This does not seem to be much of a problem for True Type Fonts installed in the Windows 7 FONT Folder,but it would be very handy to have some simple quick document, or screen, that would do the same for the AutoCAD SHX font folder.

Aug 10, 2011When I try to enter text and select the drop down menu for font selection, my list of font styles does not show up until you put your cursor over a spefic font. Otherwise the list is blank. I tried to install the repair feature from the disk but that didnt change it.

Sep 23, 2008On all previous versions of photoshop, whatever fonts were in the windows/fonts folder were available to use in the character pallet. Now, with CS3, only the system fonts show up. Some of the other fonts are listed separately at the bottom of the list...but by name only. Meaning they are not actually the font style that they claim to be.

Jan 23, 2012This just happened, I shut down and rebooted my computer as it has been a while since i turned it off. When I restarted and launched Corel I found that some of my fonts were missing. In particular Arial, which is my default font, was no longer in the list and was replaced by some other random font. I opened Font Navigator and saw that arial was not in the list of installed fonts, so I had to reinstall it. I checked my windows font list and Arial was installed. This has happened before but I didn't too much attention to it. why corel would just randomly drop fonts?

Nov 18, 2003ttf files into the windows/font folder like everybody says, but they wont appear in the font select menu. I've tried closing and opening photoshop, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop, AND uninstalling and reinstalling illustrator just to make sure, but to no avail. They all appear in the font folder, but photoshop will not recognize them. Furthermore, I've been able to add new fonts in the past, they display in the font menu just fine...but not the ones I recently tried to put in. What's going on here? Are there more than one kind of .ttf ? Is there a way to force photoshop to look at the font folder?
I've been tearing out my hair, trying to do this for hours...

Nov 28, 2013I had been using 2.8.0, adding some text to graphics. I came back from a brief break, and the next time I added text, the font was extremely narrow, to the point that it was illegible.
At first I tried simply shutting GIMP down and restarting. No such luck. Next, I uninstalled GIMP, then I ran CCleaner to get rid of any residual files and settings, then I reinstalled GIMP, still using the 2.8.0 Windows installer, and still, the issue persisted.
** EDIT ** I tested ALL fonts, the problems happens with each one.
So I uninstalled again, did the CCleaner thing, then downloaded and installed 2.8.8, and the problem still persists.
Again, fonts and texts had been working without an issue all day. I stepped away from my PC to get food. There was no one in the house that could have messed with any settings, no pets to accidentally press keys or anything like that.
I am at a complete loss. I've looked at every possible setting I could think of that could possibly impact how fonts are rendered, and changing settings still does nothing.
I have found an inconvenient workaround for this problem, but at least I can now get some work done.
The problem still occurs when I try to insert text into an EXISTING image, but if a create a NEW IMAGE with a background color, text displays and renders as it should. If I choose a transparent background, I still get the problem with the text rendering too narrow to be legible.
So something about existing images and/or transparent backgrounds contributes to this issue. But as long as I create my text layer in a new image, I can then just copy and paste that layer into the image I want to edit, and I can even edit the text once it has been pasted without problems.
Still, this is very inconvenient, especially when I am trying to place text in precise positions.

Nov 8, 2011I have a situation where I need to add additional columns to a parts list.
These columns will not be a standard inventor column option, I need to put a specific number for reference in that column.
I start by double clicking on the parts list to bring up the editing option. Then I click on "Column Chooser" where I can personalize the parts list.
There is an option to add a "blank" column, which is great, but I need to add more than one.
Every time i add the "blank" column it disappears from the "Available Properties" it goes to the "Selected Properties" side and then when I click on "New Property" to add another "blank" column, it wont let me.
When trying to add the new property I am pressing the "space bar" key in order to leave it blank, but it just wont show as an "add" option in the "aAvailable Properties" section.
The reason I am not typing in the specific numbers is because I want them to be vertical and not horizontal - this saves me space on the drawing.
I've done this before, yet I cannot duplicate what I've done in the past and it's driving me insane.
how I can add multiple "blank" columns.

Apr 29, 2012I am finally getting time to do some organizational cleanup and management with our templates and vault settings. Many of the things are items that I am altering for each drawing/model I make and I would like to make them "stick" for the company standards. Things like altering font size in the styles library, adding part dimensions to the parameters for the parts list, and creating a new content central library where our part numbers are already populated for the parts list and the structural shapes have datum planes in the middle rather than just at beginning and end.

May 19, 2013I made a custom sprite for a game called MapleStory. I'm trying to use fonts over my pic but I can't see them.. and yeah. I don't think when I type the font it even adds the effect of the font it's supposed to.
