The Adobe website indicates that the Sony NEX-5N is supported. How do I get the trial version of Photoshop to recognize the RAW files from the Sony NEX-5N?

Jan 27, 2013I just reinstalled CS3 on my refurbed Mac G4. When I try to open an Nikon camera raw file (.NEF), I get the error message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." Prior to a hard drive crash, I opened .NEF files using CS3 on my G4 frequently with no problems. I have reinstalled the software twice and tried importing the files from the camera using Bridge all with the same result.

Nov 11, 2012I am trying to upgrade gtom LR 1.0 version to 4.1 version and my catlog is not being recognized for upgrade. I launch LR, select my NAME.IRCAT catlog and get this message: " The Ligghtroom catalog named "Lightroom Catalog" cannot be opneded because it is not valid. Would you like to select a different catalog?"
I wonder if need to upgrade to some lower version befor moving to 4.1. I have not upgraded in many years, actually I never upgraded since I first purchased LR. I finally purchased a new PC and upgraded my OS, and consequently decided to upgrade all my most important SW.
Paint.NET :: Photoshop Plugin Installed But PSD File Type Not Getting Recognized

But still Paint.NET won't recognize the PSD file type
I simply still do not get the option to open this kind of file!
I have tried to force the files to open with "Open with" but Paint.NET answers with a prompt: "The image type can not be recognized".
I running Paint.NET on Windows 7.

Feb 21, 2014At work, on a Windows 7 laptop, I used the Adobe Lens Profile Creator utility to make an LCP file for a Nikon 1 6.7-13mm zoom lens. After submitting that LCP file to adobe via email, I copied it to my Dropbox. At home, on my Mac OS X 10.8.5, I copied the LCP file from the Dropbox to:

Then I launched LR 5.3, navigated to a raw (NEF) image shot with this lens, and attempted to apply the lens correction in the Develop pane. Although the Library correctly shows the meta data for the lens and camera, the Lens Correction section in Develop does not even list that lenses LCP file in the drop down menu. Instead, LR attempts to apply a different lens profile which does not match the focal length of the zoom. I'm wondering if the LCP file that I created will only work on a Windows PC since that is where it was created?

However, when I went to import my files just now, it tells me it is not supported. I checked for updates, it said no updates are available (it is version 5.3). I checked to see if D610 is supported and it is.

Jan 10, 2013I have two external HDD's connected to my laptop. I'm using one LR catalog - it is stored on my laptop's SSD.
One external drive (Drive 'A') contains my photo archive - all of my photos. The other external drive (Drive 'B') is a mirror; a duplicate copy of all of the content on the first drive, incase it ever fails.
Q1: Why does LR only display drive 'A'? Even though both drives are on, connected, and working, only drive 'A' appears under the Folders tab. My concern: If - in the future - drive 'A' fails, I need to understand why LR isn't recognizing drive 'B'. Q2: On drive 'A', I right-clicked on the highest level folder in my heirarchy and chose 'Synchronize Folder'. New photos were imported, and old photos were removed. I also made some additional edits to photos on this drive. If drive 'A' ever fails and I need to switch over to my mirrored drive (Drive 'B'), do I also need to right-click on the highest level folder and choose 'Synchronize Folder'?
Lightroom :: 4.1 - External Editing - Metadata Not Recognized On Reimporting
Sep 3, 2012I use 2 external editors in my work. Nik SilverEfex Pro 2 and Portrait Professional. SE creates Tiffs to work on, PP creates PSD files. I can use both plugins fine and export and tweak my images. However, my problems start on the re-import stage.
So, I'm working in a Filtered list of files. They are filtered by the couples name (its a wedding). So I only see this couples wedding. I edit the files externally and they re-import. But - here's the problem, they don't show up. First off I thought that perhaps the metadata was not copied over. But it is. If I clear all filters, the images are there in the library. They also have all the metadata attached correctly and the star rating too. But, if I use the couples name to filter again - they refuse to appear in the selected group.
Solution - quit LR and restart it. Now they appear!The metadata clearly hasn't changed, it was clearly there. You can read the correct keywords are there assigned to the images, but the filter refuses to see those keywords until the program is restarted. As I dip in and out of SilverEfex many, many times during a wedding edit - this is infuriating to say the least.
Lightroom :: Local Adjustment Brushes No Longer Recognized After 4.3 Update?
Dec 16, 2012After running 4.3 update, my local adjsutment brushes are no longer recognized and appearing in the Lightroom GUI. They are all still located under 'Lightroom' folder --> 'Local Adjustment Brushes' folder (nothing has changed and I see all files are still there in Finder), but no matter how many times I've restarted LR, they are not showing up in the GUI.

Oct 1, 2012I just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
The message I get is "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."

Mar 12, 2013I have a new MAC running 10.8 IOS and Lightroom 4.3. I also have a new Canon 5d Mark III. According to documentation Lightroom should recognize RAW files on the camera for download into Lightroom. But while I had success with only importing a single image amid multiple attempts, I cannot. Files are not recognized or cannot be converted to DMG for import. I took the card and put it into my old Rebel XT camera body, and it very slowly worked.
I have been using Lightroom with the old XT camera with no issues. Now I have a 1000 CF card and I can't get this to work from the camera. I have oredered a card reader which I have seen in other groups is supposed to solve this, but quite frankly: what the heck?

Feb 4, 2013Example: New card, 100 photos taken, imported w/ name changes to LR catalog, all is well. Then, another 100 photos taken, and when import attempted, the prog "sees" 200 photos as new, not the actual 100 new photos on the card. Yes, the bottom is checked to avoid duplicates.
