Lightroom :: Moving Individual Files Within LR4?
Apr 22, 2012I am trying to move individual files from one folder to another within lightroom, but seem unable to do so or figure out how.
I don't want to move an entire folder, as there are only 2 pictures that I need to move,
As a side note, I'm using Windows and I've tried to click and drag, right click etc.
AutoCad :: How To Attach Number Of TIFF Files To Individual DWG Files
Oct 30, 2013I am trying to attach a number of tiff files to individual dwg files. There are about 300 so I am writting a script that will open a new dwg, insert the tiff and save the dwg at a given name, so i have filedia set to 0 and everything is user input.
The problem I am having is that when I use the iinsert command and enter the path for the tiff I get this error: (filename)was not found or is not valid. This is pathed to a network drive. When I copy the same folder to my c: drive and run the command everything works as should. is there any reason for this?
When pathed to the c: drive and working correctly it looks like this:
C:UsershbrittDesktop11301 DCS Migration Phase 2 Execute Engineering Detail DesignDRAWINGSWORKING SETLOOPSDEMOD70-B-F101.TIF
When pathed to the network it looks like this:

I get this error:
G:EngineeringCURRENT JOBSMOTIVA11301 DCS Migration Phase 2 Execute Engineering Detail DesignDRAWINGSWORKING SETLOOPSDEMOD70 was not found or is not valid.
I noticed in the error message it cuts the end of the file name off. Is there a character limit?
I have done this before with a path to the network and everything worked as should. We have recently upgrade to 2013 but i would'nt think that would be an issue.
So basically, file on local drive everything inserts fine. File on network, get error.
GIMP :: Make Logo Consisting Of Bunch Of Simple Shapes Which Are All Individual Layers
Sep 2, 2013I'm trying to make a logo consisting of a bunch of simple shapes which are all individual layers. All of these layers are on top of a transparent canvas. I'm not sure if canvas is the right word, but basically what I mean is that I launched GIMP and made a new image that's 512x512 filled with transparency, and by default that became a layer titled background which I consider to be the canvas of my entire Image.
I can't seem to draw on new layers anymore. I've been trying to make new layers filled with transparency and draw on them with the free select tool, ensuring that the opacity is not 0 and that the layer is selected, but its drawing on the background layer rather than the layer I made to draw on. So now when I try to adjust the position of the layer, the shape I drew stays in the same spot because its not part of the layer.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Can't Make Individual Parts Adaptive To Multiple Assemblies Without Saving Each Part
May 4, 2013 We use a similar sub-assembly in almost every assembly we design. So what I would like to do is make a template from this sub-assembly that I can make adaptive, constrain to the proper parts and have it resize to the main assembly. I've been trying to do this for a few weeks now with little success.
I have seen tutorials make adaptive part templates but never adaptive assembly templates. Is this even possible?
I know you can't make individual parts adaptive to multiple assemblies without saving each part as a different file and I think that's where my problems are coming from. Even though I save the template as a different file is it still referencing the original adaptive part in my library folder? If so, is there a way I can make it not do that? I may be way off base there too I don’t know.
Illustrator :: How To Make Separate PDF Files Instead Of One Multipage File
Nov 27, 2012Every day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files. Is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name. If there was a way to automate that?
Paint.NET :: Saving Layers As Individual Files?
Feb 11, 2009I recently made some frames for an animate gif with PDN, and all the frames are in layers on one PDN file. Is there any way to mass save the layers as separate gifs? The PDN file consists of 100+ layers, and I want to avoid flattening, saving, and undoing X 100 :shock:

Feb 26, 2013I've been using the batch file - export layers to file script for some time. Right now I'm trying to figure out an easy way to have a locked background and do the same thing, but keep the background the same.
Background - Layer 1 - Save
Background - Layer 2 - Save
etc.
Is there a way to do this? I have around 300 images that need the exact same background.

Right now I typically plot to Adobe PDF, extents/center to plot/fit to paper/monochrome.
Upon doing a search, someone mentioned "AutoPublish" upon closing. Is this an option, and if so, is it my only option?

Sep 26, 2013I'm going to work on a composition that will include made different photos. I'm not sure how it will be printed, CMYK or RGB. Without know for sure:
1. Should each individual photo file be set to RGB or CMYK?
2. How much of an affect will it have on the quality of an image if it is changed from RGB to CMYK or the other way around after it has been worked on?
3. I need to request photos from others to be included in this piece. Does the physical size of each photo matter as long as the photos are 150 or 200dpi? Should I request specific sizes or just photos with specific resolutions?

