Use Oberon's macro that copies to adobe Illustrator with Draw X5? I haven't been able to make it work. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that it relies on some of the old Corel scripting commands?
View 9 RepliesFrequently, I want to copy a bitmap from PhotoPaint X6 and paste into Corel Draw X6. I want to avoid exporting or saving the bitmap - just copy and paste. So what I'm copying is a CPT. I am having no luck pasting into Corel Draw from Photo Paint. I can copy and paste from Photo Paint into WordPerfect X4 although I do get the message that the "OLE object could not be created".
I've used the Copy/Paste from Edit and also the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. The option to Paste Special is not available in Corel Draw under these circumstances.
I'm running Vista Home Premium and have installed all updates to the Windows system.
I am not using X6 to fully create all of my artwork just yet. I'm still using X4 for my big jobs, but am fooling around with new features in X6 as I need them and am trying to copy them to the clipboard while in X6 and then paste them into X4.
Whenever I do this, the artwork that I paste into X4 is always pasted as an Object and not a regular vector file like what usually happens while cutting and pasting between previous versions.
Is this a bug or is there a setting that I'm missing in X6 to change it so that it will paste into X4 as a regular vector file?
To avoid this problem for now, I've been having to save the X6 artwork as CDR Version 14 and then import it into X4. It's a waste of time compared to hitting Cntrl+C and Cntrl+V...I know it doesn't seem like much more time, but it adds up over the day.
To speed up the copy/paste, try this one, 1st of all change u r nudge offset to greater than u r document size, select the object tap the left or right arrow keys in keyboard so the object will go on the pasteboard, go to the next page select the object again tap the arrow keys again to get the object on the same position.

fwiw I'm using 'paste special' and using picture (metafile) this way I can keep the points. if I just paste as autocad I loose the points, and an arc might become a rectangle as far as points go...
I tried DWG and DXF and it's the same problem. metafile lets me keep the edges and such for nodes at least. I'm having the issue primarily with DesignCAD and AutoCAD
i have a 2 artistic text blocks (both with different fonts) in same corel document and when i ctrl+c/ctrl+v from one to other it copy/paste not only the text but also font type/size and color.
I want just the text copied not all the properties.
Ever since I upgraded to CS6, I have big problems copying from illustrator to photoshop. I can get it to succesfully paste about 20% of the time. AI starts "not responding" while I'm trying to paste to photoshop every single time, but can usually snap out of it after a few minutes. It seems to have no rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't.

It allows to save properly, on preview mode shows what is in the file, size of the file is correct as well. But when trying to open it opens as a blank page or is not opening at all.
Did a test- saved file with a simple objects / text only. Cant open.
plus- doesnt allow to copy & paste.
Reinstall all coreldraw package- still the same problem.
For some reason i can no longer copy and paste text from one page to another properly.
I write the text out as normal (not using a text box) but when i copy and then try to past to another page it then does several other things.
It changes the font and cap height, puts it onto a text box and centres it on the page?
If i copy and paste text along with an object (say a simple box) everything copies and pastes perfectly, just not text on its own
the speed of cutting and pasting, as well as saving a drawing in CorelDraw X5 has drastically slowed down.Could it be a Windows issue and not a Corel issue? I have plenty of RAM and I've defragged.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen copying a gradient filled shape from illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 an outline "halo" appears in the Photoshop image although the shape has no outline to begin with. Is this a clipboard issue? Is it an anti-aliasing setting I can change? Apparently it isn't as noticeable when I drag the shape from illustrator to Photoshop as it is when using the copy/paste command. But in both situations there seem to be issues in the border when gradient filled shapes touch other shapes.

This probles is getting worse. My file size is unusual as well. A comparable file is 155k and this one is up to 65 meg and growing.

I know that sounds easy, and it should be...I used to be able to do this the standard way (ctrl+c in Illustrator, ctrl+v in Powerpoint), however now the result is just a load of code inside Powerpoint and no image. (other than exporting as pngs etc.)

