View 3 RepliesIs there any way to print to a PDF and have the background remain black? I know how to make the colors stick for the objects but colors like yellow and cyan are hard to see on a white background.

+
" - "
+
"the name of the sheet"
--> in my case:
V10.350-05 + - + A4
--> V10.350-05-A4.pdf
But now it becomes always V10_350-05-A4.pdf...how i get the underscore back to a point?
I have created a bunch of Page Setups (for both Paper and PDF) that work great when plotting from the plot menu. Lately, I've convinced my people to start using the sheet set manager and the publish command. However, on some computers, (not mine) plotting (to PDF) from the Publish dialog box outputs a file that seems to ignore the page setup. Using the very same Page Setup, the file comes out perfectly when plotting from the regular Plot menu. I don't understand how:
1- I get the same result with both methods on my computer (the one used to create all those page setups);
2- I get page setup to apply perfectly on my computer;
3- I get the expected result on the problematic computers when using Plot;
4- But I get different results on the problematic computer when using Publish.
*Note: In the publish dialog box, I use "Publish to: Plotter named in page setup" and then I select the wanted page setup for all my selected layouts in the list. My page setups are using "DWG to PDF.pc3", so the "plotter named in page setup" in all cases should be "DWG to PDF".
I've been doing tests with PDF files set on A1 format (841mmX594mm) and the output is perfect on my computer. Then on another computer, strangely, I get a PDF with these dimensions: 863.6mmX558.8mm (34"x22"). On the second computer, doing the very same steps, I get 431.8mmX279.4mm (17"x11"). Three computers, three different outputs with three different values. One works, two miss. I'm stoked.
Keep in mind that all three computers output perfect files when using the standard plotting menu (using the same page setups) so I doubt the page setups are incorrect. Does the Publish command deal differently with page setups than the plot command ? I would have assumed that both commands would react the same. I 'd like my team to be able to batch plot like I can on my computer.
Our local agency has come up with a requirement that CAD-generated drawings be submitted to them as 200 dpi TIF files, of between 300kb and 900kb. They do not accept dwg, dwf, or even pdf.
When we create a new plotter in AutoCAD, using any of the raster file formats, setup for the format only allows 100dpi. You can create larger numbers of pixels, 1024x768 vs 1600x1200, for example, but that is not translating into higher resolution.
We have tried the route of printing to pdf, then converting to TIF, but the file sizes are coming out far too large.
If we are unable to find a solution, I guess we can always print to hardcopy and then scan to tif. In 1996 I would have been happy to do that, but not now.
Our specific version of AutoCAD is AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, but I am sure this is more a generic AutoCAD issue.
I scanned a black and white print in color and am trying to replace all the black with dark green. Been trying for hours in elements 9. This is all so hard. Just to ask this question I have typed it into 3 different screens, set screenname, many other hurdles.

View 8 Replies View RelatedUsing an HP 1050c Plus with the latest HP drivers for Windows XP on AutoCAD MEP 2009. If I use the standard printer margins it all works fine, except that the margins are way too big and no border we have will print without cutting off at least .25" all around. If I go to properties and change the margins to .1" all around, my 42x30 sheets will print out with 43" of paper. If I make them .25", I will get 42.5" of paper. I just started at this company and have never had this problem before with an HP 1050 plotter. I have tried different combinations of the Extend margins, Inked area and autorotate checkboxes but haven't been able to figure it out yet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using CarelDraw 12 and had an output problen when I purchased a new printer (HP Laserjet 1525) The page is set for portrait, 8 1/2 x 11, as it always has been, the printer prints the top half OK, but shoves the bottom half of the document up so that the final copy printed is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2? I have downloaded a trial version of X5 and it does the same thing so I am assuming it is a printer/driver issue?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen i take bw laser print from corel draw, the output is not pure black. I tried using the the 'Preserve Pure Black' setting in corel draw. But it turns out to have some adverse effect while converting image from one format to the other (like rgb to cmyk) bitmaps, the black shade on the image looked washed out in multicolor offset print.
what should i do now to get pure black output from bw laser printer without using the preserve pure black setting.
printer : hp 1020
operating system : windows 7

