AutoCad 2D :: Lost Text Editing Ability
Jul 13, 2011I'm on Autocad 2008.I can not edit an existing MTEXT text when I double click it. Is there a commond that needs to be turned on or off?

Jul 9, 2012I have lost the ability to free scale objects/text boxes etc. in Illustrator CS5. I have to use the scale tool every time I need to adjust the size of something and it is not a sustainable technique in terms of time/productivity/function.

Jul 24, 2013I opened up my AutoCAD LT 2010 this morning at work and went to work on an existing file only to notice I have lost the ability to type in measurements. Meaning, when I go to draw a line I don't have that option to just type in 2.00 or whatever measurement I need. Same with drawing a rectangle or fillet; the down arrow prompt has dissappeared and I no longer can specify length by width (or radius/dia with fillet). Did I accidently hit something to cause this to dissappear?

Just before this happened, I had blown up a drawing by, apparently, importing one too many iges files. Got a message that Autocad had an error and was shutting down. Now, when I hit file/open, I get nothing but the command line asking me to enter the drawing path.

Sep 7, 2013I have lost the ability to see my layers. I created an image and when I open it, I can see by the text displayed at the top of the image that it has five layers. However, when I click "Open the Layers Dialog", the five layers don't show. Perhaps I've locked it somehow? It was saved as a .xcf. Am very new to GIMP.

Aug 24, 2012Maybe it's because I have a mind-dulling headache today, but I'm just not seeing the way to either create an inverted vector mask or invert an existing one.
For example, in the following layer stack, I'd like the vector mask on the group to create a transparent hole in the image, rather than make the outer part of the image transparent. Note that the [Invert] button in the Properties panel is unavailable (grayed-out).
If I could have created the vector mask in the first place using the rectangle tool, but inverted, that would have been okay as well, but somehow the sequence to do that escaped me as well. I know how to do this with a selection, but I'd rather keep it in vector land.

Aug 29, 2011Capturing sd dv from a sony handycam using VS9 and a USB conection to pc. Few days ago all seemed to be ok was able to capture at 640x480 (I think) but now for some reason information section is showing 320x240 with a corresponding really poor quality preview. No matter what changes I try to make in the capture options or project properties etc it will not now allow me to capture at a higher quality. The options menus don't even show a higher quality available than 320x240. Tried at both AVI and Mpeg format capture settings but no change.

May 31, 2012I've just updated and now when I export a pdf, and lines with arrow heads just export the lines - ie no arrowheads present! This is particularly annoying as I'm in the middle of jobs and clients are coming back to me with "where are the arrows!"

I used to be able to do something like effect->3d-> revolve, then go to the actions panel and bring up the 3D revolve, click on it and edit it again. Now, when I open the actions panel the simple 3d revolve is replace with a long long list of actions of course I can't bring up the 3d revolve effect and edit it.
I have removed all of the Illustrator prefs in my library file; but, it still does it.

Mar 23, 2014It was working before. Now I can't insert any audio at all. I even tried using some of the video clips that I have already extracted audio from and they no longer work. When I have it up in the source box I can play it and the aeudio is there. But if I ovrwrite the clip or drag the clip it adds the video only with no audio. Even if I try to drag just the audio it won't allow me to put it in any ofc the audio trays. Did I acidentally push a button and turn iaudio off. How do I fix this?

Mar 3, 2014All of the sudden I can't create a customer profile when creating a new document. Earlier I selecting the print profile. I tried opening a new document and creating a custom profile but that option is grayed out.
I created custom brushes yesterday but they don't appear today. Is that because of the profile that the brushes were created with and without that profile I won't see the brushes?

