View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had this happen to a few of my pictures recently:
I had already edited this picture and 30 minutes later suddenly this happened (the above is a re-import of the CR2 file). Photos that have had this happen have come from different cameras and different CF cards. I'm using LR4.3 on Win7.
I want to resize a photo within LR so the resulting file size is reduced? Is the only way to create an Export Preset?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am creating a photo book using LR 4.1 and BookSmart (so that I can design my own layouts which I can't do in the LR Book module). Everything is working fine except for resizing to fit BookSmart photo containers. In LR it appears that I can only resize to an aspect ratio and not to the actual pixels. For example, I have a custom size of 5.7 x 4, which LR crops to the aspect but retains a high pixel count (4798 x 3367 for example). The optimal size for the BookSmart container is 1710 x 1200 pixels. My understanding is the BookSmart downsamples the image to fit the pixel dimensions of its container. I have read that for best results you should have your photos in the optimal size to begin with, which avoids the downsampling. In LR I can't see any other way of doing this except in the Print module, which does not connect back to my collection in Publish Services. I am hoping to avoid having to edit each photo (over 400) in Photoshop just so that the size (dimensions and pixels) is optimal for the BookSmart photo containers. Am I missing something in LR that would allow me to set the size correctly for BookSmart?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to place a small square in front of multiple lines of text. I want to use it like a square that would be used as a checklist.
1. Where I can find a square in the Glyphs panel?'
2. If I create a square shape, and want to place it front of each line of text layed out in a text box, what is the best way to line the square on each line with each line of text?
When I click on an item with the direct tool I used to get a small square on each bounding box line which I could use to adjust the size of the object. Somehow it's gone away - how do I get it back?

Heres my process:
I type my text, select it and click on the "draw inside" button.
I then go to place and select my image.
The image comes tiny with dimensions of x- 430mm and y-340mm.
Obviously when i stretch it out to cover the text, the image becomes blurry. Whats happening here?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded the trial of Video Studio Pro X6 and am trying it out. I have a past background with Adobe Premiere and even VideoPad, so while I'm not new to video editing, X6 is a little different to me. My two main problems at present are sizing and capture.
I'm trying to figure out how to resize clips that are too small, or too large for that matter, to the mpeg2 standard of 720P (16:9) I usually use. When I put...say...a 640 x 480 clip or still on the timeline there seems to be no tool to change their sizes with (that I have found so far). There are 8 squares that sometimes show up on the image, which allow me to resize, but when finished and I go to do something else, the image just pops back to it's original size. So I must be missing something here.
The second main problem I'm presently having is capturing video...which the program won't do. At present, I am capturing analog video through a USB device. When I try to capture, I get an error message telling me that the capture plug-in is already in use, or is missing, or so on. I have discovered on the web that this problem is very common! Why? I have never had a video capture setup on this particular computer before, so there's nothing on it to interfere with X6. So should I assume that the capture plug-in is not included with the trial? Can this plug-in be downloaded by itself?
I'm trying to make an image 879X593 px into a banner about 950 x 130 px. Is this possible to do this in Photoshop without causing the image to stretch or distort the items inside it? Are there other options even in Fireworks?

I create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?
I want to know how to resize a photo without loosing quality....... in the image resize box the is a check box that says maintain file size ......what does that do .

i have multiple images that are not square and i need to make them square. i do not want to crop or loose any detail from the images.
how can i square up images without cropping. This is not a straight edge issue the pictures were taken of a square or rectangle objects but couldn't be taken square on.

I have a photo that I copied from an Power Point Presentation which looked great on Power Point but when I have it in PS I noticed that the image size is just 2.507x1.028 with a res. of 576. Pixel Dimensions are 2.45M
I would like to print out a larger version of this photo but I'm not having much luck with it. It gets blurry when I try to enlarge it.
It was on Power Point as PNG graphic and I saved it to the desktop as a Gif andthen dragged it into PS.
Don't know much about Power Point maybe there is a better way to transfer pics from it.
I changed to 6 x 4 resolution. I put the photo paper plus glosssy in my printer and printed it out but it's too small. What happen?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my website, especially when pictures are side by side, I try to make all the same, i.e. square. To me it looks better. I have a picture that is rectangle and obviously cannot resize to a square - distorts the picture. I know there is a way to copy the rectangle picture into a square picture frame which allows the picture to be square while not distorting the rectangle size.
But I don't know how to do this. I have watched a video on this but still not clear how to do it.
After cropping a photo in cs4 i have tried hitting the return key as well as edit/crop and then my photo disappears and the image box reduces in size to about 1 inch square with no image. I have expanded the image box but nil photo. This has never happened before.
I reloaded cs4 onto my computer but the problem still exists. I have also tried out opening the file from Bridge as well as Photoshop with the same result.
Why is the Transparency command window in the Clone Tool property bar so narrow? By comparison, the window for the Feather command next to it is twice the size. The reason for the moan is because my display is set to 110% as I like to see slightly larger text but I've had to go down to 100% because I can only see one complete digit in that tiny little window.
Is there any way to make it a touch wider so I can see two digits without a problem?
