Ideally the border would be better 'outside'. Once I have a method, I could of course make the border a bit fancier by adding another thinner one outside it.
I use PSP8, but reckon I could adapt methods suggested for later versions.
I need to add into the metadata, a drop down option where classification/privacy markings can be selected. This needs to be visible for search options as well as being available for batch process........
Currently using CS5 PS.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am working on adding metadata to my images. Many are works of my own or public domain art pieces. I need to be able to add an artist's name as Lastname, First, but that would result in two metadata bits. Is there a way to add in a comma as part of the tag?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a copyright template made (using PS CS5) & when I download new images to my iMac it automatically adds this copyright data to each image downloaded.
I have a web page with many images on it I made prior to this. I wish to add my copyright metadata to those images. I have a folder on my desktop which contains all the image copies of what I uploaded to my website. Is there a way I can select all the images in the folder by opening in Bridge and adding the template to all selected at once?
If I could do that, then I would re-upload all the images to my website overwriting the old ones to up date with copyrighted images.
I wonder whether it is possible to add custom attirbutes to AutoCAD Documents. Like, when adding new key-value pairs to the OS registry. I see this as a function that can add a pair "attribute" => "value" to the Document's database (or another saveable component) and later pull the "value" back by passing the "attribute" to another function.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS3 for Windows. I have created a metadata template in Bridge with my contact information and my copyright information, etc. When I created the template the field called Copyright Status was not available but if I open an image and go into File Info by doing Shift-Ctrl-Alt-I the Copyright Status field is available and I can change it from Unknown to Copyrighted. I like this field because it shows the image is Copyrighted (Unknown looks bad and unprofessional) and also when you open the image in PS the © symbol shows at the top of the screen in front of the file name.
Is there a way to create a metadata template where I can have Copyrighted in the Copyright Status field?
I have a number of photos in LR that came from a older non-digital camera or scanner and I would like to be able to add some information to the metadata like camera make and model but some of the fileds are not visible unless the data was brought into LR at import. Other fields in the metal data cannot be over written or corrected. I would like to be able to do global editing to my metadata but I can't even modify one. I read some postings going back to 2007 on a forum here but I don't think anything has changed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn the past I've been successful adding and storing metadata to the 'Description' column in the project window in the past with the 'Link' symbol activated in the Metadata panel under 'ile'>Dublin Core>>Description. This would allow me to retain the description metadata when the media is imported into a different project.
However I am using this same procedure this week, but the data does not seem to be saving/adding to the XMP 'File' metadata. See screen shot below. I've experienced this problem within different proejcts and with the three main media types in our production house: XDCAM EX, P2 MXF and Ikegami MXF.
Why this would work previously, but not now? Is it related to the latest version updates?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSeems that Photoshop ignores metadata on a Nikon raw image if the Metadata is written on the camera and not in PS. The powers to be suggest is that you duplicate the effort by writting this metadata in PS. Have a problem with that as why duplicate the work/effort if it is already written on the camera at the time the image is taken. Specifically on my camera I have th eimage comment field as 'Image taken by my name'. When I view a Nikon raw iamge via PS I don't see this field as well as approx 8 other metadata fields/categories. If I use teh Nikon viewing software IViewNX) I see all the metadata. Heres the kicker - if I save the raw image under PS it (PS) will remove all the metadata it doesn't see or know about.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been wondering why my backups (differential) weregetting larger than they should, and I noticed that some of the files (.psd and .jpg, and mayde few .tiff) were modified. Interestingly, I do not see this happening to cr2-files, that I mostly use. After trying to figure out what's going on I noticed that corresponding xmp-files were modified also. This is not the issue due to their small size, but still I had not edited images that were changed for quite a while.
Change that I see in xmp-files is rather large, and presumably related to Adobe's change in xmp-data structure. Eg.
<x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 5.3-c007 1.136881, 2010/06/10-18:11:35 "><x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 4.2-c020 1.124078, Tue Sep 11 2007 23:21:40 ">
In addition to the sample above, whole xmp structure is changed. So I presume that maybe LR is writing metadata chages to xmp in the background?
What I find disturbing is that when checking changed jpg files, I saw the similar data written into the jpg files also (files were created with oldish Canon 20D, and not edited for quite a while). These are examples from changed jpg-files (not the same from which the abone xmp-data change was taken, but similar change is visible in the corresponding XMP):
Also jpg-file from offset 0x04 was changed from "50 60" to "51 18". Also offset 0x10 was changed (16 bits). I have Lightroom configuration option "Include develope settings in Metadata Inside JPEG, TIFF and PSD Files" not selected. The option "Automatically write changes to XMP" is selected. To my understanding neither of these should not have impact to the issue. Is there something else I should check?
Change is made most likely by Lightroom 3.5 version, and has not occurred with previous versions. I have not notices this happening with 3.6, but I have been using it only few weeks. Is this known issue with previous version 3.5, or am I missing something obvious? System running is Windows 7 pro 64bit. I have not have any issues with LR lately, except crashes that I white about a week ago.
As far as I can tell, Copy Metadata and Synchonize Metadata do the same thing. Is there a difference in what they do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWould it be possible to automatically set the name of the folder in the "put in subfolder" export option, based on that image metadata (or on a preset, as it is, for example, for filenames)? Maybe a plugin? - image in "summer 2013" gets exported in "summer 2013 jpg" subfolder, where "summer 2013" is taken from the "folder" metadata and "jpg" either from the filetype or manually added.

