Lightroom :: Slides To Deviate From The Standard Duration
Nov 4, 2013
I'm creating a slideshow in which I want some slides to deviate from the standard duration I've set for the show.  I can't see how to do this. Is it possible?
Â
I have a similar question about captions. In general I want to show the contents of the "caption" metadata, but for some slides that doesn't work well. Can I get more control over these things?
I have created a couple of collections but when I go into slide show the images are not visible for creating a slide show. Works ok with some collections but not all. Presumably there is a linkage problem. Using v4.4 on a Mac.
I used to use LR 3 & 4 to build my time lapse movies using a slide duration of .1 seconds per, now in LR5 the minimum slide duration is a full second?Â
I have not yet purchased adobe photo software. Which version is the simplest to accomplish what I want to do and is it simple? Or do I even need photo software. I have digitized my 50 years of slides. They are in large folders on the computer. Each folder is labelled only with a time period. Each image was corrected via MS Photo Gallery and then tagged or labelled with who or what, where and when.  How can I best send them out to the children to view on their computers but with a way for them to select and view only the ones they are interested in out of the thousands. Like " Diana" or "Grand Canyon 2010". We are 75 and not very computer literate yet. We have done this once now and want to take the next step to make it a user friendly resource for our kids and grandchildren
I cant make the music duration slider in the slideshow go to 3.7. I can only get it to go between 3.6 & 3.8 Can this be done. Fit to Music does not work for slideshow. Music ends before pictures
Trying to make a slideshow in LR4, however I can't seem to change the duration on individual photos. i can set the speed for the slideshow, but this speed is globalized to all photos. Can I change this so that I can change duration of individual photos?
LR 5.3 ask every time which catalog should be used. I select standard and all work fine. I select the catalog also at LR 5.3 Settings but if I quit LR and start again, LR ask the catalog question again.
I have a standard watermark for all the photos I import. Recently I importred wedding photos, that I want to give a copy to the couple without the watermark. How do I eliminate the watermark short of doing it indivdually? Is there a way to retract the watermark on a folder of photos?
I have recently started attending a photographic club and want to start showing off my prints in competitions. To do so I have to mount them in a card border. Â When I do this I loose part of the image because i need about 20mm all the way round to mount. A solution is to create a border which I can apply to all images. I do this at the moment in PS CS5 manually. Â Is there an automated way to do this in LR3 via the presets so that a standard 20mm border is applied to any image irrelevant of size or orientation
In the Adobe_variables_table in my LR5 catalog, the AgPreviewBuilder_standard size is 1440, as set in my prefs. But further down in the table, the SynchroniseFolder_StandardPreviewSize is 1680 (the default value?).
Is there some way to save a standard set of metadata (photographer name, copyright status, website, other unchanging stuff) that I could apply to new/old sets of photos?
I have a Plustek OpticFilm 7300 slide scanner. Here's what I want to do: - Create a 4:3 (fixed ratio) frame that I can use to crop the slides. To my knowledge, all of my pictures will benefit from some selective cropping.- Remove dirt specs and lint squiggles from the JPG through software. - Scan slides to JPG, 640x480 pixels, high quality [HQ] (200 - 300 KB/picture).I believe this can all be done entirely within Photoshop, but I haven't been successful in figuring out how. Can anyone briefly tell me the steps needed? Note that I do have other tools (SilverFast, PageManager, VueScan, Irfanview, etc.) which will do all the above, but I've been using these tools and the results have been poor. I've been reading for years now that Photoshop excels in all forms of digital photo processing, so I'd like to learn how do do the task using only CS4! Assuming I get good results, I'll buy the program before my 30-day trial ends (28 days from now) This is an example of the type of slide I'm processing. This picture was taken 42 years ago in Vietnam and was not touched up with software.
