Lightroom :: Rating Individual Images When Multiple Images Selected
Jul 18, 2012In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

Jul 24, 2013I have a small part time business doing all kinds of image editing. I get most of my work on a particular site that facilitates the meeting of clients and freelancers
I just recently was awarded a job and accepted the job. Right AFTER that, there was from the client an "Oh yeah, there's just one more thing I need done", (happens ALL THE TIME).
The job was to edit an ultrasound of a fetus and incorporate the image into an invitation to a baby shower. OK, no problem, right?
The "Oh yeah, I've got one more thing", was that she wanted me to put two places where the mother was registered for gifts and she wanted both of these places to be an active, clickable hyperlink.
I've done a small amount of research and read a few ideas about "slicing" but all the tutorials appear to be speaking about doing this to an image on a website, which isn't what I need. I need to create a freestanding image, one that could be attached and or inserted into an email to someone and one that you would be able to click on the text of an URL and it would be an active hypelink that would take you to the store's website.
1. Is this even a possibility?
2. If so, is it something that can be done ONLY with CS5 or would I need other software to accommplish this?
remember, this is NOT to be part of a website, it needs to be a freestanding image that can be emailed and that has an active, working, hyperlink as part of the image.

Mar 28, 2009I have 3020 (three thousand and twenty) individual .jpg files that are 72x90 pixels each, and the images have borders. I would like to make this lot of images arranged into a hi-res wallpaper (my current resolution is 1680x1050, but I would like it a little larger for possible future larger resolutions), without gaps, placed starting horizontally in alphabetical order.
This might seem like an odd request, but I'm stumped on how to do it. I wouldn't mind if someone did this arrangement for me, but I would also like to know how to perform it myself, as I would like to do it again in the near future.
I have CS3.
GIMP :: Break Up Political Map Into Individual Images
Sep 18, 2011I have an image of political boundary map that I want to break up so that I have an individual image for each unit, such that I could combine them back together and get the original map. For purpose of illustration, let's say it's a US state map.
I know that I could take the original image, erase everything but Washington State to alpha, save that as Washington, then undo back to the beginning, erase everything but Oregon to alpha, save that as Oregon, undo, etc, until I had all 50 states, all in the same position as on the original map. I could then easily create images of arbitrary groups of states by just combining the images of the individual states I wanted to be in the group.
But getting to that point would take 50 manual erasing for a state map, and many more on my actual map. Is there a way to break up the map in an automated way?
The map image has the boundary all in one color that isn't otherwise present in the image, so it's easy enough to select just the boundary .
GIMP :: How To Separate 4 Layers Into Individual Images
Aug 3, 2012I'm new to GIMP. I want to use it to create/test colour (or greyscale) separations for a woodcut, but I'm finding it hard.
For example I have attached a black and white image. kirsty.JPG (84.7K)

I open the image in GIMP, then from Image I choose mode - indexed, 4 colours. So far so good as this gives me the 4 greyscale levels I need to create a two block woodcut. Now I use the 'select by colour' tool to find the first colour, and I paste this into a new layer. That works fine. Then I select the next colour and try to paste that into a second new layer, but it doesn't work. It produces another layer called 'Floating Selection (pasted layer)' and won't paste the second or third layers.
How can I separate the 4 layers into individual images??
Photoshop :: Photomerge - Parts Of Individual Images Erased
Jun 22, 2012We have recently installed Photoshop cs6 on two Mac Pros. On one of them, Photo merge is erasing parts of the individual images while stitching. The part of the original image that is covered by masking, is also erased when the mask is disabled. The merged image generally comes out fine, however, this problem can make it much more troublesome if one needs to adjust the combined image.
On the second Mac, Photo merge works the way that it seems to work in all examples I´ve found online - the individual images retain all their pixels under the mask.
The method we´re using is Layout: Auto, with "blend images together" as the only checked box.

I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime. Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way.

Nov 6, 2013I'm presently making assets for an ipad app in illustrator i create all the layers as indidvidual assets then export as a layered psd...i've found that when i open this in photoshop some of the assets are 1 pixel out....which is an issue(for our developer) when you are making ipad retina assets and convert these to non-retina which are half the size.
Any way of mananging this so I deliver even number pixel(on the x axis) assets so they are easily halfed - which in turn doesn't create more work for our developer.
i'm using cs6 suite. my preference is to create the assets in illustrator rather than photoshop

Apr 24, 2013the only property I can actually define for each individual sheet (for use in iLogic, text fields, etc.) is the sheet name. This is extremely limiting. Each sheet in my drawings has several properties of its own--sheet number (most importantly), what part is ON the sheet, the designer, the revision, etc. I would love to be able to use each of these in labels on the sheet, for example, a text box with "<Sheet #> - <Part> (<Designer>)". The only possible way I could do something like this is to use the sheet number as the Sheet Name, and then use that value in the sheet's text labels, headings, and title block. However, I want to be able to use descriptive names for the Sheet Name, plus that's just one property.
Is there any way I can create and define multiple custom properties for individual sheets? I was exploring the idea of using iLogic, using the ActiveSheet command, possibly, and "tricking" inventor into creating properties for a given sheet.

Jul 30, 2012Modules take forever to load when LR4 is first started. I've asked this question before, and Adobe's response was something I'd expect from MicroSlop ("it's a feature, not a bug) - specifically, it takes upwards of 25 seconds for the Book module to load (system specs below). Adobe's response was that the individual modules don't load until you click on them. Blurb book quality - I've had a couple of friends, and numerous posts on the Blurb forums, complaining about the quality of their books. I did several with Aperture and had no issues. Adobe seems to be....no...they ARE extremely slow about issuing updates (3 months to get 4.1 out) and are dead silent in their blogs about
