I've been experiencing some slowdown on my PC when exporting files from LR4. No matter the size, or if it's .jpg or .TIFF... it always gives me some frezzes (mouse etc)

when exporting RAW files from lightroom 3, version 3.6, to photoshop 5, (version 12.04, ACR 6.6), raw files go directly to editor, not camera raw editor. This began only after I went from trial version to full version, before it went to RAW editor. If loading directly into PS RAW files do go to RAW editor as they should, but not from LIghtroom.
When exporting to JPEG, some files export as "zero byte" and in fact are empty files. If a repeatedly try exporting a given file, eventually it will export correctly. I have reinstalled LR; problem persists. Running LR 4.3 on MacBook Air running OS 10.8.2.
I seem to have lost many original CR files after import > developing > export as jpg. I had made selects to develop and then output images as lower rez jpgs. When I went back to the original folders (on an external hd) those CR select files were missing / a gap in the photo sequence now exists and I cannot locate the originals regardless of searches.
The exported files are empty, as in 0 kb, and will not open.
When I try to open them I get a warning that says the file is empty.
This has never occured before. Just started happening this week.
When ask LR to look for updates, it says I do not need any updates.
When I right click a dng file in LR and try to open it via PS CS5 for editing, I get a message that says my version of LR may need Camera Raw 7.3 and that I should update Camera Raw via the PS menu.
When I go to PS and ask it to update, it says I am up to date.
However, I believe my installed Camera Raw is version 6.
When I try to install Camera Raw 7, it tells me that the update does not apply to me, so I cannot procede.
Why LR 4.3 is all of a sudden exporting empty jpg files?
When exporting files using the export command, only some keyworks will show up in the File info panel (even if I select all). But if I open the same image from Lightroom with the "Edit photo with Photoshop CS-6" all the keywords show up in the file info panel.
I encountered the following problem: wenn exporting multiple files from Lightroom as JPEG files, I get a random error message that Lr couldn't export some of these files. In the Windows explorer these 'half' export files can't be delete unless Lr is closed. After deleting all the export files, reopening Lr and doing another export run, the same problem occurs, but now on other files. This problem seems to happen at random files.
When exporting smaller sized files (e.g. jpegs with 1000px width limitation), some of them are 1px shorter (999px in this case). It does not seem to affect files around 2000px export size, so it might be linked to the fixed export problem with output sharpening and noise reduction (URL...)
When exporting files from lightroom 4 how do I know what the resolution is if the file has been resized in another program? For example I edited (cropped and changed ppi) in Photoship Elements. Returned to Lightroom 4 and began to export to another location on my hard disk and discovered I couldn't find the resolution (ppi) I had used in PSE. Why doesn't Lightroom have the file properties listed and especially the ppi. I want tis file at specific resolution for a specific size. Why can't I get to Adobe Support?
My Lightroom has unexpectedly stopped exporting files. Nothing that I am aware of has changed--I haven't changed cameras or added new software. No error message comes up, it just does nothing after the Export dialog box.
This problem only occurs with files that I have been imported from cd's/dvd's into the libraryand I get the msg "Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file for editing. It will not be opened." Files that are stored on my hard drive have NO PROBLEM in being edited. .
I am new to Lightroom and currently using it on the 30 day trial I have been using PSE for a long time and have over 90,000 images in Organizer and all of my images are on cd's/dvd's, very few are stored on the hard drive.
I imported some RAW files into Lightroom 4, which I then copied/converted to DNG, then edited them. I now want to export them as full size, high-quality jpegs but I only seem to be able to export them at a maximum of about 800kb, which is far lower than full-size. Is this to do with first the conversion to DNG from RAW on the import? Am I best copying them from raw and not converting them to DNG at all? Next question is, will I have to import the original RAWs again and re-edit them to be able to export as full-size high quality jpegs or is there some way to not have to do them again?
Working in LR 3.6, if I export files with "minimize metadata" checked, I loose the tags. The only way they stay in the exported JPG is if I enable that check. But I don't necessarily want all my EXIF data available to everybody.
I am using Lightroom (x64) to manage and sort my files and my typical workflow has me editing in Photoshop (CS4 x64) from out of lightroom. I noticed at first that when I tried the new healing brush that it was a lot slower than the CS3 version of the brush. One day I was editing out of Bridge and noticed a significant speed boost while using the brush, it was working like the previous version of the brush.
I pointed the finger at Lightroom, so I opened it and tried editing out of LR again. Same slow down. The only thing I can think of is that they are both using openGL and there might a conflict somewhere?
LR works fine by itself and PS also work great while LR is closed. And PS works fine as long as it isn't using any of the new openGL (assumption) features, like the healing brush. If anyone else has been experiencing this and has found a solution I am all ears. My system is a Q6600, 8gb ram, ati Radeon 3850, all drivers are up to date.
I have installed Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 (32bit version) on my Win7 64Bit laptop. But when I easy playback, preview, 2 tracks with a Crossfade the preview slowdown. I remeber X3 on the same laptop works fine.

I am running a Q6600 quad core with 4gb ram, Windows XP Pro 32bit. Video card is Nvidia 8600GT 512mb with latest driver 1.8250 & have latest update of CS4 11.0.1.CS4 works fine for me for 40 - 60 mins or so & then starts to slow down. It gets to the stage where any selection tool is unusable. As ann extreme example, today I had been working on an image, then went to do something else for an hour or so, but left cs4 running with the image open, came back & 1 click of the quick selection tool resulted in a progress bar that took around 30 seconds to complete. If I shutdown cs4 & restart its fine again for a while. So it seems like some sort of memory leak.I have noted also that the enable Open GL option is greyed out. I tried resetting CS4 preferrences, but still greyed out. I had previously tried the DisallowOpenGL Windows_on patch from adobe, but found it made no difference so ran the DisallowOpenGLWindows_Off patch.I cant honestly remember if the openGL option was always greyed out or notI know there are lots of CS4 slow threads around, but I hadnt come across a thread on my version of the problem, where cs4 works ok for a while & then slows down.
