I have latest version of LR4. Photos downloaded from card reader and two different cards show grayed image with note "preview unavailable". I see this question has come up with Nikon D800. Do I need to wait for adobe to update for Nikon d600 before I can use my cool new camera?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Nikon D600 which is not supported by CS5. I heard that Lightroom 4.2 will support it so I shelled out $199 for that product. Now I see that if I import a raw file into LR, work on it and then try to send it to PS for more editing I can't do that. I am told I have to spend another $199 to upgrade to CS6 because Adobe has no plans to have CS5 support my camera. This is a rip-off. I was told that I can convert all my NEF files to DNG, bring them into LR and then into PS, but "the quality will not be as good".

I have tried downloading images from card via a recovery programme and filed them on desktop in separate folder, then tried to import from the folder. Still no success.
As I have done for years I shoot in RAW and use Nikon transfer to load images from the card to my laptop and external drive. AFter I sort the images by subject I import them to Lightroom for the final touches. Not so with Lightroom 4.2 and Nikon D600..Adobe says if yousue transfer than 4.2 will not recognize the files and too bad ...as a company they are going downhill..I hope they correct the problem so I can import the 1500 images into Lightroom for final conversions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
The message I get is "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
