Lightroom :: Ability To Virtually Attach Images - End To End
Jan 13, 2012
It would be cool to have a mode that worked like stacking, except it connects multiple photos together along a common horizon. Individual tilt, perspective, overlap, and exposure controls could be used to match the edges. They would export as one huge photo to be printed.
What I think would be useful to have is the ability to add visual annotations to the images and the ability to label the spot adjustments (sky adjustment, face dodge, tree sharpness, etc). When something has a lot of dodging and burning or simply brushes that control spot saturation, moire, sharpness, etc it's difficult to know which little circle to click on when there are more than 3 or 4. This is especially useful when image has been worked on a few weeks prior. Being able to make visual notes to self on top of the image is useful if something comes to mind for the next next time I have time to work on the image.
I have done but I am using lightroom 1.4. Previously, any pictures I edited would show as an edited file in the library now all that happens is the original image shows as the edited image.
My Lightroom 5 has virtually stopped working. Starting around the time I installed the 5.3 upgrade, when I click on anything, the program is non- responsive literally for several minutes. sometimes as much as 15 minutes. For example, I'll click "Import", and have yo wait several minutes. Then when it finally responds, I select the folder on the hard drive that has the photos I want. Several more minutes, I select "Move", and wait several more minutes. The whole process for the simple thing I am trying to do can take a half hour.
I have rebooted my machine several times. I have restored the operating system to a time a week ago when I did not have these probalems. I have reverted back to 5.2. I re-installed 5.3.
how to import / drag / place more than 1 image into a document. I have over 100 images that I have to repeat the same process to, and yes I know actions, but I need to go into each individual layer and adjust accordingly and would save me less time then to open each file and repeat. a crop for example would take 1 minute with multiple layers, a crop in a batch might take 5 min especially if there are a few hundred. then after that I can just choose a script and export layer to files. You can create groups in Bridge and do that method in InDesign and Illustrator,
is there a way to preview images on what they look like without having to drag the asset out onto the stage? If I have even two or three versions of a file imported into my library, I constantly need to leave the program to check which is which.
I just upgraded to LR 4.2 and have lost the ability to shoot tethered with my Canon 5D. I reloaded LR 3 and everything works fine, so this eliminates a bad camera or tether cord. Something has happened in the upgrade!
Is it possible to "virtually" rescale layers in the Gimp? Or is this planned? Because it would be an awesome feature.
What I mean is this: When you "virtually" rescale a layer, everything behaves as if it were a normal layer rescale operation, but internally the GIMP remembers the original image size. This means if I change my mind later and want to resize again (make it bigger for example), I don't lose quality. Or is this maybe already be possible somehow and has evaded me?
Is there an ability to archive photos from Lightroom 5 to reduce the size of your catalog? For example, if I have a wedding I shot where I have several hundred photos but I've delivered the final pictures to my client, should I/can I archive these photos out of Lightroom as I'll probably never look at them again but don't want to delete them just in case.
I have somehow lost the option of adjusting highlight, shadows, and whites on my Develop:Basic panel. What happened to those adjustments and how do I get them back?
I've got two trajectories from the bottom of two tires and I want to create a road surface, an object whose shape will match the trajectories, thereby creating a perfect shadow catcher.
The trajectories are virtually identical in shape and number of points because the two point helpers that created them were wired together. I've converted them into splines and messed with the loft tool, with not so good results. I ended up brute forcing the shape of the object into some kind of shape but I think there has to be a good, dependable way to do this in a program like max.
I have images for which clients have made comments on what they want done to them. I don't find a right place to place that informatiomn in Lightroom and something tells me there should be such a place.
For instance, I have one image that the client wants a specific background replaced.
Just installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.
I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.
Lightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".
In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?
I recently downloaded Publisher and just now went to scan in a pic through Photoshop and discovered that my options in importing are limited to Annotations and WIA support. I tried to scan in through Picassa and it said that the scanner has been taken over by another program. I can only assume that it's Publisher. So, short of uninstalling Publisher,
I have lost the ability to see my layers. I created an image and when I open it, I can see by the text displayed at the top of the image that it has five layers. However, when I click "Open the Layers Dialog", the five layers don't show. Perhaps I've locked it somehow? It was saved as a .xcf. Am very new to GIMP.
I have V3, can you tell me does V4 has the ability to copy and paste transitions yet? I'm sick of doing 100 transitions and having to edit each one when I want the same each time.
When I create a new surface from a corridor it comes in as dynamic but will not allow me to make changes unless I switch to static. Of course it now does not update my new surface and corridor.
I opened up my AutoCAD LT 2010 this morning at work and went to work on an existing file only to notice I have lost the ability to type in measurements. Meaning, when I go to draw a line I don't have that option to just type in 2.00 or whatever measurement I need. Same with drawing a rectangle or fillet; the down arrow prompt has dissappeared and I no longer can specify length by width (or radius/dia with fillet). Did I accidently hit something to cause this to dissappear?
But, I've lost the ability to open drawings with the traditional "tree" type search.... Something like Windows Explorer. Just before this happened, I had blown up a drawing by, apparently, importing one too many iges files. Got a message that Autocad had an error and was shutting down. Now, when I hit file/open, I get nothing but the command line asking me to enter the drawing path.
