When I am trying to edit mtext and also when i the DDEDIT command to edit multi-line dimension strings, the text becomes obscured. So far nothing makes it visible again until I exit out, which is (as I am sure you can understand) making editing text extraordinarily challenging.

After I created or made a multiline text, the ribbon in autocad is getting all blurry. None of the icons in the ribbon will work (see attached picture).
I always have to shut down Autocad and restart it to continue my work.
How can i select obscured grips in 3D?
ex: an extruded rectangle intersects another one just at the end of the extrusion. I would like to extend it further but i'm not able to select the ">" grip. How can I do this without isolating objects, I need them to reference the length of the extension, and so on.
I have a swept solid that FLATSHOT will not hide the obscured lines for. In the FLATSHOT dialogue box, I have tried all options, with different results. Any setting that I can change or alternate method that I can use to get 2D geometry from this solid that I can use in my 2D drawing?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem since Photoshop 3.0. In the event my current version of Photoshop saved preview thumbnails, and my OS would display them, there would often be portions of the image missing. I noticed that there was usually a mask or channel matching the missing portion, and deduced that Photoshop was arbitrarily masking the preview, making them useless even in the cases where I could see them.
Don't bother responding with "Adobe does not support thumbnails" or something similar. Any work around that does not involve deleting all masks and channels "just in case" one of them randomly spikes the thumbnail. As mentioned, it seems to occur randomly; I have hundreds of tiles with scores of masks and channels that produced clear thumbnails. Perhaps one in twenty grabs a random alpha channel and obscures the preview. I'm getting tired of wasting HD space saving a PNG clone with every PSD to save myself the hassle of opening up dozens of PSD files to find the one I need to work on.
We wonder how we can save a dwg to editing restrictions. For example: We send a DWG file to an external user by only allowing him to view the file. We want to disallow editing of the file. Is it possible?

Im sure there is a correct process for exporting to pdf and editing in photoshop and saving in the correct format.
I don't know why this isn't working for me today. I want to edit the Bay Size of my Ceiling Grid in one room. When I select the Grid..right click Properties and select the Bay Size, I can't seem to change the size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen initiating the hatch command H at the command line my panel changed to the hatch panel. Now the command opens the more traditional hatch dialog. I don't how it happened, but just when i was getting used to the panel.
When editing a hatched area the panel appears. Why when I stretch some hatched geometry does not the adjacent hatch stretch with it?
I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?
Any way to turn off the ghost text that appears when you select text that is annotative, not get rid of it just not show all of the other scales for clarity.

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.
I click to edit the text on screen it will change it to another font. It's not doing this every time but pretty often.

I was trying to move some dimension text because the plan doesn't line up with the UCS. Either the text was upside down (reading left to right) or on the wrong side of the line (reading right to left). This beats exploding the dimension!
I am clicking on a layer in GIMP, and when I click on the text tool, this dialog pops up "CONFIRM TEXT EDITING" "the layer you selected is a text layer but it has been modified using other tools. Editing the layer with the text tool will discard these modifications. You can edit the layer or create a new text layer from its text attributes."
with 3 options, Create New layer, Cancel, and Edit however, no matter what I click, it doesn't let me create new text anywhere.ALSO, it seems to jump from the layer i selected to another layer whenever I click "EDIT."
What is weird is that I was able to create new text prior to this, but not anymore. it's gimp 2.8.0
When I edit my text it disappears. I have attached an image of the problem. This only affects my machine in my company - I have checked colour settings with others and theirs are the same as mine only theirs works
The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
What is the variable I need to change in order for the text I'm editing to stay at the actual orientation and size.Right now it gets bigger and changes to horizontal.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Civil 3d 2013. When i go to edit my text, it rotates, making it impossible to read or edit. How can I stop it from rotating. I am editing the text through a rotated (DVIEW) viewport. When I try to switch to mtexted ---> oldeditor, I get the message
"The text contains new formatting and cannot be edited by your current MText editor."

Whenever I enter the MTEXT editing function, then type a letter on any given line of text, that line rotates to the world UCS. This makes typing almost impossible, as the overlapping text can't be read clearly.
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 for Mac and looking at my drawing with a rotated UCS.
I use a lot of Multiline text, copy and paste that text to other areas of the floor plans that I draw, then edit the text. My problem is when I select the text for editing my cursors always appears in a different location other than Align left.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of parts drawings created in LT 98 that I am now editing in LT 14. For the most part I haven't had issues. However, I have been having a big issue with the Text function. It doesn't matter if I am trying to enter new text (Multi or Single line), or if I try to edit the existing text. Either way, the program immediately locks up & will not snap out of it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSomeone in the office is running AutoCAD 2011 (Windows 7) and the program keeps closing itself just saying fatal error. It seems to happen when a command is entered, particularly while editing text which seems to close it every time. It's not limited to editing text though. It happens on multiple files as well. I've read there were some issues with 2010 closing while editing text but I can't seem to find anything about 2011 having problems with it. She restarted her computer and it seems to be working now, but this has happened in the past and the problem will come back.

I've started having problems when trying to edit text in table cells. Sometimes I double click and all is ok. Sometimes it wont let me select anything in the cell. Sometimes I have to select the cell, then right click to edit text. I get this message:

Is this likely to be a hardwear issue, and the pc is struggling to run AC correctly with all the other crap my company has running in the background? Or is there a systems setting that may have been changed, for whatever reason?
I been working through Ellen Finklesteins AutoCad bible (using AutoCad Architecture 2012) and in the first exercise (quick start, drawing a window) I was going ok until I had to edit the title block and no matter what I tried in AutoCad Architecture 2012 I could not find a way to edit the title block. Maybe I should have bought a book that was specific to AutoCad Architecture 2012.
