AutoCad 2D :: Text Changes Font When Editing
Jun 20, 2012I click to edit the text on screen it will change it to another font. It's not doing this every time but pretty often.

Photoshop :: Editing Text - Elements 10 Stuck On One Font
Oct 2, 2013After opening a .jpeg file, I'd like to add text. No problem adding text. The problem is editing the text. Apparently, PhotoShop Elements 10 gets stuck on one font. And it can't be changed. When clicking on the down arrow (to change the font), the User Interface "jumps" up and down. But, the font won't change. I am able to change the color of the text, but not the font. I checked my System and there's no problems. I even did a Virus scan...none found. Is there a setting from within
PhotoShop Elements 10 that I'd be able to import the fonts on my System ?
My System : Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit and 3 Gb RAM.
AutoCad :: MTEXT Editing - Same Height / Font

Sep 29, 2004I am using a font to place a heading on my webpage. I'm trying to create my heading in photoshop because visitors won't have the font I am using.
My font has some white in it, I save as a .gif with a transparent background, when I view it on the page the background shows in the white spots inside the letters. I want to edit the image to place white in these spots but keep the transparent background, If I flatten the image the transparent background no longer exists.

Aug 24, 2011I have an existing font I I want to chop and change about eight characters of the font. The changes I need to make are very small slight change to the stand of the A.
I'm very new to corel draw - I have tried reading the tut's on creating your own font but I think it is a little overkill for me needs.
Can I convert an existing font to curves do the slight changes then export it as a TTF ?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Editing Document - Missing Font
Jan 4, 2013I've been trying to edit a certain Corel Draw document. At first it told me I was missing a font. So I closed the Corel Draw and installed the missing font.
But now its not showing the new font in the document. I see the new font in the control panel. And i can type a new text box. But I have 60 pages or so and I dont want to retype all these text boxes.
GIMP :: Copied Font Layers Revert To Default While Editing
Nov 25, 2012In GIMP 2.8, I'm having an issue with font settings not sticking with copied layers.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Click the text tool, then click the canvas.
2. Type the word "Cow".
3. Double Click the word "Cow" and set it to a fancy font, pink, and 24pt.
4. Select the "Cow" text layer and duplicate it.
5. Move the duplicated layer down. You now have two "Cow" layers in a pink, fancy, 24pt font.
6. Double click the word "cow" in the copied layer to highlight the word "Cow".
7. Type "Chicken" over the word "Cow"
Expected result:
The text is now "Chicken" in a fancy, pink, 24pt font.
Actual result:
The text is now "Chicken" in the default font.
In order to keep the font you want, you have to insert the new text after the first letter of the existing word. ie: "CChickenow", then remove the extra "ow" from the end, then remove the "C" from the beginning. This is very tedious and frustrating.
I am aware that you can set a default font to whatever you want (except making it bold by default?). But, if I copy a layer and type over it, it's because I wanted to copy the appearance of the layer, not start over with a new one. Is there a setting I can change? Or is this a known issue with text editing in 2.8?
Photoshop :: How To Stop Text Layer From Turning Black While Editing Text

Creating Smart Object didn't resolve issue
When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.

Jun 21, 2007I was working on a project and I had recently installed a new font. Now all of a sudden whenever I make a new text box and type some text in nothing shows up. I can only see a tiny black line which isn't even text, even tho its set to 36ft. I changed the font and size to see if it made a difference, and nothing worked. I restarted PS and my computer several times, and still the same thing...