Lightroom :: Make File Backups While Shooting Tethered?
Oct 4, 2013I agree with others who have posted that LR needs to add the option of copying files to an external drive whens shooting tethered.
I use NIkon and the camera does not keep a copy in the camera when shooting tethered in LR.
Just makes so much obvious sense for LR to have a save as a copy option as files are brought in during tethered shooting. Why hasn't Adobe implemented this? It's been requested since LR 3, I believe.
Lightroom :: Individual Modules Don't Load Until Click On Them
Jul 30, 2012Modules take forever to load when LR4 is first started. I've asked this question before, and Adobe's response was something I'd expect from MicroSlop ("it's a feature, not a bug) - specifically, it takes upwards of 25 seconds for the Book module to load (system specs below). Adobe's response was that the individual modules don't load until you click on them. Blurb book quality - I've had a couple of friends, and numerous posts on the Blurb forums, complaining about the quality of their books. I did several with Aperture and had no issues. Adobe seems to be....no...they ARE extremely slow about issuing updates (3 months to get 4.1 out) and are dead silent in their blogs about

Aug 12, 2013I took photos with a DSLR some with a point and shoot, and a lot with my phone camera. DSLR photos are all good quality and when I export I want all of them to keep their original size, point and shoot photos should be reduced in size by about 20~40% depending on the crop I made and zoom when I shot. Phone pics need to be reduced by around 50% or more. One pixel size on export doesn't cut it since all photos are cropped and have various sizes but only some need reduced sizes due to phone camera taking bigger pictures than the quality keeps up with.I need some sort of 'export size for full sized jpeg' or something. (Without exporting each picture individually that is)

Everything is updated and the pictures in question have been successfully imported into Lr.
I would like to open individual pictures into Lr, but I am unsuccessful thus far.
I right-click on the picture and choose Open with Lr does not appear in the list of programs, so I click Choose Program.
I went to the Desktop and selected the Lr icon.
Now when I right-click on individual pictures, Lr appears as one of the available programs, but when I select it, the Lr Import dialog opens even though the image has been previously imported into Lr.
Is there any way to correct this so when I right-click on a picture and choose Lr, it opens into the Library or Develop module?

Jan 16, 2013After reviewing many similar topics, I am still at a loss here. We are finding that the settings for using shift to deselect items seem to be changing within individual drawing files.
I open 2 drawing files. In one, the shift/deselect works fine, but in the other is does not deselect anything...
Further - within the non-working drawing file, the option to activate 2 hotpoints on a line and then stretch that line no longer works either.
Like everyone dealing with these shift/select/deselect issues, we are wasting an extreme amount of time trying to resolve issues that never seemed to be issues with past versions.
Lightroom :: Watermarked Images - Can't Make With Small File Size?
Jun 27, 2013I love LRs ability to create great watermarks. Only thing, they seem to come out (from DNGs) at about 3 mb apiece (quality setting at 79) - super large. So I clicked the box to limit file size, and I chose 300k (for web), and it says "could not create a jpeg that met your limit".

Jun 2, 2012how to adjust the curve of individual RGB channels. I am assuming the LR4 Tone Curve works like the PS Curves dialog with the channel dropdown.
To make adjustments to individual points on the tone curve, choose an option from the Point Curve menu, click the Edit Point Curve button , and do any of the following:
Choose an option from the Channel pop-up menu. You can edit all three channels at once, or choose to edit the Red, Green, or Blue channel individually. When I click the little icon in the lower right corner of the Tone Curve panel, the panel shrinks so that I don't see the Regions sliders. If I click again, they are visible again. I can't find where to select one of the three indvidual channels.
The Help refers to "the Point Curve menu." Where is the Point Curve menu? Is the Point Curve different from the Tone Curve?
If I right-click (Windows) in the curve dialog, the context menu has a Show Info option. I click it on/off and don't see any change or any info. Where should I be looking for info?

I tried selecting a roof polygon and making a copy and editing it but still when I apply materials to this polygon they apply to all of the dimensional lumber. Probably because I made a copy as a clone but it didn't give me the "copy" option.

Sep 11, 2012I have been trying to export some files (all morning - note my frustration) to a new stock agency, but when I do a File>Export my Lightroom 4 generated Keywords are not in the files. I have tried to problem solve this on my own and looked online but I am having no luck at all. I am not very savy with all of this keywording protocol to start with. I am sure it is something simple like a box that needs to be checked or unchecked.
