Photoshop :: Create A 20 Foot X 8 Foot Image Size
May 15, 2004I just received a requested to create a "Salute to our Armed Forces" that is 20 foot by 8 foot (240"x96").
I think I remember somewhere seeing that Photoshop can do billboard sizes, but I can not figure how.
When I went in to select the image size the maximum width it would allow me to enter is 100 inches.
how to create an image that size?

Sep 21, 2011I have had a problem with retrieved dimensions decimal precision. I set the precision to 1 decimal place in the ipt but when I retrive the dimension it set the precision to 3 decimal places. I then go to the precision control in the drawing and change it to 1 decimal place.
If I then go back to the ipt and edit the dim, the drawing precision then jumps back to 3 decimal places. (This is particular to the decimal precision for the tolerance of a dimension). How to sort this out?

Dec 28, 2011At our plant we try to place all the parts for an assembly on one drawing. i am now working on an assembly with most of the components being fabricated in the shop and using fractional dimensions. However there are a couple of parts that will be machined and should be dimensioned with decimals. When I select a dimension and attempt to alter it it changes the dimension style of the entire drawing. Is there a method of changing only the desired dimensions and not all of them? I could use dual dimensioning and maybe hide the undesired set but I don't know if that would work either.

Nov 3, 2011I need to show feet and meters in my drawing. I got them to show up, however the decimal is in the wrong spot. Instead of it being 1.8288 meters for 6 ft., it's showing as 1828.8. Everything I read says to 'just move the decimal'. But how do I do that without overriding the actual dimension?

For any dimensions I positioned on the object (like the width of the block centered in the block)...rather than above, below or off to the side. I am unable to select that dimension. Every time my cursor goes towards the dimension to select it.....the block itself is automatically selected. Any dimension outside the boundary of the object is fully selectable to edit.

When the modify dimensions box is open, the 'roundoff' menu gives me 1/16", 1/8" etc, even when DECIMAL is selected as the unit format.
This wasn't happening earlier, not sure what's going on. [in fact in a solved problem from earlier, a colleague found a drawing that had units set to millimeters, had its insertion scale set to inches! Different computer, so not related].

Aug 13, 2011I don't know whether I pressed something and switched off the dimensions display. When I started to use Autocad I could type in the dimensions of a box I wanted to draw and it would be highlighted in blue to let me know whether I was typing in dimensions for the height or the width of the box, but now I can't see it displayed. And when I click on line a previously drew it no longer shows what the dimension of that line anymore.

Jun 27, 2012I'm using Auto Architecture 2013 and the dimensions are always coming in on layer A-Anno-Dims; which is fine for plans. I also use dimensions for reflected ceiling plans as wells as other plan options. I want to set the dimension on the current layer, but no matter where I choose the command (ie command line, ribbon, toolbar, tool palette) it comes in on the same layer. Can I turn this option off? Is there a variable that I can chage?

Mar 28, 2011I'm adding wall type tags and moving dimension objects (leaders, mostly) around in a plan. Occasionally, maybe 2-3 times an hour, text objects and dimension objects suddenly cannot be moved. When I try to move them, they disappear, and upon Regen they reappear in their original position. AutoCAD does not crash- everything else is fine. I have to close and reopen the drawing to regain the ability to move text and dimension objects. Audit sometimes finds and corrects problems, sometimes not, but either way it seems to have no effect on the problem. My Autosave is set to 30 minutes- probably not a factor, but who knows.

Jan 4, 2013Everytime I select Mtext, specifically in a dimension, Autocad 2010 Arch automatically switches the highlighted (computed measurement) text to Arial before I've done anything. So everytime I have to edit a dimension Mtext, I have to reselect the computed dimension (<> / highlighted text), then select the correct text style again to get it back to the correct text style I'm using (FluxArch ttf). All of my text styles in the file have no association w/ Arial, and all the dimension styles rely on the text styles...so I'm stumped. Do I need to repair Autocad due to it Mtext editor being corrupted or something to get it to work properly again?

Oct 12, 2011I am using the 'Room tag with Dimensions' from the Content Browser. When it comes into the drawing, the room name is not centered above the rest of the tag text. So, I opened the block and moved the text and then saved the block. When I go to use the tag again - it tags everything - walls, doors, windows, etc...
Also, the drag and drop function does not work well - I have to drag a tool several times into the drawing from the content browser in order for it to work..

Aug 30, 2011I have a form with some textbox on it, which should be filled in with imperial dimension. Like foot and inch. Users right now complain about it is not user friendly ,to put data in form, and honestly they are right. I didn't a good job .
Some people like to put vetting in inch and then by the time textbox lost it focus it should automatically convert data to feet-inch format. Some other user like to put decimal I have to be able to should them in 1/8 inch.
some user like to use space as separator between foot and inch and some other like to use dash.
Bottom line I stocked. Is there any function for this in autocad ?
when I look at my code I just struggled with pure string. I thought maybe there is something in autocad which give developer this option. Like the way we input dimension in command prompt.

Aug 12, 2013I am battling is bringing in LiDAR files from ArcGIS. I have tried TXT and ASC, and they both seem to only maintain the elevation to the nearest foot, as you can see in the attached image.
What is strange, is that when the file is brought back into GIS, this issue is a problem. Is there a setting for reducing the amount of units when importing data? The text file as I shared has data to the thousandth.

Although I have seen a double cantelever sliding gate of geater openning width, Of all my years in the building modelling field I had never seen a detail, or an actual gate for that matter. This is for a regular galvanized chain link fence construction. My search online has been fruitless.

Revit :: Error While Collaborating / Square Feet Per Foot
Nov 1, 2012We are collaborating in Revit. While working in a local file, everything seems to be moving along well. After a little while, if we try to save and/or synchronize with the central file, we get the error message; "square feet per foot." We then get another warning that says the file was not saved. We are unable to save of synchronize. The work-around we have come up with is to save as a new local file. This works for some time... saving and synchronizing without problem - but only for a while.

I would believe it to do so because when building something to scale on the centimeter grid it is much smaller then building it on the foot size grid.
