Lightroom :: Files Are Not Recognized By Raw Format Support
Mar 18, 2013
I get the following error message "the files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom (242)" Using 64bit windows 8 Having the same problem in Photoshop CS6
We are thinking about switching over to Lightroom, but 95% of our 60,000 images are EPS files. I recently used a trial version and it didn't seem to recognize my EPS files. Is there a way for Lightroom to acknowledge these files? Is there a plugin to download and try?
I just got a new camera this week - a Nikon D610. I have Adobe Lightroom 5 and have processed my RAW files from my last camera with no problem. However, when I went to import my files just now, it tells me it is not supported. I checked for updates, it said no updates are available (it is version 5.3). I checked to see if D610 is supported and it is.
I am trying to import raw files captured with a canon 5D mark III but getting message the files are from a camera which is not recognized byt the raw format support in Lighroom. I have checked that I have the latest addition of LR 3.
I just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
The message I get is "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
I have a new MAC running 10.8 IOS and Lightroom 4.3. I also have a new Canon 5d Mark III. According to documentation Lightroom should recognize RAW files on the camera for download into Lightroom. But while I had success with only importing a single image amid multiple attempts, I cannot. Files are not recognized or cannot be converted to DMG for import. I took the card and put it into my old Rebel XT camera body, and it very slowly worked.
I have been using Lightroom with the old XT camera with no issues. Now I have a 1000 CF card and I can't get this to work from the camera. I have oredered a card reader which I have seen in other groups is supposed to solve this, but quite frankly: what the heck?
I am wondering whether there is a chance that Lightroom might work under Vista 64 in the future.
So far I bought all versions of Lightroom and without reading the requirements I bought LR5 as well. Only to discover during installation that Vista 64 is not supported anymore. What a shame! I was really looking forward to LR5, but I do not intend to upgrade the operating system on my still excellent computer. That will render other software useless, which is incompatible with Windows 7 or 8. For now there is no other option than asking a refund. However, I hope there are enough people like me, that will be lost as a LR customer, so that Adobe will rethink its policy.
I know the files are "supported", and will open. However, the quality is quite bad and nowhere near as good as opening the same file in Capture One. Also, long exposure shots see the "black frame" totally discarded and the images are extremely noisy. Phase One support say it's because LR and CS6 are only using a portion of the Raw file and to ask Adobe.
I would migrate to LR5 today if there were a fix or an explanation. Capture One forkflow doesn't suit me. However, the quality is just too bad to accept.
I've just purchased a Sony RX100 camera. It captures RAW files in a format that ends in .ARW. Neither Lightroon nor Photoshop recognize that format. Is there any way short of converting .ARW to JPG that I can overcome this?
I use LR 4.4 with my Sony A-77 and Sony A-100. I just purchased a Sony RX-100M2. My current version of LR (LR 4.4) doesn't recognize the RAW files from my new RX-100M2. Will I have to upgrade to LR version 5?
add support for the RED EPIC & RED Scarlet raw files (.R3D)? Right now the process is to export the .r3d raw video files into TIFF frames, then re-importing into Lightroom for processing.
Does Lightroom 3 support Panasonic DMC FZ200 RAW files? I think the update for LR 4.2 does. But I still have LR 3 and do not wish to upgrade right now.
Just purchased this camera, and use primarily Lightroom to edit. When downloading my images, although I shot it RAW (which is why I bought this camera) it converted it to JPEG's. I also just upgraded to Lightroom 4, which will arrive shortly. Whether Lightroom 4 supports RAW in this camera?
just bought the Nikon D5200 and i always shot in RAW but have now found after my first shot with the new camera that Lightroom 4.3 wont support Raw Files from this camera
I've been working with needs to be able to use RLE formatted BMPs... unfortunately, simply changing things to 256-color BMPs doesn't work (it shuffles the colors for some reason), and I can't just use the vastly superior PNG due to how the software works.
Any plugins that allow me to work with RLE formatted BMP?
.pdn is format for working project. Sometimes to some elements in workspace need to add extra metadata(ex.: font style and size, another example - in case of color with alpha - thectly color definition, in some cases - describe object relation.)All this stuff exist in adobe reader. All what need - copy functionality to Paint.NET.
I am thinking of buying a new Sony camera (finally moving from mini-dv tape!). The HXR-NX3 records video using the AVCHD 2.0 format. Will I be able to import directly into CS 6 without doing any conversions? And will that give me HD video suitable for recording to blu-ray?
upgrading to either one of these products as my current versions do not appear to support the panasonic raw file format rw2 but would like to know if the latest versions do support this format before I buy.
How can I have my external editor (PS CS4) open my files in their native NEF format and not as a copied PSD or TIFF?
I do not want an edit copy and wish to have the RAW file open in photoshop. I have had this option in thw past, but since installing LR 3 on a new computer can not configure to just open the NEF file in Photoshop.
Lightroom v5.3: I'm a long time DNG file user for Pentax and Nikon cameras. I recently discovered that about 300 of my RAW Nikon files already imported into the Library are NEF files instead of DNG files as my other 5700 files are.
I know that I made an error somewhere along the way, but- Is there an easy solution to converting those existing NEF files to the DNG format?
I am working in Photoshop 8 and I did 4 different files and saved them. Then my computer locked up and now photoshop is telling me that those files are not the right type of file to be opened in photoshop. What can I do? I am working on a large project!
Having issues opening Canon T2i .CR2 raw files with my MacBook Pro & Photoshop CS3. Will an uninstall and reinstall solve it or do I need to UPGRADE? Also, don't have original CS3 disc on hand. Online uninstall and reinstall?
I have a Brother MFC-J835DW inkjet printer with an SD slot to read files to print. It will NOT read any JPG or PNG file created with Gimp 2.8.x. The thumbnails show up as a square with a "?" on it. I have 2.8.10 on a Win7 desktop and 2.8.4 on a Linux machine. My Win7 laptop has 2.6.11 and those files work fine. The win7 desktop had 2.6.11 before the (up?)grade and those files were fine too. The Linux machine had 2.6.x at one time and those files also worked fine.
What is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.