The prepping process should be really simple right? Separate colour layers, using Illustrator, then print each layer onto transparency sheets. Well I'm about to loose my mind.
The image is CMYK, its a single spot colour (I think) which is red and the outlines are black. Printer is a Canon ix6500.
I can't seem to separate the colours in Illustrator CS3?! Why?! When selecting Print > Output > Mode > it won't allow me to select Colour Separations.
I've tried to overcome this by selecting Printer > Adobe Postscript and PPD > Canon ix6500 series. This allows me to select Colour Separations, but then it won't print, it only saves it as a PDF, and prints it as is.
if the print module sends srgb data to the printer by default?
The reason is I use a rip (it controls the printing) and the input needs to be matched so srgb > srgb this is the setting I have at the moment, but then someone meantion it was prophoto rgb which has me thinking?
New to CDR X6 just having upgraded from CDR 8.
Printing a black and white layout to my HP LaserJet 4000 produces an image that appears to be grayscale instead of solid black. In other words, my text, line border I've put around the layout and graphics (for the most part), all appear about 70-80% black instead of SOLID black. Small text doesn't appear to be nearly as sharp because it looks like a halftone instead solid black. On one layout I just printed, the entire thing appears halftoned except for one vector graphic that did print in solid black. Strange. I figured I have something set incorrectly in the software or printer. Has to be the CDR X6 software though because all other programs output just fine.
I've been asked to do a poster A2 size 594mm x 420mm 300dpi but when i enter these dimensions my pc is slowing down dramatically. whats the best way to achieve better performance?
View 7 Replies View RelatedColor Management while Printing has been one of the challenging areas which has been discussed a lot over user forums and has been a painful area in terms of clear understanding while taking print outputs.Here is an easy-to-understand KB (Knowledge Base) article ‘Color management settings for the best print output’ to get the best from your printers using PSE and bridge that knowledge gap.
This article explains color management in Photoshop Elements, how to get better prints, and addresses some of the following issues like horizontal / vertical streaks in print output, too dark or too light print output, ICC profile problems and Color differences between prints from PSE and other applications.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with printing a color seperation. I'm working with CS5 and it won't allow me to print seperations to a pdf-file. I tried to print to an Adobe PostScript file, but also this won't allow me to select the Separations (Host-Based) or In‑RIP Separations Mode as that option is greyed out.
I followed: [URL]
I made sure all colours are in cmyk and already unsuccessfully checked google for solutions, but i'm sure that i'm just missing a simple option.
I am creating colage images in Photoshop CS4. I sometimes use scanned vintage daguerreotypes or other small snapshots. They are often small sized at 3.5" x 4.5" or 4.25" x 5.5". My Epson 835 scanner can scan in at 300, 400, up to 800 dpi. If I intend to print these scans at 8x10, 11x14 or a larger size within the overall collage, should I scan in at the highest dpi allowed by my scanner? Does this make a real difference after 300 in resolution/clarity?
Also, Does Photoshop CS4, in the enlarging process, as I bring the smaller image into my composite and stretch size it up with (T) tool, end up just making "junk pixels" using "Bicubic" or "Bicubic smoother" in the printing from flattened PS file, even tho I scanned in at a high dpi? scan in at best dpi so that the image won't be pixelated, lose resolution as it is used larger inside the final composite collage.
How can I print my drawing on to black paper so all lines are white? Where can I change the color settings etc to do that?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy work entails regenerating new drawings from aging specification drawings and figures. Very little actual CAD, more hand-tracing JPGs than anything. I'm new to AutoCAD LT and haven't used most of its features. But the one feature I really need right now is to be able to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
As in, a 2-D closed polygon with a solid black fill. Unfortunately, AutoCAD LT doesn't think I should be allowed to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
I've tried assigning the color to the box using properties. I've tried defining layers and moving the box to the "black" layer (funny that "black" isn't a defined color in AutoCAD...that's way cool...). I've tried various settings in the Plotter setup screen.
I have a color plot table selected and I'm trying to print to .PDF. I work strictly out of the model view and do a lot of print previews. What am I, or have I, done, or not done, that I'm supposed to be doing, to print the box?
I have a problem when I print documents regardless of the printer I use.
If the document is on the network, colors are printing in black.
But if I copy this document locally on my computer, colors are printing normally.
Note : I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT
I'm trying to print in black & white, everything works except the true colors, i've selected a b&w ctb file were all the colors are turned to black & selected a printer to print b&w. I've even copied contents into a new file but still the true colors are printing in color!!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to place a black background on a drawing so once it is printed it will be easier to read. I place a solid hatch in a boundary and use the DRAWORDER command to place in underneath everything else, but when I plot the dwg to pdf the black hatch comes out grey in the pdf (see attached pdf)
Is there an alternative that I can use to add a black background to a dwg?
I'm using a HP DesignJet T1100 (non postscript). I have inserted a screen capture of a google map into a sheet as a area/aerial location map for the project. Unfortunately, the jpeg is plotting out as solid black. I have tried inserting it in different ways but same result when plotting. I understand the difference between PS and nonPS plotters/drivers but I was under the impression that there was a setting to plot images in nonPS plotter dialouge box. I did find various incarnations of my question but nothing that directly speaks to it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one user that when trying to print to a color laser jet printer it only comes out in color. I even set the Plot style to monochrome.stb, (which is a network file that others use without issue) have Plot with plot styles checked, and even tried checking the black and white only in the printer properties. This is Autocad 2012.
Is there something I am missing to have the print out come out in black and white? Te print preview shows it in color.
Forgot to mention, if another user opens the drawing, it prints in black and white ok.
how to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded my PC and before when I select plot quality "high graphics" the spreadsheet comes out low resolution, if I use monochrome spreadsheets came out perfectly defined.
Now with the new PC High graphics still comes out the same but when I select monochrome all I get is a solid black block. If the OLE object is an image (BMP) it comes out perfect with monochrome,it only happens with excel files
I search the forums for an answer but the closest I found was changing the OLE type under properties (currently is embedded); problem is the field is grayed out and cannot be changed just as the source application (ms excel 2003)
By the way, on the older files created with my old PC if I just open and print them from the new computer they come out perfect; if I open the OLE file and modify it, the solid black block shows up regardless if I print to PDF or print on paper.
There's a transparency box you can check when you go to print.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to plot the file from the layout the middle and right part of my xref'ed image comes out as a black box - the top, bottom and left edge are fine. As are the line-drawings from two other xref on top of the image. The problem accourse both when I try to a physical copy on our plotter and when I try to plot to a pdf.
I'm working in autoCAD 2013 for mac and the files I'm working on are located on a server.
Because of the problems with wipeouts, I have switched to using some solid hatch set to colour 255. The hatch is in paperspace, sitting under titleblock and other Layout text. I am plotting to an HP1050C, using a .ctb file with 255 set with grayscale off.
The plot preview is fine, but the hatch blocks come out black on paper. I thought this was the problem with wipeouts, and that hatch didn't suffer from it.
