Loving all the features there in ,so many to look and learn I was playing around in after effects last night, and i got stuck when it came to mixing two different videos as one, i found and played around with the effects settings but when i went to put some text in i had no idea where i was i got lost then confused and ended up just closing the program without saving anything.
View 4 RepliesIn PSCS3, under Filter>Render>Lighting Effects, I deleted "Flshlight", one of 17 "Style" options. I can't find a way to restore it, so now I have only 16 Style options. Surely, the Flashlight option wouldn't be permanently lost--or would it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI scanned a drawing I made as a .jpeg, opened it in PS CS4, converted the background to a layer, added a curves adjustment layer, and when I try any of Flatten Image or Save as Jpeg the results disregards all or part of the effects of the adjustment layer. The same happens for a levels adjustment layer . I have attached the original jpeg and the .psd with the curves adjustment layer.

I'm using PSE 7 and up until now has been working fine for as long as I've had it. What should I do to get them back or do I have to reload the entire program?

I could swear there used to be the standard Browser control of - + and reduce box in the Top RH corner like in any window and every other adobe product. However, I got a virus it was hiding in Adobe reader. I believe I cleaned it as I scanned with two different virus companies. Both came up nothing found. Cleared my Temp folder, dumped trash after un installing AE. Re installed AE and still no window control?
Plus in my system start tray where my programs are where Adobe Master Collection Folder is I open that an my AE icon is a generic icon, although it will work as a shortcut.
The other thing is that it is evident in my task bar as a 'pinned icon' Here is a screen shot of AE with no + or - in top corner...

I also lost Adobe Reader as I had to uninstall as that was the Trojan file home. I stuck the disc in but did not see the icon to re-install.
Adobe illustrator CS5 on Mac OS X 10.7.4.
I used to be able to do something like effect->3d-> revolve, then go to the actions panel and bring up the 3D revolve, click on it and edit it again. Now, when I open the actions panel the simple 3d revolve is replace with a long long list of actions of course I can't bring up the 3d revolve effect and edit it.
I have removed all of the Illustrator prefs in my library file; but, it still does it.
i select the text tool and draw the text box but i seem to have no flashing text cursor and typing does not enter text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
I think I may have made a big error. While adding text and applying (experimenting) various "Effects" with the text, I used the garbage can icon to remove the "Effect", thinking it is going to remove the 'Effect" from the text, until I realized I had to remove the "Effect" with the edit button, not the garbage can. Have I now permanently removed the various "Effects" permanently or just off the screen? How do I regain them back onto the menu column? How many "Effects" should be visible in order to have the complete set? This was my first experiment with the lettering effects and hope I haven't lost them forever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI’m trying to add some text effects over my video, but I’m really stuck right now getting After Effects and Adobe Premier to work together.
From the tutorials I’ve watched online, I’ve been trying to create a dynamic link between the two programs so I could easily create texts and other effects in AE that immediately show up on my timeline in Premier. I've been able to create texts, but whatever I create in AE is not showing up on the Premier timeline. Am I missing a step? Also, when I load up my sequence into AE, all of the color correcting that I’ve done with Looks inside Premier goes away, and the clips appear as they did right out of the camera.
I'm using AutoCAD 2012LT and have somehow lost the text command input box, that shows what commands I am typing in, at the bottom of the screen.
I am using the program in Classic View rather than Ribbon view. I've been unable to log into the subscription help center due to the organisation I work for not being on subscription.
I'm on Autocad 2008.I can not edit an existing MTEXT text when I double click it. Is there a commond that needs to be turned on or off?

The video works fine, until at the end, when the camera moves through the text. When it moves through the text, it starts to "shake" the text. When the camera moves back away from the text, it stops shaking again.
I lost my dimension text on all my drawings when I converted with Windows 7. I did reload the 2010 software from scratch. I am thinking it is some type of .dll file issue or font issue.

1. When we copy / paste text within illustrator all color information is lost.
2. When we save documents in Illustrator CS6 then re-open text with color attributes changes to different random colors!!
For example: If we save an Illustrator document with a paragraph of text that is part red and part black when we re-open the same paragraph might be all gray, or orange or (you pick a color).

I have lost the ability to free scale objects/text boxes etc. in Illustrator CS5. I have to use the scale tool every time I need to adjust the size of something and it is not a sustainable technique in terms of time/productivity/function.

Photoshop CS. I am using it to print out my wedding invitations and am having a problem.
I printed out a majority of them a few months back and used the font 'poor richard' with the effect 'glowing edges' and it worked perfectly for the look I was going for. Now, when I try the same, the color of the text changes to black as soon as I apply the effect.
First one, it is created by some other in which text effects along with text are in vector form...where as in pdf created by me, the text is in vector form..but text effects are in low resolution raster form.I created the second one in photoshop and saved it in pdf. How can I create text effects without losing information?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to add effects to text. The "help" feature said that the easiest way is to use the text effects in the Action palette.
The instructions were very sketchy. I tried, and didn't see any effect, so I closed that particular file and went on to something else.
Well, I guess I did SOMETHING, because now those effects seem to be permanently stuck ON. I've tried everything that I can think of. I even deleted all effects from the Actions palette (apparently you can restore the defaults later.) No effect!
The effects that are haunting me are "rippling water" and a shadow. Also, if I click anywhere in a .gif with the text tool, instead of creating a new text layer, it "highlights" the entire image.
What can I do?
Is there any posibility to import created 3D text in Photoshop to After Effect so the imported file was 3D? When i import the file is flattened. There was an option in cs5 i suppose but is it possible in creative cloud? I need these options to create for example 3d sphere or text.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was just working on several documents when something strange happened - out of nothing the appearance of fonts,layers, backgrounds etc changed. white color turned black. some layers had total different colors ( bitmap layers, no shape layers) - everything looked really messed up. I thought its some display bug in Photoshop cc so I saved my document and restart everything - fun thing -> it did save with these alterations.
Whatever happened, I have the problem in 2 documents, i can't reproduce it - one was a pretty big psd file - the other one was a fairly new one. Because of Time machine i was able to recover my file.

I have 4 different text layers showing up, and they're all visible. (a real small "the," a much larger "Wedding," a small "of," and a large "Jane Smith.") I like to have the different words on separate text layers so I can move them around and lay them out the way I like.
I got to the point where I wanted to apply blending effects to the text (drop shadow, bevel, whatever). Now, since I have 4 different text layers, what I'd normally do is merge them into one rasterized layer and then do my effects. But I'm wondering if there is a better, more non-destructive way. Code:
Ever since the latest update to PS CS6, when I add a simple effect to a text layer, like emboss, the working image disappears when I zoom in and out. Also, the layer effect does nothing to the type. It's almost like a dispay issue. When I turn the layer effect off, my image is visible again.

I used XPGD7 to do some simple text w/ shadow and added it to my website (as an h1 tagged page heading). I do not pretend to be a graphic designer and would like a designers eye to tell me how to spice it up. Perhaps emboss or engrave? How can this be accomplished?
