does using a grid set to foot vs Centimeter cause the computer to use more processing power?
I would believe it to do so because when building something to scale on the centimeter grid it is much smaller then building it on the foot size grid.
I found one motorycle drawing, but there is all dimensions in INCH. How can i change from INCH to centimeter to do this sketch in centimeter. I am never done this before, and I don't know.
If I change dimension in documents (Inventor) to draw in INCH, I cant put there like 3/15 and some little numbers.

I have a form with some textbox on it, which should be filled in with imperial dimension. Like foot and inch. Users right now complain about it is not user friendly ,to put data in form, and honestly they are right. I didn't a good job .
Some people like to put vetting in inch and then by the time textbox lost it focus it should automatically convert data to feet-inch format. Some other user like to put decimal I have to be able to should them in 1/8 inch.
some user like to use space as separator between foot and inch and some other like to use dash.
Bottom line I stocked. Is there any function for this in autocad ?
when I look at my code I just struggled with pure string. I thought maybe there is something in autocad which give developer this option. Like the way we input dimension in command prompt.
I just received a requested to create a "Salute to our Armed Forces" that is 20 foot by 8 foot (240"x96").
I think I remember somewhere seeing that Photoshop can do billboard sizes, but I can not figure how.
When I went in to select the image size the maximum width it would allow me to enter is 100 inches.

I have a character on a monocycle and what we did was constraining stuff to stuff which I didn't quite understand. Understanding it is not so important for now, it should work in the first place - but doesn't.
We
- pushed the pedals out of the monocycle structure in outliner
- constraintoint the foot to the pedal
- constraintoint the pedal to the wheel axis
- constraintrient the ankle joint to the pedal
- constraintoint the ikHandle to the pedal.
correct the list above if you feel there's a mistake.
Now that we've pushed the pedal out of its place in the monocycle structure, I don't know what to do with it. When i place it where it was before it won't work properly. Perhaps I have to do further steps but this is all I got in class yesterday.
I have created a pressure network using 8-inch diameter pipes. How would I change the 8-inch pipes to 6-inch pipes without having to recreate the network.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSomeone would like a small 1 inch by 1 inch logo for invoices at 600 DPI. However I understand that illustrator doesnt work in DPI or PPI since it's vector. Would I have to transfer the small image over to photoshop. I did try and save a 1 inch by 1 inch logo at 600 PPI, however when I saved the image it was no longer 1 inch by 1 inch. It had increased significantly in size regardless of what file format I saved the image as.

For example, if I select the Rectangle Tool, click in the art space and set the rectangle to one inch by one inch, I get a box that is 1.0003 by 1.0003

Even if I hold down shift to keep the preportions lock, it still happens.
I have check and nothing is snapping or set to snap.
This is a major issue for me as I use illustator for creating dielines and those dielines need to be very accurate.
I connected two pieces using merge vertex tool. And now i have difference in mesh (material). Line in center of model. How to remove it?

I've tried running as administrator/doing all sorts of compatibility things and resetting the user interface in Max. I've also tried changing various settings on my video card (power saving off and whatnot).
I'm running windows 7 64 bit, all drivers are up to date.
The standard unit conversion calculator (from Google) says that the 668 pixel = 17.7 cm. But this values are varying in the Adobe Illustration, i.e., 668 pixel = 23.56 cm.

I am unable to create a vector rectangle or to set a raster image layer to fit 3 x 4 cm. I intend to fill the 10 x 15 cm canvas with a plenty of 3 x 4 cm photos.
a) Considering a rectangle vector, I set it to 300 x 400 (width x height), but the size don't match 3 x 4 cm, since the ruler (preferences/units/ruler) is set to cm an it is clear the 300 x 400 vector is smaller than 3 x 4 cm. Then, how could I set vector size to millimeters or centimeters?
b) I paste an image as new layer in the 10 x 15 cm canvas. The pick tool allows just scale the image, but I would like to obtain more control over raster image size. So, similarly to the vector issue, how could I set raster size (layer image into bigger 10 x 15 cm canvas) to fit 3 x 4 cm exactly?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are collaborating in Revit. While working in a local file, everything seems to be moving along well. After a little while, if we try to save and/or synchronize with the central file, we get the error message; "square feet per foot." We then get another warning that says the file was not saved. We are unable to save of synchronize. The work-around we have come up with is to save as a new local file. This works for some time... saving and synchronizing without problem - but only for a while.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am battling is bringing in LiDAR files from ArcGIS. I have tried TXT and ASC, and they both seem to only maintain the elevation to the nearest foot, as you can see in the attached image.
What is strange, is that when the file is brought back into GIS, this issue is a problem. Is there a setting for reducing the amount of units when importing data? The text file as I shared has data to the thousandth.
Looking to see if any out there has a "Double Rolling Chain Link Fence Detail for opennings greater than 25 feet" who does not mind sharing. Although I have seen a double cantelever sliding gate of geater openning width, Of all my years in the building modelling field I had never seen a detail, or an actual gate for that matter. This is for a regular galvanized chain link fence construction. My search online has been fruitless.

I have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.
Revit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
Understanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.