Lightroom :: Changes Lost After Editing

Yesterday, I opened a catalog and edited a couple hundred images. I applied a preset at import, made a variety of changes, cropped, applied color labels, and the Pick flag. When I was done, last evening, I closed down Lightroom normally, as I do every day.
I did NOT write all my changes to the files on disk, which I normally do at the end of editing, but not ALWAYS...
This morning, I started Lightroom, opened the same catalog, and NONE of my changes from yesterday were preserved. Nothing crashed, nothing closed abnormally, NOTHING unusual happened before, during, or after yesterday's editing. I closed Lightroom and rebooted the system. Reopened, no difference.
I went to the catalog partition and looked in the previews folders. There are MANY previews/files that show changes from yesterday, but in Lightroom I have NONE of what was done... White balance is back to "as shot", ALL the basic, detail, and other changes in develop aren't present, no Pick flags, no color labels, no NOTHING... In the preview files, there are only 45 files changed with today's date (I haven't touched anything, yet), but there are 1104 files changed yesterday, so there are changes in there, but they're NOT showing up in Lightroom.
how I can get the changes to show in LR again?
I'm going to have to go back through and redo all the changes because I don't have time to wait, but is there some way to FORCE Lightroom to read the catalog and previews and put the changes back? Or some other way to recover the changes (I'm presuming the changes actually ARE in the previews)...
Photoshop :: After Editing Lost Original Photo In LR4?
Jul 28, 2013I was under the impression that editing in PS from LR4 meant my original in LR4 was safe (ie: that after editing in PS, both the PS editied photo and the LR4 original would be side by side when LR4 was opened up)
However, my first foray into PS was earlier today, when I double-processed an image as instructed by Scott Kelby's book (the Adobe Photoshop CS6 book - page 52). The book covers PS (not Lightroom) and camera raw, but I thought that anything edited in PS and/or camera raw would leave my original untouched. Following Scott Kelby's instructions, I did some editing in LR4, then opened in PS as a smart object, then opened a 'New Smart Object via Copy' which I did further edits on, but this time in Camera Raw.
I now had 2 versions of the photo in PS. I then did a layer mask for the foreground object, and darkened the background of the sky etc behind it, so a sort of HDR with the 2 photos. I then followed his instructions to 'Flatten Image', and then to do a levels adjustment to brighten image.
Still following the instructions, to make the image more vibrant, I went to Mode, Lab Color, Apply Image. I chose the 'a' chanel, blending mode, then switched back to RGB Color
It didn't actually say to save file, but I just did a 'File Save in PS. The only photo in LR4 was now the PS edited one. I went to before/after comparison, but just had the finished photo with Lab Color adjustments as after photo, and before photo was the combined 2 photos after editing / layer masking, but no sign of my original.
I have been reading that you should 'copy' the original in PS, but have also read that this is not necessary if you have Lightroom, So I'm confused by this. This was the first time the book touched on photoshop, so I'm surprised there was no mentioned about saving the file. I now have about 4 photoshop books, and they all talk of camera raw workflow only
AutoCad :: Lost Text Input Box?
Jan 24, 2012I'm using AutoCAD 2012LT and have somehow lost the text command input box, that shows what commands I am typing in, at the bottom of the screen.
I am using the program in Classic View rather than Ribbon view. I've been unable to log into the subscription help center due to the organisation I work for not being on subscription.

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.

Nov 27, 2012Select a dimension. Select the text grip. Right click. You'll get a menu for doing some neat things with the text, such as moving it independently, resetting it, and centering it vertically. You can even rotate the dimension.
I was trying to move some dimension text because the plan doesn't line up with the UCS. Either the text was upside down (reading left to right) or on the wrong side of the line (reading right to left). This beats exploding the dimension!
GIMP :: Cannot Edit Text (confirm Text Editing)

Editing the layer with the text tool will discard these modifications. You can edit the layer or create a new text layer from its text attributes."
with 3 options, Create New layer, Cancel, and Edit however, no matter what I click, it doesn't let me create new text anywhere.ALSO, it seems to jump from the layer i selected to another layer whenever I click "EDIT."
What is weird is that I was able to create new text prior to this, but not anymore. it's gimp 2.8.0
AutoCAD 2010 :: Text Disappears When Editing?
Sep 6, 2012When I edit my text it disappears. I have attached an image of the problem. This only affects my machine in my company - I have checked colour settings with others and theirs are the same as mine only theirs works
The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
