After upgrading to OS 10.8, I can no longer print a black stroke around a picture in LR 4.2 on a HP Designjet Z3100. Am using the same presets that worked six months ago. A stroke of any other color will print, but not black. Works fine onother printers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a HP Designjet Z3100. And I can’t get the colors right. Everything looks great on the screen but then I print I get this ugly strong light green color. I have really tried different settings without success I have also tried X4 and X5 with the same result.
Everything is ok if I export the file to PDF and then print, but then I print from the cdr file its get very ugly.
I have the same problem with other printers but then I change the printer’s own settings to Saturation in the color settings.

CDR file = This is one example of the files I can’t print.
PDF output = The same file as the CDR that looks good then I print it.
ugly green = This is how the print looks like (I get these colors then I use my Nitro PDF printer)
Is there any way to print to a PDF and have the background remain black? I know how to make the colors stick for the objects but colors like yellow and cyan are hard to see on a white background.

Anyway, I have an assignment to do and it involves creating a 1 pt. black stroke around an image. I found where it says "stroke" but it is either grayed out at top under 'edit', or down on the right 'add a layer style' I hit stroke and nothing changed on my photo. I have looked at the Help menu and tried what they said and still the image won't change. Please help! This assignment is due tonight (I wasn't able to get Photoshop to unzip and open on my computer all weekend which is why it took this long).

I know a lot of people do not use black strokes or outlines thereby not having the problem, but I want to keep my black outlines of my character.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got some letters with a black inside stroke. These are 3D letters, therefore the stroke must be in the inside otherwise it spills out the edges if I put it outside or centered.
I've tried adjusting the cap/limit and all other options on the stroke menu without luck How can I fix these corner errors? I'm on Illustrator CS5.
The stroke only shows up when I save the file as a pdf as I zoom in the line gets smaller and smaller but never goes a away. In InDesign and on the PSD file the edges look fine just all white around the "horsefly"

I am trying to do the same thing, but every time I select the fill color and start using the brush it goes back to "none" as the fill option. Is this a CS6 exclusive feature?

I have read a lot of stuff on internet re print b&W but it all assumes you are starting with true b&W films. I have film developed to a CD, and it "registers" as RGB, but when try adjusting the channel mixer, etc and printing color = terrible. Printing it grayscale produces sepia.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a bumper sticker printed in mass quantities. The sticker is black with with large white text. My problem started when I exported my ai file to a PDF and the black came out gray. I then exported as a jpeg and found the same grey result. After searching online I found that pure black is not 100K, and it seems to be a mixture of all the CMYK colors. Well I adjusted the colors to make a rich black blend and when I saved it as a jpeg the black displayed as intended. However when i exported the same ai file as a PDF the black still looks grey. Will the pdf print pure black even though it doesnt display that way on screen?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my setup and my printer hasn't been able to print a nice true black ever since. My printer is a Roland SP 300 V and I use Versaworks. I upgraded to CorelDRAW x5 from version 11. When I send an eps file to Versaworks the printer prints a dark gray on RGB black and various greens for Pantone blacks. I printed a default test chart directly in Versaworks and the 100% K printed great. I pulled an older file out which was exported using Corel 11 and the black prints fine. I don't know if I'm doing something obvious wrong or what but x5 has a whole more check boxes and options when exporting an eps file and I'm starting to get lost.

I'm new to AutoCAD LT and haven't used most of its features. But the one feature I really need right now is to be able to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
As in, a 2-D closed polygon with a solid black fill. Unfortunately, AutoCAD LT doesn't think I should be allowed to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
I've tried assigning the color to the box using properties. I've tried defining layers and moving the box to the "black" layer (funny that "black" isn't a defined color in AutoCAD...that's way cool...). I've tried various settings in the Plotter setup screen.
I have a color plot table selected and I'm trying to print to .PDF. I work strictly out of the model view and do a lot of print previews. What am I, or have I, done, or not done, that I'm supposed to be doing, to print the box?
I have a problem when I print documents regardless of the printer I use.
If the document is on the network, colors are printing in black.
But if I copy this document locally on my computer, colors are printing normally.
Note : I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT
I'm trying to print in black & white, everything works except the true colors, i've selected a b&w ctb file were all the colors are turned to black & selected a printer to print b&w. I've even copied contents into a new file but still the true colors are printing in color!!

I'm typesetting a book where the last sections of each chapter should have a colored background, full width of the page (a percentage of the spot color I use). The spot color at 100% is also used for section headings and the like. That means some pages have a completely colored background, for which I made a master page. The first of these pages should only have a background for the sections concerned (the rest of the page should have no background). So I made an object style with exactly the same color and transparency settings as the frame on the master page.I anchor a so-styled frame to the spot from where the page should have a color (so it will always start at exactly the right spot). Works fine.When I print directly from Indesign, there is no problem. When I export it to pdf, there doesn't seem to be a problem either.
But when I print the pdf pages, black text on the page with the anchored frame doesn't show on the background. On the rest of the page it does. Colored text does show, even on the background. On the other pages (with the colored master page) there is no problem either.

I place a solid hatch in a boundary and use the DRAWORDER command to place in underneath everything else, but when I plot the dwg to pdf the black hatch comes out grey in the pdf (see attached pdf)
Is there an alternative that I can use to add a black background to a dwg?
I'm using a HP DesignJet T1100 (non postscript). I have inserted a screen capture of a google map into a sheet as a area/aerial location map for the project. Unfortunately, the jpeg is plotting out as solid black. I have tried inserting it in different ways but same result when plotting. I understand the difference between PS and nonPS plotters/drivers but I was under the impression that there was a setting to plot images in nonPS plotter dialouge box. I did find various incarnations of my question but nothing that directly speaks to it.

I even set the Plot style to monochrome.stb, (which is a network file that others use without issue) have Plot with plot styles checked, and even tried checking the black and white only in the printer properties. This is Autocad 2012.
Is there something I am missing to have the print out come out in black and white? Te print preview shows it in color.
Forgot to mention, if another user opens the drawing, it prints in black and white ok.
how to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded my PC and before when I select plot quality "high graphics" the spreadsheet comes out low resolution, if I use monochrome spreadsheets came out perfectly defined.
Now with the new PC High graphics still comes out the same but when I select monochrome all I get is a solid black block. If the OLE object is an image (BMP) it comes out perfect with monochrome,it only happens with excel files
I search the forums for an answer but the closest I found was changing the OLE type under properties (currently is embedded); problem is the field is grayed out and cannot be changed just as the source application (ms excel 2003)
By the way, on the older files created with my old PC if I just open and print them from the new computer they come out perfect; if I open the OLE file and modify it, the solid black block shows up regardless if I print to PDF or print on paper.
There's a transparency box you can check when you go to print.
