I just upgraded my regular DSLR to a full frame Nikon D600. I've shot in RAW for a long time and never had any trouble with Elements 9 opening my RAW files via Camera Raw. I can't find which version of Camera Raw I have, but I know it does not recognize the Nikon D600 because it's so new. What version of Camera Raw should I download to make this work or is there a version of Camera Raw that recognizes the D600?

View 8 Replies View RelatedBy reading comments herein, one is led to believe that LR 5.3 provides tethered capture support for the Nikon D-610. Well, I have a MacBook Pro and OSX, and beg to differ. I cannot, for the life of me, get LR 5.3 to recognize my D-610.
what steps I need to take to get the software to recognize the camera?
If this camera is not supported, when will the D-610 be added? LR 5.3 already supports the 610's predecessor, the D-600; this camera had such a serious dust/sensor problem that Nikon quickly introduced the 610, which is virtually identical but without the sensor problem.
I was under the false impression that Lightroom 5 would work with my Nikon D90. This does not seem to be true..

I have a laptop Windows Vista which will not allow me to upgrade Lightroom 3.2 to 5.3. I have bought a Nikon D7100. Is it possible to enable the older version of LIghtroom 3.2 to recognise the Nikon D7100 for tethered shooting?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a mac user with 10.7 OS. I recently upgraded to LR5.3 and thought to try out the tethered shooting feature with my Nikon D300. In the ‘Tethered Capture Settings’ window it shows the naming format as a DNG file. I only import image files in their native ‘NEF’ format though I am aware of the advantages of ‘DNG’ files.Anyway I noticed the captured images were named as ‘nef’ files with its standard sidecar xmp file. Note the lower case lettering for 'nef'. I am not able to import these files to my external HD because these images were grayed out in the Import window. However if I changed the format names to upper casing, NEF, these images are visible for import.
How can I avoid the extra step of having to the change the casing of the letters and have the captured images in the tethered shoot all have the correct upper casing instead?
4.4 didn't do it.Any plans to add this studio devil support for tethered shooting?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHas Lightroom 5 now a solution for the tethered shooting with Nikon cameras where no save on the CF/SD cards takes place?
If not, will this covered in the future?
I just bought a Nikon D600 which is not supported by CS5. I heard that Lightroom 4.2 will support it so I shelled out $199 for that product. Now I see that if I import a raw file into LR, work on it and then try to send it to PS for more editing I can't do that. I am told I have to spend another $199 to upgrade to CS6 because Adobe has no plans to have CS5 support my camera. This is a rip-off. I was told that I can convert all my NEF files to DNG, bring them into LR and then into PS, but "the quality will not be as good".

In doing research I saw where both Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 had some problems with Apple's OS X 10.8. Have these been resolved yet?
I have latest version of LR4. Photos downloaded from card reader and two different cards show grayed image with note "preview unavailable". I see this question has come up with Nikon D800. Do I need to wait for adobe to update for Nikon d600 before I can use my cool new camera?
