I have done but I am using lightroom 1.4. Previously, any pictures I edited would show as an edited file in the library now all that happens is the original image shows as the edited image.
View 2 RepliesI was wondering if it was possible to set a setting in Lightroom such that when looking through my images in the Library module, I only see the final edited image. For example, if I send the image to Photoshop to do any retouches, it creates a copy of the file. When I save the file in Photoshop, I then have two images in the Library module. However, I would like to keep all the history, but when browsing through my images I would only like to see the final image.

However, I can't seem to find the edited un-watermarked images in the Library, ony the original unedited RAW files and the watermarked web files. I need the edited files prior to my exporting them as watermarked web files.

I used to be able to do something like effect->3d-> revolve, then go to the actions panel and bring up the 3D revolve, click on it and edit it again. Now, when I open the actions panel the simple 3d revolve is replace with a long long list of actions of course I can't bring up the 3d revolve effect and edit it.
I have removed all of the Illustrator prefs in my library file; but, it still does it.
I am currently using Lightroom 4.4
Recently I have been asked for certain images taken in 2011.
When searching for them I have discovered that the original capture information has been "gone missing / become lost".
For clarity, the information I'm referring to is the ACTUAL capture date and time of the original image as appears in the raw file metadata.
This data no longer appears on ANY of the subsequent version of any image taken in that year whether PSD or Jpeg.From checks already carried out, the data remains on the original RAW files.
All other years are OK.How can I transfer the date & time of the original image capture from the raw file to subsequents copies (PSD / Jpegs etc)? As literally hundreds of images are involved, is there a bulk routine that I can perform to synchronise this data?
is there a way to preview images on what they look like without having to drag the asset out onto the stage? If I have even two or three versions of a file imported into my library, I constantly need to leave the program to check which is which.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

I am still learning LR but if they sent me the catalog file (lrcat) would that allow me to "zero" out all the edits they did to the files I have or would they still have to send me the originals?

View 3 Replies View RelatedExporting files to hard disk with the original item set for file type. dng file shows up on the exported directory as the cropped / edited photo and there is no sidecar file.
When I click on the history panel for this export panel, it brings the photo up in the non cropped version just as I would wish.
I did do an unclick on "embed fast load data" in preferences and then an update dng preview as the fix for the banding problems when viewing dng files in irfanview and picassa and that worked, but hope it did not create my problem described above.
I have many files which I created by making a copy of the original and editing it. I have the original file with no edit history. The copy which shows the results of the editing is marked as a missing file and the edit history is greyed out. Both file share the same name with the exception that one is a copy. Is there any way to re-link these files? When I try to search for the missing file and point to the original, it tells me that the file is already linked to a file and can't be linked to a second file.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I edit photos in an external editor, my photo is moved from its original location in the folder, to a different one. The photo stays within the same folder but is moved to a new location within it. This is really annoying as I have a couple thousand photos from a trip to Europe I have been going through, and after my external editor closes and I am returned to LR, I have to find the photo which has been moved to some random spot so I can put it back to where it originally was. I want to keep my photos organized by location, so it really sucks when my photos from Turkey end up with my photos from Hungary. How I can stop this???

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I think would be useful to have is the ability to add visual annotations to the images and the ability to label the spot adjustments (sky adjustment, face dodge, tree sharpness, etc). When something has a lot of dodging and burning or simply brushes that control spot saturation, moire, sharpness, etc it's difficult to know which little circle to click on when there are more than 3 or 4. This is especially useful when image has been worked on a few weeks prior. Being able to make visual notes to self on top of the image is useful if something comes to mind for the next next time I have time to work on the image.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to create a new calander for 2014, so I created a new catalog and started to import 25 images which were in my library in various folders. once I was done with the selections I could see that there are several catalogs set up from each folder of origin. if I click on library to get out of the "catalog" mode nothing happens. I can no longer see any of my library folders on the left panel, unless I try to import more images.
How do I delete or cancel this request to add a catalog and get back to my original library? also, in hind sight, I believe I wanted to add a "collection". please confirm the difference between a collection, smart collection and a catalog.
For some reason Library has disappeared from the top of screen so I must go to window to change from develope to library. I want library back to eliminate this step. I have tried updating and it did not bring it back.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI opened up my AutoCAD LT 2010 this morning at work and went to work on an existing file only to notice I have lost the ability to type in measurements. Meaning, when I go to draw a line I don't have that option to just type in 2.00 or whatever measurement I need. Same with drawing a rectangle or fillet; the down arrow prompt has dissappeared and I no longer can specify length by width (or radius/dia with fillet). Did I accidently hit something to cause this to dissappear?

Just before this happened, I had blown up a drawing by, apparently, importing one too many iges files. Got a message that Autocad had an error and was shutting down. Now, when I hit file/open, I get nothing but the command line asking me to enter the drawing path.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMaybe it's because I have a mind-dulling headache today, but I'm just not seeing the way to either create an inverted vector mask or invert an existing one.
For example, in the following layer stack, I'd like the vector mask on the group to create a transparent hole in the image, rather than make the outer part of the image transparent. Note that the [Invert] button in the Properties panel is unavailable (grayed-out).
If I could have created the vector mask in the first place using the rectangle tool, but inverted, that would have been okay as well, but somehow the sequence to do that escaped me as well. I know how to do this with a selection, but I'd rather keep it in vector land.