I've just starting experiencing a tremendous slow-down in the viewport (Nitrous, Quadro 4000) . . . and discovered that the trajectory being displayed in the object properties is causing it. When I turn it off, everything runs as expected.
For some unknown reason i get a slowdown when using RGB color mode, brushes, even 1px sized brushes trail behind the cursor and makes it rather slow and rather problematic to draw and paint. When i change to any of the other modes, greyscale, cmyk, etc; this slowdown doesn't occur at all which results in no slowdown.
Yesterday, painting with 1000px brushes in rgb mode didn't even give a noticeable slowdown which is very weird. So the issue has to have happend today.
After eagarly installing the CS4 extended trial (on vista x64...) (and yes I should have seen it coming, as it does with every new release...) I was extremely dissapointed to find that, well, it doesn't really work.
It loads fine, images load, but as soon as I try and use a tool, zoom, scroll, paint, etc... I get a huge lag/slowdown. For example, rotating the canvas becomes slow and horribly jumpy, brushes lag a few seconds behind my cursor....
I have so far only heard from one other user who is experiencing a similar problem and I cannot understand it. My PC is surely up to standard (see sig links for details) and the only thing I can think of is that vista 64 is working its usual magic. My drivers are up to date and I've played around with the RAM and open GL settings in both ati catalyst and CS4 but have got nowhere.
I am using Gimp for years now, and few days ago I have updated to latest 2.8 version. However, since the update (more like clean installation than update) to 2.8 I am experiencing extreme slowdown while moving image around with middle mouse button (wheel) or with the button on my tablet's pen. The image gets thorn apart a Gimp freezes for about 10-15 seconds. The thing is, this only happens with 2.8 version (never happened with 2.6) and only while I am using middle mouse button (wheel), or the button on my tablet's pen, for moving around. If I use "Navigate" cross at bottom right, I can move the picture without any tearing and slowdown/freeze.
what is the command in AutoCAD 2013 for exporting drawings as DWFx files so that clients who do not have AutoCAD can open or plot a DWFx file using a current version of Internet Explorer or Safari for Apple as an alternative browser.
Does the exported dwg file always have to be a zip file? I have tried save as a dwg file but it seems to be an Invnetor dwg which has the geometry as a block when opened with AutoCAD. It is a little easier to explode the block in AutoCAD rather than open and extract the zip file, save the extracted dwg then delete the zip file.
Just a quick question, I'm wondering if there is a fix in 3ds max (64) 2011 regarding exporting .mov files. We are in the FIRST Robotics competition and the Autodesk 3D Animation Contest requires the final movie to be in .mov format.
I can always export individual frames and composite the work in Premiere, perhaps a better process in the end; regardless I would love to hear of how the problem will be solved with Apple (just a guess) down the road
Video studio has an export option "save as first video clip" for mpeg files. Don't see that for wmv files. Is there a way to save an edited wmv file using the original files properties without doing a custom setup? Windows Movie Maker seems to do this but it's a pain to use.
I need to export on a regular basis parts of a X6 file to eps. The files are huge an can contain all sorts of filter. They are all powerclips, some with shadows and transparency and symbols containing JPG's.
When i export the first part of it most at the time it works well, exporting the second set I am ending up with only half the data. If I copy and past into a new document and try from there I might get lucky or some other parts are missing, if I reduce the size by 50 percent same thing.
When I export my CDR file to EPS, which I've done thousands of time, it seems to export, but when I try to open it, I get an error "The file.......is an unknown format and cannot be opened". When I look at the file profile in my documents, I can see that it says "0 KB"
I can open up older EPS files from my documents fine, but not able to do that now.
But I am having some issues in exporting Xara files to either JPG or PNG.
I am developing maps in Xara for use in an online program called Maptool. My current project is to vector a city built around a volcano so it has better detail than what it did in the original map. First off this is a very large map and I have to be able to zoom in use the standard scale of 5ft for use in Maptools (it is probably zoomed in to about 50ft for this).
1. What is the best format and settings to export a file so that when I zoom in real close (500% to 600% zoom) it doesn't look badly pixelated? I also want it to still have good visuals when I zoom it out to 15% to see the whole map (or most of it.
2. When I export the file as a PNG and open it in maptool to use it as a map some of the objects I placed on it in Xara have either moved slightly or changed size. I am not sure which yet but they look more re-sized than anything. Why and how do I stop this?
3.When I exported the map one time I noticed a building was missing from the original xara file. I went back to recreate it and it was still there, so I assumed I just didn't have it clicked when I exported it. That wasn't the case. The building shows up where I originally drew it but I can't edit or delete it. I can see it, but when I copy and paste or export it into another file the building isn't there.
4. Is it possible to change the units and size of the artboard after the project has been created and worked on for a few days? If so, how?
I tried to move my map project to a new file (after encountering the problem described in #3 above). The original settings were in pixels and is a very huge map. I set the new document in inches (or feet) but I couldn't make the artboard large enough to fit my project. I am not sure how to change from one measurement to another. When I did first save it in another file I could not edit the whole map as my limits are the new document size settings and my project is larger than those settings.
My current export settings are: True color + Alpha. I have removed all the transparency effects as they look horrible in the export so far.