Nov 27, 2012Select a dimension. Select the text grip. Right click. You'll get a menu for doing some neat things with the text, such as moving it independently, resetting it, and centering it vertically. You can even rotate the dimension.
I was trying to move some dimension text because the plan doesn't line up with the UCS. Either the text was upside down (reading left to right) or on the wrong side of the line (reading right to left). This beats exploding the dimension!
GIMP :: Cannot Edit Text (confirm Text Editing)
Jan 3, 2013I am clicking on a layer in GIMP, and when I click on the text tool, this dialog pops up "CONFIRM TEXT EDITING" "the layer you selected is a text layer but it has been modified using other tools. Editing the layer with the text tool will discard these modifications. You can edit the layer or create a new text layer from its text attributes."
with 3 options, Create New layer, Cancel, and Edit however, no matter what I click, it doesn't let me create new text anywhere.ALSO, it seems to jump from the layer i selected to another layer whenever I click "EDIT."
What is weird is that I was able to create new text prior to this, but not anymore. it's gimp 2.8.0
AutoCad :: Getting 3D Text In Gothic G Font?
Sep 19, 2011I am having problems producing 3D text in "Gothic G" font. I can produce 3D text with the “Tahoma” font as is seen in the picture. However, when I go through the same procedure with the Gothic G font I get the following error message after trying to extrude the text in the “Model” window:
“Could not build this extrusion Self- intersecting loop found in this profile. Remove the intersection by adding a sketch point at the curve intersections or by changing non-profile geometry to constructive geometry"
I have also noticed that other fonts upon trying to be extruded produce the same falure message.
What is the procedure to produce 3D text in Gothic G and the other fonts that produce the same error message?

I need to extract text and font from a text layer. No problem, I thought, with gimp-text-layer-get-text and gimp-text-layer-get-font.
But I find that the original text layer was cropped withplug-in-autocrop-layer. Nevertheless Gimp lets me edit the text with the text edit tool - after a confirmation dialog.
But I can't get the text with script-fu. Is there a way to manage it? There are many files involved.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Text Disappears When Editing?
Sep 6, 2012When I edit my text it disappears. I have attached an image of the problem. This only affects my machine in my company - I have checked colour settings with others and theirs are the same as mine only theirs works
The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Text Becomes Obscured When Editing
Jan 12, 2012When I am trying to edit mtext and also when i the DDEDIT command to edit multi-line dimension strings, the text becomes obscured. So far nothing makes it visible again until I exit out, which is (as I am sure you can understand) making editing text extraordinarily challenging.

AutoCad 2D :: Text Rotates In MTEXT While Editing
May 14, 2013Whenever I enter the MTEXT editing function, then type a letter on any given line of text, that line rotates to the world UCS. This makes typing almost impossible, as the overlapping text can't be read clearly.
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 for Mac and looking at my drawing with a rotated UCS.

Jan 4, 2012I just upgraded from AutoCAD LT 2005 to AutoCAD LT 2012. I commonly used a font that, on the 2005 version, was called a1.shx. It has been replaced, on the 2012 version, with archstyl.shx. When I go to "Manage Text Styles", under the "Font Name" there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it before the font name "archstyl.shx". I am assuming this means that the font is not currently available on my system because it is replaced with the simplex.shx (which I read was the default alternate font under "substitute fonts" in the users guide). There is not a font style on my current system that suffices as a replacement to the font I used on the 2005 version of AutoCAD LT. Is there anyway to import the old font to AutoCAD 2012? Is there a way to put new fonts on my system so that I can find an adequate replacement?

Dec 6, 2006Basically, we get documents from other people and we convert those to our formats to do our work. We use a font called Simplex, but sometimes their document is filled with, like, Comic Sans or something stupid.
The match properties command doesn't seem to change font, just size and alignment. When I use the font properties dialog box, I can set simplex as the font, but when I make new text, it still matches their comic sans.
So two questions: How do I change the default font for the document so that all new text is the way I want it?
And is there a LISP routine which will find all text and change the font property and stuff the way I want it? For multi-line and single line text.
Also note, I've tried selecting all the text and editing properties, but font is not one of the properties I can change. To change font, I have to edit every piece of text one by one. And then ONLY multiline text has the properties to change font. I don't even know how to change the font of a single line text object.

Jun 14, 2013Someone in the office is running AutoCAD 2011 (Windows 7) and the program keeps closing itself just saying fatal error. It seems to happen when a command is entered, particularly while editing text which seems to close it every time. It's not limited to editing text though. It happens on multiple files as well. I've read there were some issues with 2010 closing while editing text but I can't seem to find anything about 2011 having problems with it. She restarted her computer and it seems to be working now, but this has happened in the past and the problem will come back.
