I have no problem importing the RAWs from my Canon 6D by plugging in the SD card into the SD card slot in my MacBook Pro.However it appears that when I try to start tethered capture in LR, my camera keeps saying that it's "BUSY" and won't work at all.I was just wondering does this mean that tethered capture for Canon 6D is not supported in LR 4.3?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to shoot in tethered capture mode and have found that my D90 in not fully supported in this mode. A D7000 is fully supported, but will cost somewhat more than I had hoped to spend. The new D3200 would be an excellent match for our needs (dental photography). My question: Do this camera is supported in tethered capture and if not, does Adobe plan on adding it as a compatible camera anytime soon?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know if it's possible to have a live preview when doing tethered capture in Lightroom 4.3. This seems to be a basic function. Why look at the computer screen and use Lightroom to capture the photo but still use the camera's viewfinder. You are forced to go back and forth from the camera's viewfinder to the computer screen.
Is there any way to do this in Lightroom?
I'm trying to set up tethered shooting with my D800. Following the steps to initiate tethered capture per Adobe, the camera is recognized, the camera settings are updated in LR when changed at the camera, and the LR shutter release functions properly. Only the files never transfer to LR. LR indicates that the "Files are Transferring from Camera" but they never do. Here's some additional information.
Macbook Pro v 10.8.5
Lightroom 5.3 up to date.
D800 firmware up to date.
I've gone through all the steps on the Adobe troubleshooting page. I've tried this with a CF card installed and no card installed. This setup works perfectly with Image Capture on the Mac.
The tethered capture doesn't seem to be working in lightroom 4.1 RC with the canon 5D mk3. The camera is detected with the correct name, but no camera parameter is recognized, and the camera can't take any photo.
I've experienced this both on Windows 7 64bits and Mac OS X. Importing canon 5D mk3 pictures works fine.
I use LR3 extensively for tethered capture and think that Adobe did a great job for the first release of this feature but one critical option is missing.
I use tethered capture with the 'shot name' option selected which is great becasue it puts the different shots into their own folder in the catalog but it would be even more useful if there was a way to have the shot name included in the filename that is saved. I have played around with the custom filename options, which are extensive, but the shot name option isnt available. Is there a way to do this?

When I connect the camera to the computre and select Tethered Capture, I see the camera name in the tethered capture window, but the values for the settings are "--". When I mouse over the shutter button, the curson becomes a gloved hand with pointed finger and if I click on the shutter button it changes shade, but does not fire. When I look in the view finder, "Busy" flashes and I can't use the camera shutter.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was successfully shooting tethered using Lightroom 4.3 (PC laptop with Windows 7) and my Canon 5D Mark III, however when I disconnected the cable I was no longer able to see anything on the back of the camera, no image playback, no menu, no live view, nothing. How do I recover the functionality of the camera's back screen. I tried removing the battery for a while, replacing the battery, taking out the memory card. Don't know how to "reset" the camera. Note the top display on the camera and the view finder display work fine, I can change settings with my dials. Was working in Manual Exposure mode, and also tried Aperture Priority. If I reconnect to the laptop I can still work in tethered mode, but after disconnecting the camera back is still dead.
Was I somehow supposed to disconnect the camera from tethered capture before disconnecting the cable?
i found a tether issue on Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 8 (x64 and x32) (PC and Laptop)
i have two cameras - Canon 550D and 5D mark II and both didn't work with tethered capture

I have a Canon S100 and just started importing photos and video into my LR 4.3 catalog. I convert RAW to DNG, and the Capture Time on the photos in LR is correct. However, the video Capture Time is shifted forward exactly 8 hours. I know how to correct the video Capture Time, but is there anything I can do to stop this from happening in the first place? I looked at what the metadata looks like in Bridge.
PHOTO:
Date Created = Correct Capture Time
Date File Modified = The time I imported the file into LR.
VIDEO:
Date Created = Capture Time + 8 hours
Date File Modified = Correct Capture Time
Why does the capture date in the metadata panel not match the capture date seen in the grid extra view and how do I fix it? The images that I have in my library are digitized negatives and I've corrected the capture dates and times to be accurate; however, the capture date and in the metadata window shows what I've changed it to and the date in both the grid extra view and the Metadata>Edit Capture Time... options both reflect the date the image was last modified. Not all of the images in my library are this way and some show the correct information. When sorted by Capture Time, all images fall exactly where they should in the proper order (based on the changed, corrected edit time and not the modified date). I saved metadata to the file with the new date but it didn't fix it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedProblem: Connects and works once in 30 or 40 tries. Sometimes shows the camera connection and sometimes it will not. Have changed cables, wiggled cables, used different USB ports, and anything else I could think of to do. When it works, the Tethered Capture window does show all the pertinent info and the shutter release button works. Most of the time, it will at least recognize the camera, but none of the settings and will not download to the computer/Lightroom (as seen below). The camera will shoot and record the image to the internal card... just not to the computer/Lightroom.
I have since run maintenance programs, rebooted, changed to 32 bit, etc......

My iMac still has 10.6.8 and that works fine with the 5D.

If I can't get it to work with the 5D I'll just have to reinstall Snowy.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe shooted tethered into LR 4.3 using EOS Utility. Every attempt to shoot tethered FROM LR 4.3 has met with failure. I reread all the threads concerning this issue and found none included a solution. Is there one or has this functionality been dismissed? LR 4.3 is running on Macs with OS 10.8.2 and 10.7.5.
What we are trying to do is shoot with 5D Mark IIs tethered with EOS Utility and 5D Mark IIIs tethered with Lightroom at the same time. We have not been succesful getting the Mark IIIs to tether at all. We are trying to avoid using Sneakerware through CF cards and readers. Workflow time is critical.
By reading comments herein, one is led to believe that LR 5.3 provides tethered capture support for the Nikon D-610. Well, I have a MacBook Pro and OSX, and beg to differ. I cannot, for the life of me, get LR 5.3 to recognize my D-610.
what steps I need to take to get the software to recognize the camera?
If this camera is not supported, when will the D-610 be added? LR 5.3 already supports the 610's predecessor, the D-600; this camera had such a serious dust/sensor problem that Nikon quickly introduced the 610, which is virtually identical but without the sensor problem.
I am trying to get tethered shooting to work on Lightroom 4.3, but I keep getting the "no camera detected" message. The OS detects the camera fine and I can even import images from the camera using lightroom, but tethered shooting just refuses to work. It used to work in Lightroom 3 but has stopped working since I upgraded.
Here are the details:
Computer: Windows 8, x64, i7, 16GB, all updates installed
Lightroom: v4.3 all updates installed
Camera: Canon 5DMII, latest firmware installed (v2.1.2)
USB cable etc is fine since the computer can see the camera just fine.
Canon's EOS utility lets me tether just fine
Have tried restarting computer, camera, lightroom, etc.
I am attempting to use LR (latest version) on a MacBook Pro (literally brand new) for tethered shooting from a Nikon D3s. I can get it all working but mid shoot I will get an error message about no camera connected. I have read the faq here and yes if I do restart everything I can start capturing again but thats a major disruption. I also observe (but I am new to mac so I may not be understanding what I am seeing) what appears to be another picture program attempting to start up. I shut it off and get back to LR but again I will find that the capture will stop for no apparent reason.
Is there some way to insure that there is no other picture program getting in the way of LR? Is there something else I am not doing or need to do to insure LR can reliably work in a session without constant restarts?