I have been using LR since it has been released in version one. I have a very modest system, Win 7 64 bit Home premium, Processor 6.6 GHz; Memory 4GB; Displaty 1680x1050.Test on export of 101 raw files from Panasonic G3Â Lightroom time for rendering 15 Min approx 9 seconds per file.Export from After Shot Pro Approx 3 Min 1.87 sec per file. Both systems using only standard processing functions no Lens corrections, adjustment brush etc. just standard corrections.Just unbeliavable. I did not think I have an issue with the performance of Lghtroom but this is a revelation. I have no hangups or crashes etc.
I'm using Nikon D610 and I shoot in RAW files. However, when I import my files using Lightroom and when I wanted to change the camera profile under the camera calibration tab, I could only find those profiles of Adobe standard, camera standard etc. What should I do so that I could choose the profile for Nikon D610 standard etc...?
I understood that Lightroom does not use smart previews as previews in most cases and still uses previews as before for working on. I normally import as standard previews because this improves speed whilst working on them. I have just ticked the smart preview box for a couple of files that I thought I might want to work on after transferring them to my externsl drive and it crashed when set with standard, OK with minimal, I am now wondering if in fact the smart previews are the previews it works on and that by setting it to standard as well it has confused the program and that is why it crashed, but then why have the option of both or is it simply a computer resources issue trying to create both standard and smart previews.
See the below text box, which I frequently use to retrieve lists of requested photos. This box does not comport to industry standards. When you click on it, the last whole word erroneously becomes highlighted --I expect the cursor to be positioned at the pointer so that I can add or insert text. Instead my first keystroke erases the last entry! Additionally, the undo/redo keys (ctrl Z/Y) are non-functional. Applies to at least the last few versions.
I'm having some problems with drawing paths in Illustrator. Everytime I draw a new path, this new path shows up in the standard settings. The 'brush defenition' turns back to 'basic' and the 'variable width profile' back to 'uniform'. It would save me a lot of time if I could change those standard settings into what I prefer.
Is there a way to make the pop-up window that comes up when you delete a photo have "delete from disk" be the standard option highlighted in blue instead of "Remove"? Â Or a way to use the keyboard to move the selected option? I know about the keyboard shortcut, Alt Ctrl Shift Delete, just wondering if there is a way to mess with the pop-up window selection. I have LR4 on a mac.
I am wanting to make a grip that slides along a polyline. Similar to the diamond shaped grips used in Civil3d to slide along alignments and pipe objects to pick stations and insert labels. How this can be done in .net.
I am using photoshop elements 5 to make a slide show. After previewing it there were many RANDOM slides where the picture was no longer there, just a COMPLETELY BLACK SLIDE. How do I recover these? I cannot possibly remember which pictures were in all of the spots.
I am batch scanning 35mm slides 15 at a time using an Epson 1680. I have been playing with the various dpi's and scale to find the best settings so I can cut the slides and paste them into Powerpoint for a lecture. What I have been finding is that when I cut the slide from the scanned image (of 15 in the holder) and place it in my powerpoint slide and then enlarge it, it is too blurry.
I have tried enlarging the dpi to 2400 but the computer won't scan it. I seem to get OK images in powerpoint at 90dpi and 800% scale but I really want them sharper.
How can I do this? Is it best to scan the slides individually and not use the holder?
More importantly, although the slides look OK on my laptop how will they look when they are projected onto the big screen. I do't want them to be too blurry.
I am trying to animate a couple slides in to show their motion. I setup each different position in a positional rep in my iam. They work correctly. Next I went to Studio and created an animation that went from one PR to the next. I am using the sequence like PR "A" to "B", then PR "B" to "C", then PR "C" to "D".
The trouble is in studio it does not work like it does in the assembly. Watch both videos to see what I mean. It is difficult to explain without being lengthy.
The video shown here is what I am trying to show in Studio. See the reply to this message to see my clip taken from Studio.
I have had a problem occur in the past few slideshows I have tried to produce in Photoshop Elements 10. When I try to export to Premiere Elements or Windows DVD Maker to burn, some slides show up as blanks. I have also had a problem with some musical selections not playing.Â