I just recently reformated my computer and I've been having an issue with copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop. Before I could copy a 2"x2" vector box from Illustrator into photoshop making a new document and the size and resolution would match. That is the new document would say 2"x2" at 300 ppi in photoshop and the preset would read "clipboard". I would then hit ok and paste and it would match perfectly. Now since I've reformated, photoshop always creates a new document with the wrong size regardless of the settings I enter in Illustrator or photoshop. I have document raster and effects set at 300 ppi in Illustrator and I have the new document set at 300 in photoshop, but it always transfers the 2"x2" box at 72 dpi regardless of settings. Again this used to work before so I'm assuming there is some setting I forgot about.
The main issue is the clipboard preset is not matching the document size, its almost as if Illustartor is telling photoshop it's a different resolution when it's not. Copying to 72 ppi seems to have no issue, which makes me think Illustrator just isn't sending it out at 300 ppi, but I don't know why as I have the document set at 300 ppi. I confirmed this as I can make a 2"x2" box in photoshop and paste into Illustrator and it reads as 2"x2" at 300 ppi in Illustrator, but if I copy from Illustrator back to photoshop it pastes it at 72 ppi. Changing the settings to 300 ppi in Illustrator seems to have no effect. Might be a bug. Should I try reinstalling?
slow copy to clipboard? I have pinned it down to my virus protection. I use McAfee and I notice that my CPU goes up considerably when I do a copy to clipboard under mcshield.exe. When I turn off the McAfee, copy to clipboard in X6 works fast and perfectly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem in trying to copy text from an existing multi column text box and pasting it into another existing text box. It just doesn't work. If I copy text from a single column text box into another text box, single or multi column, it does work.
The only was to copy text from a multi column text box is to use paste special which then creates a completely new single column text box and pastes the text there. I loose all the formatting.
I can then copy the text from the text box created by that paste special process and then copy that to where I want it to go, but of course I then have to reset all the formatting.
I'm using the latest version of Corel Draw X6 -this probem however seems to have been introduced in X6 as I've just open X5 on my system and the copy/paste functon works as it shoud.
Whenever I try to copy paste a vector from Illustrator (CS6 64) to Photoshop (CS6 64) I get the following error:
I'm on Windows 7 and have my Scratch disks set to non-system drives. Have checked permissions and nothing is Read Only.
I can paste as Shape and Shape Layer but not Pixels or Smart Object.
If I copy/paste a gradient filled object between two Illustrator CS6 documents, the gradient becomes a blend. This doesn't happen however if just drag the object from one open document to another.
Is there a way to correct this copy/paste behaviour?
I think I've got lots of existing files coming with this problem, the file is really slow and I try to use below method but it didn't work, since there's thousands of script "%AI8_BeginPluginObject" in that AI file.. Any other methods I can use so as to fix it.... and I'm using CS5 version, [UR] .....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run AI CS6. I open new document and prepare two shapes and fill them up with Pantone colors for reference, for my design. I procced to make some work, name cards for example.
Now I want to send the card to my printer, while I work on the rest of colleterals. So I open new document, identical to the one I oppened 30 minutes ago. I don't change color setting or anything. But when I paste the cards to new document, they change color.When I sample the colors, the Color Pallet identifes them correctly by thier pantone number.
After Copy/Paste form PS cmyk object/picture into AI i noticed that it looses original colors making color conversion CMYK->RGB->CMYK (with AI defined cmyk profile).WHY?
Didn't find any preference in AI (or PS) about that.
For some time I was using CorelDraw 12 with Windows XP and Excel 2007.I normally make some tables in Excel which I copy and paste into Corel using "Paste special"/Picture/Enhanced Metafile. In Windows XP there was no problem. Since I switched to Windows 7, I have the following problems:
- The font Wingdings 3 comes out as Arial.
- The second problem is a very strange thing: Some characters, such as ,-"; , always at the END of the line, just dissapear. It happens sometimes, not always, and I can't see absolutely no logic in it: I copy the same thing, paste it several times, and sometimes the comma comes out, sometimes not. I remember that this happened to me ONCE, long time ago, when I was still using XP, but then I restarted Corel and it stopped making problems. But now, with Windows 7, it happens almost all the time. I tried it on a few different PCs and I even tried it with Corel X4. Always the same problem.
I am using corel X6 64 on a Dell optiplex 9010 intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. 8.00GB of RAM. Its taking about 1-2 minutes to copy/cut/open a file/save a file or even publish to PDF. On the same machine Same circumstances but different User i have no problem. I have to use my user because its connected to my email and at this company i cant change that. I have researched many forums and its not color styles or object styles. It does it on a new file with only one object created. I got a new computer signed on to my user account and the problem persists.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I copied text over from Photoshop to illustrator it kept the text formatting. For example the font, font size, color. Now when I use CC and copy paste text from PS to AI, all text formatting is lost and everything is placed as whatever the current AI text setting is.
HOWEVER, pasting from AI to PS WORKS as it should. All font/text formatting is maintained. Is this a bug or is there a setting for this that I just never knew about?
I'm working in Illustrator CS5 and I want to know if it is possible to copy and paste an effect like a drop shadow. For example, let's say I create a document with some text which has a drop shadow on it and some without the effect. Next I create text in a different font with a different drop shadow effect (different settings for the drop shadow attributes). Later in the project I decide, I want to go back and add the first effect to several objects and/or text in my image. Is there a way to copy that effect and paste it in?
I know that I can go in and manually copy the settings of the effect I want to copy, add the effect to a new object, and then re-apply the effect from that point, but is there a way to simplify the process by just copying the effect?

View 8 Replies View RelatedScenario: Start with a named graphic style of say 2 pt black stroke/no fill called '2.0 pt'. Create an object using said style, copy and paste it, every time I do this I get '2.0 pt 1', '2.0 pt 2', '2.0 pt 3' etc. insanely populating my graphic styles panel.
This is with CS6 (16.0.4) running on Mac OS X.6.8.
