Apr 29, 2013Is it possible to place text in individual slides in LR 4.4? If so, how? Currently have only been able to have text apply to all slides.

Apr 30, 2013I have created a couple of collections but when I go into slide show the images are not visible for creating a slide show. Works ok with some collections but not all. Presumably there is a linkage problem. Using v4.4 on a Mac.

Jun 20, 2011I want tthe text overlay in the slide show module to include the file caption. My captions are long and need two or more rows of text. The problem I have is that Lightroom will only display the caption text on a single line that runs well outside of the slide area. Even if I make the text small by grabbing the center point of the text box and make the height small, the text stays on a single line and extends outside the slide area. I am not able to grab a corner and drag the text box to a more square proportion forcing the text to break into multiple lines. As far as I can tell this is not possible.

I have a similar question about captions. In general I want to show the contents of the "caption" metadata, but for some slides that doesn't work well. Can I get more control over these things?
Lightroom :: How To View Only Select Images Out Of A Collection Of Digitized Slides
Dec 11, 2012I have not yet purchased adobe photo software. Which version is the simplest to accomplish what I want to do and is it simple? Or do I even need photo software. I have digitized my 50 years of slides. They are in large folders on the computer. Each folder is labelled only with a time period. Each image was corrected via MS Photo Gallery and then tagged or labelled with who or what, where and when.

How can I best send them out to the children to view on their computers but with a way for them to select and view only the ones they are interested in out of the thousands. Like " Diana" or "Grand Canyon 2010". We are 75 and not very computer literate yet. We have done this once now and want to take the next step to make it a user friendly resource for our kids and grandchildren

Mar 24, 2012I followed the tutorial linked below to successfully create cartoon text.
My Macbook was then updated to Lion and I checked I had the latest version of GIMP and have been trying all morning to create some more text in the same manner.
However no matter what I do when I select the layer that contains the single letter and I try to rotate it nothing happens?
If I do Alpha to Selection the selection rotates but then I cant do anything with it, stoke fill etc?
To clarify this is what I do:
Create a word
select a letter in the word
ctrl-x
ctrl-v
select new layer
name the new layer to match the letter just cut and pasted
ensure that layer is selected
choose rotate tool
....no rotation takes place?

I opened same file in my PDF writer and selected some text, copied to word and it copied as words not text entities.

In the interest of efficiency, any way I can rotate all the pieces of text at the same time whilst maintaining their individual position rather than selecting a base rotation point (as I have about 400 wire numbers to make my way through ).

Dec 11, 2012I just installed Illustrator CS6 trial. I have been on Illustrator 9 for years. I am used to clicking on the type tool, then clicking on the artboard and typing a single word. I am not using actual text boxes. When I do that in CS6 I cannot get a bounding box to show me how to resize it using the transform tool (arrow tool). I've gone to view>show bounding box, but it does not do anything.

Feb 14, 2013I have numerous text objects I want to rotate 180 while retaining each text objects insertion point. There's got to be an easy way to do this.
Long explanation: I created an annotation template to label pipe diameters on an imported shapefile. Everythings good, labels are parallel with lines, except for the fact that some labels are upside down. Is there an expression that would eliminate this? In my annotation template, my rotation expression equals the "angle" field of the object. My "quick and dirty" fix was to burst the annoation labels, and manually rotate necessary text, which wasn't a huge headache since I'm dealing with a relatively small number of labels, but in the future I might have hundreds of upside down labels.

Jul 30, 2012Modules take forever to load when LR4 is first started. I've asked this question before, and Adobe's response was something I'd expect from MicroSlop ("it's a feature, not a bug) - specifically, it takes upwards of 25 seconds for the Book module to load (system specs below). Adobe's response was that the individual modules don't load until you click on them. Blurb book quality - I've had a couple of friends, and numerous posts on the Blurb forums, complaining about the quality of their books. I did several with Aperture and had no issues. Adobe seems to be....no...they ARE extremely slow about issuing updates (3 months to get 4.1 out) and are dead silent in their blogs about

Aug 12, 2013I took photos with a DSLR some with a point and shoot, and a lot with my phone camera. DSLR photos are all good quality and when I export I want all of them to keep their original size, point and shoot photos should be reduced in size by about 20~40% depending on the crop I made and zoom when I shot. Phone pics need to be reduced by around 50% or more. One pixel size on export doesn't cut it since all photos are cropped and have various sizes but only some need reduced sizes due to phone camera taking bigger pictures than the quality keeps up with.I need some sort of 'export size for full sized jpeg' or something. (Without exporting each picture individually that is)

I would like to open individual pictures into Lr, but I am unsuccessful thus far.

I right-click on the picture and choose Open with Lr does not appear in the list of programs, so I click Choose Program.

I went to the Desktop and selected the Lr icon.

Now when I right-click on individual pictures, Lr appears as one of the available programs, but when I select it, the Lr Import dialog opens even though the image has been previously imported into Lr.

Is there any way to correct this so when I right-click on a picture and choose Lr, it opens into the Library or Develop module?

To make adjustments to individual points on the tone curve, choose an option from the Point Curve menu, click the Edit Point Curve button , and do any of the following:
Choose an option from the Channel pop-up menu. You can edit all three channels at once, or choose to edit the Red, Green, or Blue channel individually. When I click the little icon in the lower right corner of the Tone Curve panel, the panel shrinks so that I don't see the Regions sliders. If I click again, they are visible again. I can't find where to select one of the three indvidual channels.

May 13, 2009I have a Plustek OpticFilm 7300 slide scanner. Here's what I want to do: - Create a 4:3 (fixed ratio) frame that I can use to crop the slides. To my knowledge, all of my pictures will benefit from some selective cropping.- Remove dirt specs and lint squiggles from the JPG through software. - Scan slides to JPG, 640x480 pixels, high quality [HQ] (200 - 300 KB/picture).I believe this can all be done entirely within Photoshop, but I haven't been successful in figuring out how. Can anyone briefly tell me the steps needed? Note that I do have other tools (SilverFast, PageManager, VueScan, Irfanview, etc.) which will do all the above, but I've been using these tools and the results have been poor. I've been reading for years now that Photoshop excels in all forms of digital photo processing, so I'd like to learn how do do the task using only CS4! Assuming I get good results, I'll buy the program before my 30-day trial ends (28 days from now) This is an example of the type of slide I'm processing. This picture was taken 42 years ago in Vietnam and was not touched up with software.