We often work remotely on a laptop, then come back to the studio and transfer images from a shoot to the main PC for further work. Some adjustments in Lightroom were done to some images in the folder already, as well as rating some of the best images.
It seems the recommended way of copying images from a laptop to the main PC is to use the "Export as Catalog" function with the "Export negative files" option turned on. However, when working with hundreds of files, this process takes a very long time, and also duplicates the images on the same laptop in the export location. This doesn't work well when working with 50GB of files, especially when only a few of them have any Lightroom adjustments anyways.
Is there a way to just copy the entire directory structure over to the main PC (copying files is fairly quick over Gigabit Ethernet), and then export only the metadata for the files (or catalog) over to the main PC so I can keep the adjustments?
In other words, instead of having to do this:
1. Export as Catalog
2. Wait a very long time for the laptop to duplicate all the images and export files
3. Re-import this catalog to my Main catalog
4. Wait a very long time for this to happen
It would be WAY faster to just do this:
1. Copy entire folder structure from laptop to main PC (this is quick)
2. Export metadata from these files only
3. Import metadata to new PC
I'm running version 2.8.2 of GIMP on Kubuntu 12.10. I do not remember which version I was running before this one, but it was possible to press ALT + ENTER to open a properties dialog where one could enter / modify a description for the opened image. ALT + ENTER does nothing in this new version, but I think that I should enter the File -> Properties dialog to do this, right? The dialog is different and it is in a different menu now, but it seems here is where we should enter / edit image metadata. However, nothing that I fill in this dialog is saved. I enter the title, author, description, etc., but when I click OK the info is discarded without warning. If I go back to the File -> Properties dialog right after confirming the data I had just entered, the dialog is blank again. Is this a bug or am I looking for the enter / edit metadata functionality in the wrong place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to embed long text strings to image metadata, in order to copy and paste memories written and related to these images. As an example, I'm keeping a sailing logbook and I would like to add the daily entries to pictures but I have run into problems when sharing images elsewhere. Which standard metadata fields allow longest text strings that I could use for my logbook entries without the fear of losing them when exporting or sharing them elsewhere?

When I was using PSP X I was able to add text to a template document simply by pressing the 'A' text tool, positioning the cursor, left clicking to open the text entry box and then typing (usually just the date), this I can't do in PSP X3 as the ' highlighted input box' hovers over a saved documents' previous input - (usually a month) and won't open or move without dragging the month with it. The cursor offers spurious flashes before leaving me with a flashing horizontal bar unable to proceed. The problem still occurs regardless of which previously saved and archived document I try to make adjustments to.
I had this problem too 12 months ago with a trial version which I had expected was a download fault but I think not. The routine still works fine on PSP X
I posted a gallery, but having problems with inserting thumbnails to my post. i did read the pictorium posting tips, but none seem to work.

Should I have saved the tennis court as a png file also? The background doesn't need to be transparent.
