 180 degrees all 19 pictures, was able to flip horizontal all 19 pictures, then able to copy all 19 pictures to new layers, move the 19 pictures all at the same time to the right 150 pixels, rinse and repeat, to eventually come out with 19 1200x1200 textures tiled from the 150px pictures. In other words, I did exactly what I am attempting to do with the 1200x1200 pictures with the 150x150 pixtures and it worked like a champ.
The end goal of course is to take a selection of all 19 of the 1200x1200 pictures, transform, then skew that image to make a collage of images applied to an added background. Performing this on all 19 textures and getting the same exact skew, etc would take days considering I need to do about 15 of different portions of the tile.
Illustrator :: Can't Copy Paste From CS
Aug 29, 2012Ever since I upgraded to CS6, I have big problems copying from illustrator to photoshop. I can get it to succesfully paste about 20% of the time. AI starts "not responding" while I'm trying to paste to photoshop every single time, but can usually snap out of it after a few minutes. It seems to have no rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't.Â

Dec 16, 2012When copying a gradient filled shape from illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 an outline "halo" appears in the Photoshop image although the shape has no outline to begin with. Is this a clipboard issue? Is it an anti-aliasing setting I can change? Apparently it isn't as noticeable when I drag the shape from illustrator to Photoshop as it is when using the copy/paste command. But in both situations there seem to be issues in the border when gradient filled shapes touch other shapes.

This probles is getting worse. My file size is unusual as well. A comparable file is 155k and this one is up to 65 meg and growing.
